"When I made the arrangements for this dinner meeting, I had expected it would be just the two of us," said the gentleman glancing from Otto to her. "I didn't realize we would be having company." "Forgive me. I know I should have called you beforehand but it was sort of a last minute change in plans." "I see." "I can assure you this will affect nothing on our ability to discuss my work. She is as familiar with it as I am. There will be no need to keep secrets from her." "Very well then," replied the gentleman, gesturing towards a table in the distance with a 'Reserved' placard sitting on it. "I suppose we should take our seats and start then."
The two of them followed the gentleman's lead as they reached the table. Otto glanced towards the gentleman with disdain seeing him sit before she had. She patted his hand as indication to let it go as he pulled the chair out for her and sat elegantly into it. After a moment, a server had delivered their drinks and taken their meal orders. "I hope you have been made aware of what this meeting is about then?" said the gentleman, glancing in her direction. "Yes, Otto has made sure to keep me up to date on everything regarding his work." "Even if I hadn't, she makes sure to do her homework," added Otto. "I must be honest. I didn't realize Otto had a daughter who was following the same scientific path as him." "That...." said Christine. "That felt weird.... but I'll allow it." Otto's seriousness instantly broke as he laughed in response, almost choking on the sip of scotch he had taken.
"I'm sorry. Have I missed a joke somewhere?" asked the gentleman, looking shocked at Otto's reaction. Christine chuckled as she watched Otto for a moment before he waved his hand in indication he was okay and just needed a moment to recompose himself. "Not exactly a joke, per se," replied Christine, turning to look back at the gentleman. "Just a common misconception. You see... Dr. Otto Octavius is my uncle." "Oh," replied the gentleman, his cheeks momentarily reddening with embarrassment. "Now that we've gotten past that little ice breaker, perhaps we should actually attempt to take care of business," suggested Otto, finally gathering enough composure to join the conversation again. "Yes. Perhaps that will be wise." Christine raised her glass to take a sip, hiding her smirk.

*sighs* I really don't know what to do for our new resident. She keeps asking what she should do but keeps declining any options we offer. But she's insistent she needs to be told what to do. xp She's so cute and sweet... but everyone's starting to get tired of dealing with the same conversation every few minutes.

Well... she didn't completely reject one of the books I offered for her to read.
I really think she's just wanting constant companionship... which unfortunately we don't have the staff to constantly provide. whee

Just gonna post some Alfred Molina stuff because there isn't really anything new otherwise.

I had to re-watch Chocolat the other day just because I realized I had seen Alfred Molina in it. Such an enjoyable film.
