Amberpants I haven't seen too many sci fi movies recently. The best one I have seen (and actually remember) is Serenity. Yes, I'm a big Firefly fan. Glad to see another browncoat! Serenity all the way! Jayne is my main man! Of course I also love Star Wars (New Hope is the best ever!), but really, who doesn't?

love the original Dune movie, the remake and Children of Dune also love Serenity (it answered many questions) but my favorite has to be the one/ones that answered the age old question...
who would win in a fight? Alien or Predator Alien vs Predator Aliens vs Predator-Requiem

Do you ever wonder what happens to the words that we send
Stargate, for sure. biggrin I love that movie a lot. Aliens and Alien 3, those movies were the first ones to scare the crap our of me when I was a kid. biggrin
Do they bend, do they break, from the flight that they take and come back together again

I loved The Day After Tomorrow. It simply rocked. Is that considered a sci-fi? hehe.

My ultimate favourite is Serenity, though I also like the original Star Wars trilogy a lot, and for some odd reason Planet of the Apes - the original one. XD I love that movie. Maybe it's because of the kissing monkeys, but it spoke to me. 3nodding We watched it in Sociology.

I think it's crazy to think that somehow Thatch got back to Earth before the Captain. Maybe he found another pod? ~Margem

I think my most favorite Sci-Fi movie would have to be "Stargate SG-1". I had started watching the episodes before I knew that the movie was out first, but (after watching the movie) the episodes made more sense.
Another one would have to be the "Back to the Future" series. Gotta love messing time up! ~Margem

Back to the Future Trilogy would be my first. They're great and funny as well as scientific.
I like Next, the 2007 sci-fi thriller starring Nicolas Cage, and the Day the Earth Stood Still. I've seen the REAL robot from that movie. They are also making a newer version.
