We're having our resident holiday party this Wednesday. Now I have to figure out what I'm going to wear to it. xd

"Hi there. What can I get started for you?" asked the barista. "I'll take a chai tea and one of your vanilla scones," she replied, as she stepped forward to the counter. After finishing her transaction, she moved over to the side waiting for her items to be ready. "You're not from around here, are you?" She turned to look in the direction where the deep, husky voice had come from finding a tall, dark-haired man wearing a cowboy sitting partially in the shadow looking up from a folded newspaper at her."Is it that obvious?" she asked. She wondered how much different she sounded to those in the area who didn't have an obvious New York accent. Having grown up in the Pacific Northwest, she never really thought she had one aside from the few times her Southern heritage flared up. "Just haven't seen you around here before, that's all," he replied. She felt her heart flutter as she flashed a smile at her and a mischievous sparkle seemed to lighten his brown eyes. "I'm visiting the area," she responded. "Ah, so I was right." He leaned forward, setting the newspaper onto the table next to him. "What brings a pretty angel like yourself to these parts?" "Here's your tea, miss," replied the barista. "Thank you," she said turning to grab her items, slightly startled by the voice. She didn't realize she was focusing so much on the charming man. "Well?" he prompted her when she turned back to face him and drew closer. "I heard about the area and finally had the opportunity to make my way over here," she replied. "So, you're not coming to see a boyfriend or anything like that?" "Why are you asking?" "Sorry, I don't mean to pry," he apologized. "Just curious on whether I might have the chance of spending the day... or evening with you. Could even be just to go out for coffee." He glanced over at the tea in her hand. "Or tea, if you prefer." "You don't even know me." "True," he replied. "But I am never wrong when I get the sense I've found someone from my soul tribe." "Soul tribe?" "You don't believe in such a thing?" "I'm open to the concept. Just rare for me to hear someone mention such things so casually."

"So, what we know each other in my future?" he asked. She sighed as she combed a hand through her hair, "It's complicated." "Doesn't sound promising," he responded. "Oh, it's a good complicated," she clarified. "It's just... well... I don't want to say too much and cause some major change to what is to come. Spoilers and all that." He chuckled. "Yeah... I guess I can understand that."
