I mean, sure, it would hurt like crap. But it would end eventually.
Unlike the second answer which would mean dieing of starvation. Which is much worse than A.
Would you rather get trapped in a cage full of alligators in which your only way to escape is to wrestle an alligator or get trapped in a cage full of booby traps in which your only way of escape is to make it to the other side of the cage?
