18 - Mercutio - 19 damage, bloodied
18 - stench kow - 32 damage, bloodied -2 to attacks, marked by Fawks

9 - Colbertron - 10 damage
6 - al-mi'raj3 - 14 damage, bloodied, marked by van

Colbertron fixes the snail with a stare only a talk show host can manage, but then realises it has no eyes! That throws him and the whole interview is blown, maybe next episode.

The rabbit next to Van does its best to stab the hell out of him in return for that thron thing he did. It's not strong enough to do much more than break down the resistance afforded by his warforged awesomeness, but that's enough to give it reason to bound away like nobody's business. The other surviving rabbit circles around behind the snail, then charges colbertron. Unfortunately his truthiness is far more than it can handle, and it burrows into the beanstalks in shame.

The mole makes a few more mole noises, which doesn't have nearly the same effect on his compatriots. It does have an odd effect on Fawks however, first seeming to echo in his mind, then becoming the distinct sensation that something is trying to dig its way out of his skull. Both painful and awkward, super.

And then Vanguard was left alone with the Kow. Which was not so great for him, but also not so great for the Kow. Or hopefully it wasn't anyway. While he might have suddenly been unable to do his full damage potential, he was certainly capable of one thing.

Or at least he was hopefully capable of thrashing the kow. Who could tell at this point. He wasn't happy with it at least, and that much would show as Vanguard watched it carefully and shifted, nearly as stoic as ever. His armor, however, seemed to have no such inability to display emotion. The leather twisted and what resembled faces twisted into clear mockeries of angry or terrified visages and howled furiously at the kow.

And as it did Vanguard started moving around it. Not cautiously, but openly circling around the creature at a hustle, drawing it's ire. It could hit him, if it could overcome the armor shrieking at its face, but it couldn't stop him from circling all the way around, then out of its reach.

And then he'd move out of its stench.

The kow was dangerous, but it was the frontline. At least to a twisted old warforged logic, that didn't just mean it was the biggest and baddest taking the first licks at them. It meant that it was protecting the squishies! Archers and generals, important things that would be a lot easier to fell.

And as he moved up against the rabbit that had tried to flee him again, Vanguard knew just where the general/archer was. The twisting motion of his spear splitting into a series of thorny vines would be familiar enough by now as he lashed out at the mole.

((Fawks can go ahead, but I'm reserving ending my turn until I see how the OA and attack on mole go, so I can decide if and how I'd want to spend my action point.))

Assumably striking and dragging the creature to him, Vanguard would gravely lash out with his primal power, marking anything that was still alive.

With Fawks having 5 hit points left and being bloodied he is feeling a little dizzy. He attempts to finish off the Kow with a brutal strike from Frostbite and shake the off his sleepiness.

Brutal Strike on the Kow and it is Marked.

Action Point

Healing Surge so Fawks has 15 hp and is still bloodied.

Van is missed my the kow, clearly intimidated by his psychotic armor. The mole is ripped out of its hole by the thorny vines of the warforged warden, but survives. Once it's out of the hole you realise it's pretty big for a mole, about three feet long. And I guess I was wrong about it being a minion. Ooops. ninja

Fawks's brutal strike may well be, but it's also pretty damn inaccurate, pounding a pothole into the ground at the kow's feet. Maybe you should give that another go.

((Van's turn goes well and as planned. Fawks misses, but brute strike, which i assume is what you meant, is a reliable power. So, yeah. I have fawks at 13 damage, 24/37HP. you had 17 damage before your turn, then you took 5 at the beginning of your turn, for a total of 22 damage to you, then you surge away 9 for the 13 above.
Van, are you popping your point or can i get my monster on?))

So it wasn't so little after all. And it could still shoot things at his friends. Vanguard was blocking it from doing that a bit, but it was still the archer and the officer. He'd broken enemy ranks. Now he was going to break the enemy order and formation and come back to help his lines mop up the remains.

At least that was how the battle was mapped out in his head.

He was vaguely aware that he was not on a big battlefield anymore, but just a little field with a bunch of bizarre animals attacking some ragtag new friends.

...a battle was a battle he supposed.
