I've never had trouble matching plushies to my avatar.
I have more trouble matching the living animals.

It depends on the mood I'm in and how my computer is acting as to the ease of finding the right outfit or not. Hehe!

The trick is to know what colors will work with it beforehand, and then making a mental note.
And then if its a donation or evolving item, throwing that out the window and trying something new.

I usually just go through my inventory and try on stuff till I find what I like. Sometimes I have a key idea though.
