 I'm so excited. One of the books my work got me for Christmas is about pirates and is one of the very few books that actually mentions Mary Anne Townsend. I can't wait to read it and learn more about the lady pirate. biggrin

Yay for being able to get off work early today! So, I only have a couple more hours left to my shift. biggrin Then I get to come in late tomorrow morning.

"Ah ha!" exclaimed a young voice, giggling. "Finally a worthy adversary. No chance of escaping me now!"
Mary Anne and Izzy turned hearing the voice behind them, looking at her with confusion before following the bowing rod in her hand to find a clump of mistletoe hanging above their heads. Izzy grumbled in discontent as the young woman watched them with sparkling, mischievous eyes. Mary Anne noticed several other attendees nearby starting to whisper as they noticed the woman's latest victims.
"Well," said Mary Anne, after a moment. "I suppose we can't ruin the holiday festivities, now can we?"
"Most certainly not! Especially if you don't want bad luck to follow you around for next year."
"Not kissing under the mistletoe doesn't bring you bad luck," muttered Izzy.
"Oh, come now, sir," replied the woman, not flustered by his darkening presence. "Don't be such a Scrooge."
"She's quite right, my dear," said Mary Anne, turning towards Izzy and drawing closer to him. She leaned in close, so she could whisper into his ear. "Us pirates need all of the good luck we can get." Then placed her lips upon his.
The young woman giggled in delight and clapped her hands. Mary Anne quickly lifted an arm up to grab the mistletoe that almost whapped Izzy in the head.
"Oh, sorry!" exclaimed the woman, before she skipped away to find her next victims.
"See," said Mary Anne, letting her lips hover his. "That wasn't so bad, now was it, Mr. Hands?"
She could tell he was trying to quickly gather his thoughts and composure. "You're lucky it's you."
Mary Anne chuckled as she finally leaned away. "All in good fun, my dear."
