"So, you left the entire original crew of the Revenge on that little island... except for these two?" she said, finishing tightening the belts on the corset she had put on. Her blouse was elegantly held in place by it, the sleeves flapping around her arms like the sails in the breeze. The skirt she wore accented perfectly and still allowed her room for movement. "Yeah, that's the gist of it," said Izzy, shifting his position on the door frame next to her. "Why them?" "The hell if I know." "Quite the interesting pair though." "Don't get attached," warned Izzy. "Aw, is my dear Sea Dad getting jealous?" she teased, smiling at him mischievously. "Mary Anne..." he exasperated. "Maybe you should take your own advice, Izzy," said Mary Anne, leaning towards him. "Someone might say you've become a bit too 'attached' to a certain black haired pirate." Izzy looked up at her with wide eyes but didn't say anything in argument. She smiled sympathetically, placing a hand on his shoulder as she pushed away from the door frame. "It's okay," she said. "We all fall in love with him. Some of us just fall harder than others." She stepped out into the sunlight before turning back towards him. "Now, be a dear, and properly introduce me to our new friends."

Four more posts until I surpass Mama Ame's post count. xd After years of checking, I will finally be able to fulfill this silly little quest of mine. Why? No reason really. Just is a friend's name and just wanted something fun to focus on while posting nonsense here. sweatdrop

KRYPTYD: the feminine urge to hyperfixate over an old man and download 1000+ pictures of him and look at them lovingly in your spare time *looks at folders* Hmm... so... which one will it be today? xd
Well, obviously right now it's Taika. And he's not really that old. Not that much older than myself. Which is actually saying something when it comes to my usual celebrity crushes, lol.

I have to say after re-engaging with some of the literature I read when I was younger, I'm starting to realize how much LGBTQ+ vibes I would've been giving off when saying I enjoyed some of them and considered them my favorite at the time. Like... "Mistress of Dragons"? Back then I was just like "This is an awesome fantasy book set in a world of dragons" when others would be like "It's about a society of women warriors who are in relations with each other and just happen to live in a world of dragons." And then I've been reading through the Bloody Jack series. I was just like "Oh, it's a cool young adult pirate series with a female lead." But as I'm reading more of the series, I'm starting to go, "Oh... so this Jacky... she's not completely straight. She does all of these romantic gestures and interactions with other women and doesn't make a big deal about it. Sure, she keeps claiming she's only in love with Jaimy and he's 'the one' but she doesn't wave off the feelings she's got for these other folks."
Definitely enlightening to say the least.

So, I just looked up what "Mary Anne" means... or more like "Maryanne" (also written as "Marianne")... and guess what it means? "Star of the sea" Like... come on! You're just adding to my whole OFMD! version of her with this tidbit.

From the various pirate-based material I've been reading, this actually is quite true. Quite a few seafaring folk ended up running aground either accidentally or purposely. Like it happened several times during Blackbeard's final battle. He lead them through this narrow channel but the tide/water level was a bit low at the time of day they were going through, so everyone was scrambling hoping to be the first to become ungrounded so they could either escape (Blackbeard) or capture their prize.
And what's even funnier is... the historical Israel Hands actually purposely ran a ship aground. I think several times in fact, if I remember correctly. xd Now that would be an amusing parallel to make in future material for OFMD - Izzy running a ship aground.
