Shadow Hunter, Silent Hunter The forest is yours alone Night Hunter, Quiet Hunter None disturb your hunt Joshua flushed at Kiro's snickering. He wasn't sure what Tianara had said, but he was pretty sure the two were making fun of him. "Never mind then. Forget I said anything." He muttered to himself, looking away.
He glanced up though, hearing Mac's words. He shifted nervously, grateful for Tianara's suggestion. He didn't like when Mac talked like that. It always gave him a sense of foreboding. "That's a good idea. Aria still needs to be warned. Could you take care of that Mac? Aria and Allen both have a hint of magic in their blood. We were worried that whatever's after the ocean children might mistake the magic about them." Without really waiting for an answer, he hurried into the cabin. Grinning, Tianara watched him go. "I think we embarrassed him," she whispered to her brother. He merely chuckled and shook his head.
"Apparently he's forgotten what you looked like when he met you," the man replied after a moment or two - Tianara had already related all the details of their meeting to her sibling. "I suppose we can't just go that way. We'll scare him."
Tianara laughed softly. "Yes, by all means let's spare his feelings. Hope those clothes can get wet, Kiro."

Shadow Hunter, Silent Hunter The forest is yours alone Night Hunter, Quiet Hunter None disturb your hunt Joshua hadn't forgotten what Tianara looked like when they first met. He was just hoping to avoid that embarrassing situation again. Back inside the cabin, he quickly gathered up his scuba gear. He changed into a wetsuit, knowing it would help keep out any chill in the deeper waters. Hoisting the tank in one hand, he grabbed flippers and mask in the other. After running a quick mental check, he stepped out of the cabin and headed back down to the beach. Setting the stuff down, he sat down just a little bit away from the siblings. "Whenever you're ready." He told them with a shrug. Beneath the Blood moon The forest you watch Beneath the Blood sky The forest you hunt

Mac nodded, "I'll find her" he said. He gave them all a smile, and quickly darted off into the woods again. He was pretty determined, and was ready to face anything. The woods were pretty in the day time.
Just then, someone appeared in his path. A boy in his late teens, and not at all a threat. "So, I didn't know you were having your own little fun away from home. You usually are on the computer when you have free time" the guy said with a tone of 'I caught you'.
Mac stopped and walked up to him, "Hey Mike, I'm sorry, but I'm really busy at the moment" he explained, "I have to find my friend".
"Oh, I know what has been going on" Mike explained, "I have been watching you for awhile now, ever since Dao told me something was up" he smiled. "You have to remember I'm always going to find out. Don't worry about explaining, I know everything, or most of everything".
Mac didn't care, but he knew his best friend was like that. "Well, do what you want, I'm going to find Aria. You can come if you want, but I'm not sure how the others will react to you when they find out you know" he explained, resuming his walk on the path.
Mike gave a quick look back to the beach, and then began following Mac.

((OOC: Dude, Mac's friend is a creepy ******** stalker. O.o If I had a friend who did that, I'd be like "SOMEONE GET ME A RESTRAINING ORDER!" Also, when they find out, Narcis will kill him. Seriously. XD))
Tianara grinned at Joshua. "We're ready now," she replied. She didn't look around to Kiro to see if she was right, and she didn't have to - he was nodding. With a brief smile at the two of them, she waded into the water, seeming not to notice as its coolness eddied and swirled around her.
Kiro followed her in, and she waved him ahead. Once he vanished under the water, she turned back to look at Joshua. Flashing him a grin and waving for him to 'come on', she turned and ran on into the water, disappearing under it as well.

"Alright." Joshua nodded and waded into the water. While still in the shallows, he slipped on the last of the gear then slid underwater. He kicked hard to catch up to Tianara. A thrill ran through him. He loved being underwater like this, but he liked it even more when he knew he was going to see more of the creatures that "didn't exist". Feeling almost carefree, he followed Tianara as she and Kiro knew the way better than him. As they swam though, he kept an eye on Kiro, making sure the man was doing okay.

((OOC: *wrinkles fabric of space and time* whee ))
Tianara was vastly relieved to have finally arrived at the cavern. By the time they'd gotten there, Kiro had become so pale he was nearly translucent, and his struggle to move normally had been evident. The moment her clan had seen the man, and the condition he was in, he'd been whisked away to their healer.
Tianara and Joshua had been left at the entrance for a minute or two while they got Kiro arranged, but at last there was the sound of someone coming back. Tianara's face immediately lit up. "Mayere?" she called. "Mother?"
The mermaid that approached did indeed show some distinct similarity to Allen's statuette - one might say they were identical. Blonde, beautiful, with shining green scales, the only apparent difference was that this mermaid was clearly sad and worked up.
Immediately upon seeing Tianara, the blonde mermaid sped to her and held her closely for a moment, babbling away in their bubbly tongue. Tianara's eyes went from sympathetic to shocked to horrified to disbelieving to grief-stricken all in the matter of about five minutes. She shook her head slowly, repeatedly, answering in the same language.
Then they looked at Joshua. The mermaid showed some evident distress, but she didn't seem worried enough by Joshua to leave Tianara, and the girl seemed intent on soothing her.

Shadow Hunter, Silent Hunter The forest is yours alone Night Hunter, Quiet Hunter None disturb your hunt Joshua was glad to see how fast the merfolk responded to Kiro's condition. It helped ease his mind considerably. He waited patiently, watching everything around him with fascination. When the mermaid appeared, Joshua had to take a second look at her. Tianara had been right about how much the statuette Allen had looked like the real thing.
He hovered to the side, watching as the pair talked. He couldn't help but feel like an outsider here. He couldn't help anyone and any snatches of conversation he heard were in another language. Watching Tianara, he couldn't help but frown, wondering what was going on. He hated not knowing like this, but he didn't want to pry into what was obviously a tender subject right now.
He was suddenly surprised when they looked at him. Joshua had thought they'd forgotten he was even here, so wrapped up in whatever their talk was. His amber eyes flickered from Tianara to her mother and back again. "Should I just go back?" He asked quietly, not wanting to interrupt them. He felt.....unneeded here. Unwanted. An outside who was intruding. Beneath the Blood moon The forest you watch Beneath the Blood sky The forest you hunt

Tianara's wide dark blue eyes examined him briefly. She hesitated, looking down at her mother for a moment, and then shook her head. "No," she said. "It's all right. You can stay if you want to." Her voice held an echo of the grief that had been in her eyes.
The blonde glanced over at him and gave him the tiniest of smiles. It didn't reach her eyes. Then she looked back to Tianara, and spoke again for a while. Tianara listened and nodded, listened, nodded and turned to Joshua. "She begs your pardon," Tianara said matter-of-factly. "It's been so long since she was in the presence of any human except for me and Kiro that she's mostly forgotten how to speak your tongue. She apologizes for seeming rude. It's just...a," her face closed, "a family issue has her very worked up right now."
She didn't elaborate, and the mermaid (who looked much too young to have raised two humans, but then didn't most of them?) didn't seem in any hurry to correct this oversight.

Shadow Hunter, Silent Hunter The forest is yours alone Night Hunter, Quiet Hunter None disturb your hunt Joshua had to wonder about the hesitation before Tianara said he could stay. Maybe it would be best if he left? Tianara had said it was a family issue and he had no wish to pry into it. Yet despite it all, he found himself wanting to stay, to do what he could. There wasn't really anything he could do back on shore.
He sighed and nodded to Tianara - He would stay. Glancing at the blonde mermaid, he inclined his head in a kind of bow. At least she had appologized for not speaking direcly to him. And it made sense. Knowledge not used was often lost. "Is there anything I can do?" He asked quietly. Beneath the Blood moon The forest you watch Beneath the Blood sky The forest you hunt

The blonde mermaid bubbled at him for a while, and Tianara listened intently. Then she shook her head. "No," she said softly. "She thanks you very much, but the damage has already been done. Unless it is possible that you know a healer stronger than our own." Eventually, Tianara decided to just come clean and fill in the blanks for him. "It's Adamantia. She went wandering a little too far and got caught in a cruise-ship propeller."
She wondered if Joshua would remember her, the little blonde mergirl who was - amazingly - younger than he was. "She's not dead, but..." Her lips trembled a little bit. "She's suffering, and our only current healer is young and untrained. He's not strong enough to make it much better for her. They don't know what to do." Her gaze lowered. "Neither do I. And bringing Kiro here might just make it worse, since the healer will have two patients to split his magic between."

The Sahagin wrecked havoc upon the ship as Nira watched from her lair. The captain radioed for help. "Someone out there? You're not going to believe this, but a sea monster is attacking our ship!" he went on, babbling more and more. The creature mindlessly kept on.
Mac and Mike went on to find Aria. "Now, if my thoughts are right, she should be home" Mac said to himself. He kept a steady pace, not caring if Mike was with him. Mike after all was just as important as he was, since they used to fight demons and whatnot before they moved to the coast. Mike only became stalker-ish on the fact that their friends needed protecting when they least expected it. Mike was just as young looking as Mac, but more on the boy-ish side.
Mike apollogized to Mac, "I'm sorry for spying on you, but I really don't know 'everything' that is going on, I just wanted to sound smart" he giggled. He had his two daggers strapped to his belt and already looked battle savvy.
They made it to Aria's house finally. Mac went up to the door and knocked. "Please be home" he said quietly. He had a sudden feeling that something was happening in town.
((Hey, about this time, like some protection forces like the coast guard are going to be going out there to help the ship))

Shadow Hunter, Silent Hunter The forest is yours alone Night Hunter, Quiet Hunter None disturb your hunt Joshua sighed. It was highly doubtful he knew a healer who could do better than one of the merfolk's own. When Tianara explained everything, he went bone white, amber eyes wide. How could he not remember the young mermaid? The fact that she was younger than him was certain something worth remembering, but he couldn't help but remember her bold, inquisitive nature. Filled with curiosity, much like his own. "Will.....Will she be alright?" He had to know. He shifted fretfully, feeling more helpless than ever. "I wish there was something I could do! Something to help!" He burst out suddenly. Beneath the Blood moon The forest you watch Beneath the Blood sky The forest you hunt

Shadow Hunter, Silent Hunter The forest is yours alone Night Hunter, Quiet Hunter None disturb your hunt ((Um....Lessee if I can explain this snarl. Basically, there's a war on the horizon, seafolk vs humans. All the merfolk are doing their best to try and avoid the fighting. Something has been attacking the ocean children, hurting and killing some. Joshua and Tianara just took Kiro home only to find out that one of the young mermaids has been hurt. Mac is off to warn Aria and Allen of the danger threatening anyone with magic, of which they have a tiny bit. Um....and during the night, something called a Dark One attacked, trying to break their minds and make them a soulless creature like itself.
Any questions? I'll try to answer them as best I can but it's gotten to such a thick plotline.
