 I'm happy about it too because I just made myself some "fairy tinsel" hair barrettes and one set is a pretty blue color. ((Originally I was going to do the dark rainbow color when my co-worker first showed me the image of the colors, but when I saw it in person, it just looked brown rather than a rainbow effect. So, I switched over to blue instead.)) I figured I would wear the blue ones for an Allura cosplay. So, wearing some "fairy tinsel" for a Faywild-themed event will be perfect.

Plus, with me having to change into my dress after work, I wanted something that would be quick to switch into. Easier to braid my hair with some fairy tinsel, than fighting with putting on a wig. I never like having to put on a wig in such a constricted amount of time.

Another reason why I wanted to do Allura instead of either of the other two characters is because I had a feeling some of the other attendees might do them. As fun as it is to see different people's interpretations of the same character, I wanted to do a character that I can identify as being my own, rather than one of many. It goes back to the idea of who is my equivalent among the characters.
Certain members - due to iconic cosplays they've done or the number of cosplays of one particular character - are easily identified as being a certain character. Kay is Keyleth. Emma is Beau. Jiselle is Percy. So on and so forth.

As much as I love Keyleth - and still plan on doing a few more Keyleth-based cosplays - I would love to find another character others will associate with me.
At the first meetup outside of a con setting, I did a very casual cosplay of Allura. Hence the reason why I'm wanting to return to her. I want to do more cosplay versions of her, including an actual official cosplay, which I plan on doing.

I didn't do too much yesterday for the holiday. At the assisted living I work at, we have a special Valentine lunch - grilled steak with baked potato (with sour cream & chives), asparagus, and dinner roll, and a delicious chocolate cake/strawberry whipped cream dessert. Some staff members were passing out valentines to the residents; one staff member put on a Valentine bear suit and was walking around giving chocolates to the residents.
Originally I thought of going to see a movie but after the stress of the day, I just wanted to go home instead. So, I had my leftover steak as my dinner and watched stuff on TV - the last episode of iZombie and a couple movies.

All I can say is I'm starting to get a bit sweet-ed out with all of the candy I've been getting though. It's one thing when you can share some of it with others (read: parents) but when you're the only person in the place, stuff tends to last longer.
And I'm still dealing with my "sugar" ant issue, so that puts a damper on keeping snacks around.

Looks like Gaia is running behind once again with their holiday event stuff. Oh, sure, they've got the forum and fortune teller portion up... but the main attraction is yet to come. It better be worth the wait.

Tonight is game night. Hopefully it'll boost my mood up a bit.
I've been feeling a bit low lately. I don't know if it's because of the weather - rain, rain, and even more rain. If it's because of stress at work (especially with working back to back shifts between my two jobs). Or just missing the interaction with people outside of a work setting.

Last night I splurged and purchased the Her Universe Thirteenth Doctor outfit from Hot Topic. Ever since I saw the episode of the Thirteenth Doctor wearing the purple version of her shirt and saw Hot Topic had the entire outfit, I decided I wanted to do a cosplay of her. Plus there's a tea bag I have where the outside says it's best to drink wearing a fez. I want to do a picture set in cosplay while wearing my Fez... so... whee

I've been seeing the group debuting NoFlutter's Sailor Senshi fairy designs the past few days... and I'm seriously considering doing a version of my own senshi. It looks like an easy outfit to put together. It's just a matter of me finalizing the look of what I would do with my own senshi. heart
