21-30: Well that didn't go as planned. You thought you were pulling in a whopper, but instead all it turns out to be is an ancient, slimey, and very unsalvageable boot tangled up with some driftwood. There's nothing edible about this--not even any shelled seagrubs. To top it off, any fishing you do the rest of the day will either result in no bites or catches. -15 points
The boot was... disgusting. Kiadrath sniffed it idly, before nuzzling against Keris' shoulder. Keris turned it over, slowly pouring out sand and seawater -- but sadly nothing else. Not even a seashell. Sadly, the rest of the day would prove to be just as fruitless.

You fish with a net, and while there were a few tangles early on, you find your stride. Within your haul you find a rare but very meaty and very pregnant flatfish. This thing is ugly but its meat is known to be smoked--and its eggs are a true treat even Lord Holders pay a pretty penny for. Casgar and the kitchenfolk will be more than pleased! +15 points
Josen was a bit better at fishing than he'd have expected, given he had no real training to it. While he wasn't the only one tending to the net, as he would make no illusion to being strong enough to lift a full one up by himself.
But within a few hauls, it seemed their small group had found something particularly tasty and worth having in the net. Most female seafood was tossed back for the sake of population control but this one? She was going into a few bellies.

Seuafaith had been an eager helper when it came to fishing - something that T'shim was happy to keep the small bronze focused upon if it kept him from running rampant and immediately into trouble. That was a real possibility that he didn't want to deal with in the middle of another task.
To reward his dragon for his efforts, T'shim tossed him one of the (admittedly smaller) fish they'd brought up together. It wasn't a large haul, but one modest fish was food for a few people, so every little bit was worth the effort.

Karinne was sort of sick of fish, if she were honest. But she knew it was important to keep at it and sitting out on the beach with Hrimnith and, when the weather was good, occasionally the girls made for a nice time.
It made for a good haul, just keeping at it, and the wait time was filled with her daughters. She'd take what she could get, no matter what front it was on.

Wandering the beaches, you are able to bring back some shellfish, mussels, cockels, and clams. Some might be served raw, while others will be boiled and turned into various chowders and other dishes. Variety is the spice of life, after all.
Amahno may have been a decent fisherman, but he also knew when going out to sea wasn't the best thing to do in a day. The weather had been looking a little off to him so instead he'd opted for rolling up his pants and pacing the shallows of the shoreline.
There was plenty to be had from it, at least, and Joudai seemed just as excited about the haul as he hoped everybody back at the Weyr would be. It would be a nice switch for a few meals. Not that he disliked fish. Yum!

Vetica had been doing more fishing with Shanaloth's wings hurt - the green wouldn't be flying for a few weeks at the least and since that meant no drills and more free time she'd been spending more of her time along the beach doing some fishing. It felt productive.
But while she'd come prepared to fish that day, the sight of the beach teaming with spiderclaws had the young woman (carefully) dumping her fishing pole and getting on gathering some of them up. Fortunately once you had more than 2 of them it got easier to keep them corralled. It'd make for a good meal once she got them all back.

Thaideem had been so bad at fishing the week before that she was ready to do anything else when it came to the chore. And that doesn't mean avoiding doing it, Thaideem informed Zegurath, in case her dragon had any idea that she was trying to get out of working. She'd have hardly shirked any task that was of benefit to their home.
A little coastal foraging would do both woman and dragon well, as with a little assistance the pair brought home a nice sea wherry. Oh, she was so looking forward to maybe getting a bit of that after the effort it took!

Since they had done well on the beach last time, Pemli decided to try again this seven day. She began to collect anything she could on the beach, that she knew would be edible. Then she heard peeping and noticed a little green firelizard trying to get her attention. Hmm, she knew the Weyr needed more food, but the little one definitely wanted to be fed too. And the thought of it being hungry did not sit well with her.
You still have half a meat roll from lunch,Ningesth reminded her rider. She knew Her's couldn't resist, so she might as well give her a suggestion.
Thank you, Ningesth dear,she smiled, pulling it out and broke off a piece, to feed to the flit. She watched as it attached to the food and began to chow down.
