The wild array of lightning bolts would strike all three Talonflame, the electrical attack proving devastating as all three were sent falling out of the sky, leaving Darts, Rein, and Cera free to flee for the time being.
The reflected Aura Sphere would knock out one of the Clawitzer while the Dragon Pulse would send another flying. Unfortunately the third would save its self with a well timed Aqua Jet sending it airborne, the Clawitzer then firing off a Heal Pulse into the air to restore to fighting form its comrades, particularly a trio of birds.
Now reinvigorated by the Heal Pulse the three Talonflame were once again airborne, however two had backup in the form of an Inkay on each of their backs. The three fire birds would resume their assault as one unleashed a Flamethrower down at Reno and Clara, attempting to trail them with the constant stream of fire. As for the other two they would carry out their Quick Attack assault like before but instead the Inkay on their backs would attempt to latch onto Darts and Cera in hopes of hitting them with a Topsy-Turvy and send their world upside down, literally.
Wasn't it raining over there towards the edge of Lumiose? And did lightning just strike? Strange, seemed like clear skies everywhere else.
Breeze and Demon Wing would prove capable enough to get the Snagems through the Twister maze, a light shining up ahead as they were almost out of the canal system. "A little further and we won't be far from the limits of the scrambler's effects!" Sub informed the others.
However, it would not be that easy as once they made it out underground they would find themselves in the rain, though only raining in this area. Those on Breeze wouldn't have much time to think on this oddity as a bolt of lightning crashed down and threatened to zap them. Crystal and Demon Wing would be spectators to this event as they were just a bit behind, the pair seeing those responsible for this sneak attack. A Manetric standing by a purple haired woman dressed in a skimpy Flare outfit with a visor over her eyes. The woman looked on emotionless as several grunts surrounded her. |

Cera would end up being caught and flipped about before she knew it, her attempts at keeping an ascent going now turning into a very rapid descent towards the hard roads of Lumiose. And it all came too fast for the Mew to stop if she wanted to, dragging Darts along at the moment.
"No, no, no! Not like this!" She yelled as she panicked, desperately trying to set things back right. But with the Inkay on her, not only was it not happening, but the imminent crash was likely to not end well for at least her and Rein if something wasn't done fast. Even the odd storm wasn't noticed, yet.

"Right... as soon as we're in the clear get Claydol ove- what!?"
Further disaster would strike as Breeze, due to her speed, flew straight into the Thunder attack and fell right out of the air. Both the Togekiss and Amaranth were left unconscious in an instant, their escape grinding to an immediate halt.

Demon Wing didn’t even wait for a command from Crystal before he stopped on a near dime, landing and snarling at the group of Flare ahead. Crystal would jump off of Demon Wing and send out Kairos, then look ahead. “Kairos, Demon Wing, catch them, but be careful. In the meantime…” She’d walk forward to stare at Celosia and her group of grunts. “You must be that Celosia person I read about in that report. Not much was mentioned about you, honestly, more about our traitorous member and the core you took. Interesting read, on a side note, quite a fascinating legendary you lot have legends about. Not nearly as many as Sinnoh, my word they have a bunch, but,” she’d comment, bringing out the book she was reading before the group had left for Kalos momentarily as she rambled on. She tilted her head, looking down, then chuckled. “Right, right, yes, you’re right. Gomennasai, I tend to ramble on a bit. And I’m sure you don’t want to hear the ramblings of a crazy cat lady,” she said looking up with a small smile before summoning two translucent orbs, one in each hand. One of the orbs would be thrown out to Manecrtic, forming a link to try and Skill Swap with the Manectric, sending over her Magic Bounce to get his ability. Hopefully, it was the Lightning Rod ability.

As Isaac tumbled from Breeze’s back, he reached for a Pokeball and tossed it out in desperation. “I doubt you can carry me, Konrad, but try to slow my fall, please!” As the tiny bat Pokemon dived frantically towards its falling trainer, something remarkable happened. It began as a small glow, from deep within the eyes, full of determination. As the distance closed, that glow grew brighter, eyes now shining with a brilliant light. The gleaming light enveloped Konrad, as he caught up with the rapidly descending Isaac, and reached out with its feet that, seemed to grow bigger as they latched onto the trainer’s shoulder. Unfurling a much larger wingspan, that still shone with the purest, brilliant light, Konrad let loose a mighty bellow as he arrested Isaac’s fall, and with a flap of those mighty wings, swooped the pair back into the air, away from the storm and out of danger. “Hell, Yah!” Isaac cheered at the newly evolved Noivern, pumping his fist into the air in celebration, “I’m making you the biggest sandwich ever when we get home.”

Cera, Darts, and Rein would crash into the ground, the Inkay unlatching themselves from Cera and Darts afterwards as they floated above them and began to flash the spots on their heads rapidly to signal for Flare reinforcements, the SUVs from earlier finding their way around the debris and blazing towards the downed Snagems.
The Dive Ball would smack into the Clawitzer in midair, sucking it up inside and then falling to the rooftop shaking afterwards. Clara would barely have time to see if the capture was successful let alone pick it up before the Flamethrower came her way, the flames singing her arm and hand when she went to pick up the Dive Ball. Hope it was worth it.
Clara's Tyrantrum would eventually come across Cera, Darts, and Rein stranded on the ground with the Inkay above them, Reno and Clara clearly seeing a swarm of Flare troops coming towards them from the inner city. There was only one way to go, towards the concentrated storm near the city's edge. They couldn't buy themselves much more time, Flare was swarming this city in increasing numbers.
Speaking of, those other two Clawitzer had gotten back up by now and were launching volley after volley of Water Pulse at the Snagems from a safe distance, and in just a few more minutes those Talonflame were going to come back around. As Reno said, "Must go faster".
Sub was thrown off of Breeze's back as well, having also been struck by the Thunder and while it was certainly painful and shocking and left him smelling a bit charred and twitchy he was alas alive and conscious, however very sore as he tried to pick himself off the ground. "This is really going to hurt in the morning..." He moaned as he struggled to his feet, the man bruised and banged up at this point.
Celosia sneered as Crystal executed her Skill Swap, robbing her Manetric of its Lighting Rod ability, thus rending her plan of Thundering them into oblivion null and void. With an annoyed sigh the Flare scientist would speak. "So you've heard of me, I am flattered. Not surprising though, Team Flare is pretty popular these days, everyone wants to join us, but I guess you found that out already." The woman laughed, taking a jab at Crystal and Snagem in general.
"It's too bad you're a lame mutant, you have the spunk to fit right into Flare. Tell you what, give us a contribution of five million Pokedollars and I'll let you be my personal lab Rattata. Sure beats being exterminated like the rest of the ugly in this world, huh?" Celosia said, giving off a smug smile.
"I don't think you're going to say yes though, you are ugly inside and out and all ugly and lame things must be removed from the world. Crunch!" Celosia commanded of her Manetric as she pointed at Crystal, the hound racing towards the girl in a flash as it then jumped at her, maw dripping with Dark energy.
The Flare grunts near her would stand around though as two of them release Golbats, the twin bats making a beeline for the knocked out Amaranth and Breeze, the bats licking their fangs as they aimed to suck the life right out of their unconscious bodies. |

Leaping off the Tyrantrum and landing near the collapsed pile of people that he knew to be his friends, Reno turned to the Tyrantrum before giving a snap of his fingers and a quick mental prod to send the Tyrantrum rushing back to pick up its trainer and get her to safety. Throwing a Pokeball down as he went to work, the Inkay would find itself now facing down with a Cloyster that greeted the octopi with a blast of Icicle Spears aiming to blow the Psychic type away from the pile of people.
As this happened, Reno would find himself staring at two motorcycles that appeared to still be running, one a rusted looking junker coated in sand while the other seemed to be the more modern version of this one-wheeled motorcycle. "Who would drive that? Its a piece of junk." Reno dismissively told the inanimate hovercycle, stepping towards the sleek and silver hovercycle before a gout of flame erupted from the sky and engulfed the vehicle with little care for Reno's plans. Staring at the now burning vehicle, Reno would sigh and hop onto the rusty motorcycle as he adjusted himself in efforts to shake off the sand and get more comfortable.
Giving it a few test revs before taking off back to where Darts, Cera, and Rein were piled up, Reno slid to a stop next to them before slapping the metal sidecar with his metal hand. "All aboard the speedy hover-junker! We're getting the hell out of here!" Reno called out, quickly returning Tesei to his Pokeball before giving another few revs. Once he was certain that he had his passengers on board, teh admin would let it rip and take off at break neck speed down the streets towards the freak storm and where he guessed the others would be. See what they thought of the new wheels.

Darts lands in the sidecar with a 'flump' and swung a red beam from his Pokeball as soon as his head clears long enough to allow him to get a bead on his Gengar and pull it back into its capsule with a disappointing cackle from the Ghost type before Reno pulls off. "Reno!" He shouts over the wind whistling by their head. "Do you even have a licence?!" |
