I am getting irritated with one of our residents. I feel like I'm a broken record player with her because she keeps asking me the same thing over and over despite me clearly explaining why I can't do certain things or whatever. stressed

The tall, golden-haired pirate stepped into the room, her eyes twinkling in delight as she took in the blonde-haired man standing before her. "The Gentleman Pirate," she gleefully said, as she stepped in front of him. "Uh... um, yes," said Stede, uncertainly. "You've... you've heard of me?" "Oh, yes," she replied. Stede blinked at the familiar tone she used in those two words. "You've become quite a popular subject among the tavern talk at pirate ports," she continued. "Oh. Well... that's something." "Indeed. Though I would love to learn what's truth among the various tales I've heard." "I think we can certainly arrange that," said Stede. He tilted his head, "Anything specific that's captured your interest?" "It appears you've made quite an unique friendship with Blackbeard." "Oh," said Stede. His face briefly flickered with a frown as he thought about his last encounter with the man before reestablishing his neutral gaze and raised his chin slightly. "Well... yes.... we have crossed paths." The female pirate stepped closer towards him. Even though he was slightly taller than her, he felt himself slightly cower in her presence. "There's no need to put on a persona, dear," she quietly said to him. "I am quite familiar with Blackbeard. More so than any other pirate who sails the seven seas. No need to act secretive on your... 'adventures' with him." She then winked at him. Stede became flustered at her suggestion and tried to find words to respond but ended up just standing in silence before her. "And this is your crew?" said the pirate, stepping back and gazing around at the colorful individuals around the room. "Yes," said Stede, his chest rising in pride as she followed her gaze. "Excuse me, m'am," said Roach, stepping forward. "No offense intended, m'am, but um... who exactly are you?" "Ah, yes. Forgive me of my manners," she said, giving a slight bow. "I am Mary Anne Townsend, captain of The Odyssey." The crew stood around in silence, exchanging awkward glances. "Oh, you are a captain too?" asked Stede, oblivious to the others' reactions. "How long have you been sailing?" "Sailing? My entire life. But I've been a captain of my own ship for a couple years now." "Oh, wow!" exclaimed Stede. "Maybe you can give me and my crew some pointers than." "I think we can certainly arrange that," smiled Mary Anne, a hint of mischievousness in her eyes as she used Stede's own words back at him.

Izzy stepped up next to Mary Anne, a faint rumble of discontent escaping between his lips. Mary Anne turned and quietly chuckled seeing him staring at Ed and Stede in the distance. "Let it go, Z," said Mary Anne. "The ship's already raised anchor." "You are seriously okay with this?" asked Izzy, looking up at her. She tilted her head giving him a knowing look. "That ship's already sailed, Z. Those two have something that Ed and I never had. And that's okay." She lightly placed her hand on his shoulder, moving her thumb slightly in a comforting motion. After a moment of gazing up at her, he finally let out a breath of defeat as he looked down. "I suppose you're right." "Don't worry. Blackbeard will still be a legendary pirate even with this new development," she said, chuckling. "Hell, I have a feeling he will become even more legendary with the adventures those two will end up having."

Good morning. Today's started off on an interesting foot... can't give details due to HIPAA... but definitely was not what I was hoping to be dealing with.

Last night's Vespertine Winter Ball was so much fun. Even though I didn't actually get to cross paths with the couple friends I knew were attending (though I may have spotted one of them from a distance - hard to know for sure with the lighting and looking around other people), I still had a good time. I am so glad they had the entertainment performers do their acts earlier in the evening than what happened with the Vampire Ball I attended a few years back since I wasn't sure whether I would stay the entire time (especially after the stress I was dealing with at work, as you saw). I had a delicious cocktail of bourbon and hot apple cider mixed, and the snacky foods were good too.

Silvia (my Winter witch persona I was dressing up as) apparently used some winter magic because it's started snowing this morning. Quite pretty to watch even from the postage stamp view through the front doors down on the opposite end of the lobby from the front desk. sweatdrop

It's quite frustrating when the people you are supposed to be calling, so they can assist with emergency concerns suddenly go "Oh, we can't help with that. Sorry." Ugh.
