She turned hearing a rough voice call out her name. The wedding party members and attendees turned to look at the man running up to them. Her eyes widened in surprise as she took in who had rushed up to them.
"Jeffrey?" she exclaimed, almost in a whisper.
She almost couldn't believe that the man was standing before her, if she hadn't crossed paths with him earlier in the week at the cafe. The corners of her mouth turned up as she observed he seemed to staring at her like an image from a dream as well. She realized that to be expected seeing as she was quite dressed up compared to the casual attire she had been in before.
"I'm sorry for my late arrival," he finally spoke. "I remembered you had mentioned attending a wedding at this location and was concerned about not having a date to fulfill your wedding party duties. And I just couldn't accept the fact of you not having anyone by your side. So... if it's not too late... and if you are up for it... could I be your date?"
She could feel several of the wedding party members and guests turn their gazes quickly over to her. Did they know who this man standing amongst them was? Or was he just some random guy to them and they thought they were seeing a romantic story unfold before them? She stepped closer to him and a smile widening upon her face.
"I would be honored to have you by my side," she said, taking his hand into her own.
