...:: Meeting Tehya ::...

Citlalli was tired. She had spent her whole life on the outskirts of her tribe, an orphan. And she had spent time on the outskirts of these people, not understanding how a HORSE could be so beloved. Yes, the animal was a crucial part of their society, but to weave baskets for their young? To let them sleep in their teepee? It was madness, surely!

And like Citlalli always did when confused, or frightened, she prepared to run.

She had left her own horse, a beautiful midnight stallion, behind when she left her people. A thank you to the tribe shaman, who had raised her and taught her so much. She regretted that now, as she began to take down her teepee, and pack up her meager belongings.

That is when the maiden saw it. a basket, floating on the water. She yelped as it hit a rock, instinctively knowing what was inside. That basket was for foals! The indian waded into the water, catching the basket and lifting the lid. That was a Soquili alright.

Tugging it to the bank, she pulled it out of the water. "Well well, little one." she murmured, amused. The foal opened one eye at her, yawning, and went back to sleep. "I wonder who has lost you. In this place, they must be frantic with worry."

And yet, it was not so. Every person she went to said, "No. I lost no foal." "No."

Finally, exhausted, she let herself fall to the ground, carefully cradling the basket. "You must be an orphan." she whispered softly to the foal. "Like me." The Soquili opened one eye and let out a nicker. "Or are you a spirit?" Citlalli asked. "Did you choose me? Did you come to me to keep me here?"

A whinny, and a nibble on the beaded buckskin fringe of her top was a meager response. "I have no milk for you." she informed the foal, who snorted. "And my teepee is small." Another snort, from the basket-bound Soquili. "And occasionally we will get the stink of deer dung, from the forest."

This time the Soquili made a disgusted sounding snort, and Citlalli found herself laughing. "But if you like, you may live with me. Until you are ready to journey for your own family. I will call you... Tehya. And hope you are a filly."

Another snort-whinny, and the filly stood, stepping out of her basket on shaky legs. I won't be left behind, whether you want me or not! she seemed to cry. Citlalli smiled, brushing a hand over the child's muzzle. "Let's see if we can find you some nourishment then." she said firmly, and stood. The filly leaned against her leg, regaining her balance, before prancing off a bit.

The indian maiden nodded her head, watching the Soquili. "I think we'll get along quite well, my stubborn one."

...:: In thread RP- Tehya's first ::...

-Polar-
A sliver of a crescent moon accompanied by a few shimmering white speckles adorned a dark sky. Avaru was ambling silently though a field of wild flowers; drawn by the aroma. The moonlight bathed the petals of the flowers; creating streaky lines of gleam along them. The stallion sighed contently as he meandered warily through the lengthy stems; careful not to damage any of the flowers. Avaru picked up his pace to a dull trot; his hooves pounding lightly upon the ground. The stallion was becoming restless and wished there was another creature whom he could talk to; at least to past the time. He had been wandering by himself the past few days and it had become tedious. I would canter to the river with the hopes of finding another Soquili yet I do not wish to injure my ankle again... The stallion told himself. Although Avaru was steadily recovering from his mishap on the mountain he bore a slight limp still. He sighed heavily; wishing he was not alone.
InfinitiesOfSoules
Tehya was getting tired. The woman was not energetic! She thought nothing of traipsing through flowers, and eating flowers! The lethargy the woman seemed to feel during the heat of the day was catching, and so the filly stretched, shaking herself. No! She couldn't give in.

Trotting out of the teepee, she took a sip of water at the nearby stream, and stomped her slender legs on the ground. She stretched, almost like a dog, and took off at a trot, to warm up. She trotted off, heading for the meadow. There were the tastiest flowers like there. They almost tasted like honeysuckle smelled, sweet and cloying.

As she moved closer, she could see the large silhouette of another Soquili. She nickered nervously. She'd never met another Soquili before. Would they like her? Would they be nice?
-Polar-
Avaru's ears swiveled about as a faltering nicker pierced the silence of the peaceful night. The stallion's brown eyes scanned the terrain and it took him a moment to notice another form making its way towards him. Avaru took a few steps back before shaking his head. If the creature was sinister and had malicious intentions then they would not have alarmed me of the presence. The stallion calmed himself. Squinting though the darkness he realized the creature was a foal; by the looks of it a filly. Avaru whinnied softly back to the foal and waited patiently for her to approach him.
InfinitiesOfSoules
Thya approached the larger Soquili cautiously, stiff-legged. She trotted up to him, trying to look intimidating. "Hello." she said firmly. And, like most children, she finished it up with an- "I'm Tehya." What was it about children that made them tell things like that? Then again, the filly had never been told not to talk to strangers. "What's your name? Why are you so big? Do you eat too much? Why do you smell funny?"
-Polar-
Avaru nodded to the filly as she reached him. "Hello miss." He conversed politely. "It is a pleasure to meet you Tehya; for my name is Avaru." The stallion's head began to spin as the inquisitive foal began bombarding him with questions. "I am big since I am an adult... I'm sure you will grow up soon too.... I was once your size..." He told Tehya; however a frown soon appeared on his face. "Or... at least I believe I was once the size you currently are... quite frankly I can't remember..." Avaru shook his head. Certainly I am not that old as to be forgetting my life as a foal... The stallion sighed. "I consume a proper amount of food I believe for my size and miss it is your opinion that I smell funny; perhaps the scent you smell is that of flowers. Just moments ago I was tracing through that patch of wildflowers over yonder..." He gestured with his black muzzle to the patch of wildflowers; swaying in the light breeze.
InfinitiesOfSoules
Tehya giggled, prancing a little closer to the older stallion and nosing at him. "You have a pretty tail." she decided, admiring it. "It's really long. And I'll get to be as big as YOU." her eyes were huge and round. "I'mma be a giant. Sooooo big. Can I still sleep in a teepee?" She eyed the stallion, then thought of her own human's small teepee. She really found herself rather doubting that. "And I don't know what I'm smelling." she snuffled around, curious. Soon enough however, she grew bored with her snuffling, instead comparing the size of her hooves to those of the male.
-Polar-
Avaru's brown eyes studied the filly's markings upon her as she moved towards him; and nuzzled him. The stallion grinned and nudged the foal lightly. "Thank you Tehya. You have rather unique markings; they are very beautiful." Avaru complimented her. "I can sleep in a giant so I suppose you will be able to as well. Most mares are slightly smaller than most males; however it is possible for you to be bigger than myself even." The stallion informed her. "I dwell in a large teepee; Orchu, Auri, Nora, Rami, Lux, Demon, Nana, Polar, Kasey, Cheryl and myself all live in it... and Polar mentioned something about an Ali named Moir joining us..." Avaru tilted his head in curiosity at the filly; wondering if she would smell the scent she had acquainted him with.
InfinitiesOfSoules
Tehya squeaked awkwardly as Avaru nudged her, her natural clumsiness making her trip over her own feet. "Thank you!" she said to the older soquili. The thought of being bigger than this giant in front of her startled her. Her two-legger wasn't as big as this male. "How can a teepee hold so many Soquili?" she asked finally. "Do you have a special teepee? My Citlalli has a special teepee. It is a small teepee, barely big enough for us, but it was a gift." The filly nodded seriously, blinking through the dark at the stallion.
-Polar-
Avaru's eyes widened as the filly stumbled and then regained her balance. "Are you alright?" The stallion inquired; his voice lathered with concern. "And you are very welcome..." Avaru informed her with a nod. "It depends on how grand the teepee in question is. Polar, Kasey and Cheryl constructed mine to be enormous since there are so many who dwell in it. We wouldn't all manage into a smaller teepee... No our teepee wasn't a gift. My bonded Indians built it. Kasey also painted Orca on the outside as well as an Artic Fox... so I suppose it is special..." Avaru pondered the filly's question briefly.
InfinitiesOfSoules
Tehya nodded. "It is. Because the people who love you made it." she tossed her short mane, and pranced in place. "Will you race me?" she asked, nearly bouncing. "I wanna go back to the water, and I wanna run, and I wanna see if I can beat you. You look like you weigh a lot, so your longer legs might not be as much of an advantage." the filly nodded. She wasn't saying that Avaru was fat, he was just so BIG! And so TALL! That was so strange! She ducked under his belly, wondering if he would race her. "It'll be fun!"
-Polar-
Avary smiled. "I hadn't thought of it in such a manner but I believe you to be right Tehya... Race you?" The stallion repeated. "I suppose." He stated with a frown. "We can race to the river... would you like to do that? Perhaps I weigh a healthy number but I wouldn't be surprised if some of my weight came from a muscular build." He said; although not bragging. "Fun... I'm sure it will be." Avaru wondered if all foals were this peculiar; Tehya was the first foal he had the pleasure of encountering.

{{:B Ahhhh no offense but I don't think she'd be faster than him so umm I think we should have him either beat her by a little or let her win. Which do you prefer?}}
InfinitiesOfSoules
((I don't expect her to win either. She's just a rambunctious little kid. ^_^ I'll leave that up to you. She'll probably throw herself down and roll, and then make some excuse that she stumbled if she loses. xD))

Tehya nodded. "The river!" she said cheerfully. "Ready, set...." And she shot off. Kekeke. She'd beat him! She would! The filly stretched out her little legs, not even checking behind her to see if he was following. She ran breakneck for the river, dodging small stones and holes that were just the right size for a slender hoof to get caught in.

InfinitiesOfSoules
Tehya: *starts chewing on Calamity's basket*
Quiddie!
*Calamity pauses his usual growling and snorting, surprised. He whinnies confusedly*
InfinitiesOfSoules
Tehya: *nickers* Calm down you. *resumes the chewing*
(Tehya likes baskets. They taste good They're just so cute and... innocent? >>; )
Meeki
((What can only be determined as a strange hissing sound comes from within Misery's basket.))
InfinitiesOfSoules
((Tehya: o-o? *flops over towards Misery* question question question *snuffles at them curiously* These are strange baskets...))
Quiddie!
Cal: *eye-twiitch* WHAT? Did you just tell me to calm down? WHO ARE YOU?

*completely flips out in his little wicker home*
Ronove
Khairi - *attempts to hiss back, succeeding in making a strange coughing noise* Hush, you.
InfinitiesOfSoules
Tehya: *uses her teeth to tug Calamity closer* I'm Tehya. Say it. Teh-ya. And stop flipping, you'll break something. *nuzzles the basket* So cute! *nudges at the top of the baskets, hoping for a peek inside*
Quiddie!
*Cal hears another something on the outside telling either him or his sister to be quiet. Hits berserker mode. +2 damage to the inside of his basket*

"No! Not going to say your name! And you can't make me!"

*sees a sliver of light*

"And get away from my lid! Leggo! MOM!"
InfinitiesOfSoules
Tehya: *tries hissing* Urk! gonk Teh-ya. Say it! Teh-ya! Teh-ya! *starts hooving? gently and chewing on the basket*
Quiddie!
"Won't do it! Won't do it!"

Cal feezes, trying to make sense of the commotion outside. Hearing the chewing sound again, he tries to head-butt the part of the basket he thinks is being chewed upon.
Meeki
Rhiana swoops down from the air and lands behind her baskets, stomping and thrashing at the earthy ground below in an attempt to get Tehya away from her babies.
InfinitiesOfSoules
Tehya snorts in alarm and throws herself over the baskets, stretching out her body to try and protect as much of them as she can, not realizing this very mean-looking Soquili is their mother. "Go away, you big meanie!" she yelled, frantic. "Or I'll... I'll... do something! Something so mean, and so scary!" Her eyes were almost rolling in panic, but she couldn't let this mean horse stomp on the babies!
Quiddie!
((That's the cuteset thing EVER.))

Somehow recognizing his mother's proximity, Calamity neighed excitedly.

"Get her, momma! Get her off me now!"

He hopped and thrashed a bit within his basket, unable to hide his glee at the thought of Tehya being put in her place by his mum. "Get her get her get her!"
Meeki
Rhiana bared her fangs and growled out, "Perhaps I should just kill you here and now. I'm sure my babies wouldn't mind a little snack waiting for them when they were ready to come out of their baskets. Of course, torturing you sounds rather fun as well. You can choose. Cling to my baskets and suffer a fate worse than death, cower and grovel before me with your apologies and die a painless and quick death or," Rhiana paused briefly while lowering her head closer to Tehya, "You can run and if you're quick enough, live to see another day."
InfinitiesOfSoules
Tehya tossed her mane, scowling at the Kalona. "You don't scare me." she lied, knowing her entire body was shaking. "And you were going to step on your own babies? What kind of a mother are you, huh? If all mommies stink like that, I'm glad I don't have one." She snapped her teeth at the end of the older Soquili's nose. "And what were you doing, leaving your poor babies all alone. What if they'd had someone mean come over, huh? That's very bad!" her voice was firm, and she scowled at the Kalona.
Quiddie!
Not necessarily out of a sense of duty towards Tehya, Calamity interjected.

"Are you joking? Get out of here! Nobody was bothering us until you got here! Everyone else knows better...and you'd better get out of here as fast as possible. Momma isn't joking, and I don't want your guts to get all over me in here!"
Meeki
"You have got to be one of the most stupid creatures I have ever seen. I can promise you, my babies are just as mean as I am.. if not.. more so. I'd kill you right now for your insults but I think I'll let you live so that Misery and Calamity can tear you apart themselves once they are ready to leave their baskets. I am sure they are already daydreaming about the many ways they can cause you pain. Also, I am never too far from my babies but their independence is important to our race. If they need me.. I will come but until they call, they have EVERY right to deal with their situations on their own. Do not underestimate a Kalona, even in a basket!"

Rhiana lowered her horn and proceeded to pry Tehya off her baskets. Since Calamity was the one harassed by Tehya, he earned the right to cause this creature pain. It will give him something to look forward to when he was ready to face the world.
InfinitiesOfSoules
Tehya snorted. She hadn't been clinging to the basket, she'd been standing over them, so it was relatively easy for her to be lifted off them by the much older creature. "I only wanted to play with them! I want to play with them!" she whinnied, kicking and wailing. She scowled at the Kalona. "And you shouldn't underestimate me either." she told Rhiana, eyes blazing. "You'll see!
Quiddie!
Finally feeling accustomed to the soft ground beneath his hooves, Calamity walked slowly back to the group, where his basket once sat. Seething, he looked around amoung the assembled humans and soquili and snorted. "Where is the one called Tehya? I'm done having my mother do my dirty work for me."

His front hoof dug menacingly into the moist soil beneath him as he struggled with the unrelenting torrent of anger and violence battering his judgement. Something so young was never meant to feel this much rage already.
InfinitiesOfSoules
Tehya snorted, looking up as the foal emerged from his basket. "Oh! You're all big now!" she said, eyes bright. "Will you play with me?" her eyes were hopeful, but somehow she guessed that he wouldn't want to play with her. Which kind of made her sad. Tehya was lonely, and Citlalli was always out doing something. If even her human wouldn't play with her, she wondered... who would want to?

But this was a Kalona, and judging by what his mommy had said, Kalona didn't like to play games. How sad was a Kalona's life, if they didn't like to play games?
Quiddie!
He recognized the voice immediately. So this was Tehya...

He didn't know what he had been expecting, but she wasn't much bigger than he was. He tilted his head and assessed their differences. Her tail was hair, and she was significantly less pointy than he...and wingless!

His anger momentarily abated, he stepped closer, his eyes still narrowed dangerously. "Why do you look different than me?"
InfinitiesOfSoules
Tehya stepped closer to him as well. "Well, I guess that's because I'm not special, like you." she said simply. She admired his tail- it looked so unique! Stepping closer, she hesitantly nosed at him, sniffling around him. He looked different, but he smelled like a Soquili. "Your mommy said you're Kalona." she tossed her head, moving carefully. "Why do you look like you're angry? Did I really make you hate me that much? I just wanted to talk to somebody." she whispered. She eyed the other filly, but her attention came back to the colt.
Quiddie!
Cal eyed Tehya incredulously as she sniffed him. He stood up a little straighter and curled his lip into a little sneer as he spoke. "You're right...I am special. And you are not."

He whipped his tail around him and stepped away from the female lifting his chin proudly. "I am a kalona, like my parents and sister. We are powerful and unique, and do not take kindly to the likes of you."

"And," he added, his carefully cocky demeanor faltering with his age, "I am not angry...well...I am! I hate you because you wouldn't leave me alone..."

He couldn't help the tiny prickle at the back of his mind. Succumbing momentarily to it, he lowered his head and frustratedly kincked the dirt. "I don't hate you...not really. But I don't like you at all. So leave me alone!"

He reared up on his hind legs and spread out his wings as malevolently as he could manage.
InfinitiesOfSoules
Tehya knew it had been coming, but she couldn't stop the flash of hurt. But she tilted her head and looked at Calamity gently. "Of course. But it isn't power to be mean to everyone. It just makes people not like you." she said frankly. "I'm sorry I kept trying to play with you. I won't do it again." she murmured, and turned, starting to plod away dejectedly. Oh well, at least she'd gotten to talk to another Soquili... it was nice. And the Kalona momma had been really pretty. Maybe she'd be lucky and grow up to be so big and strong.
Quiddie!
(( crying But I love you, Tehya! *bawls*))

"Good. Because you shouldn't." Cal clenched his jaw and nodded at her retreating form. He was sure his mother would be proud of him.

He snorted victoriously at the ground, as if celebrating his triumph over the small part of him that thought she was nice and rather pretty. Not as pretty as himself, mind you, but in a different way.

But he was better than that, and he was better than her. That's what his mother said and she was right. He folded his wings back to rest and looked around. With her gone, he had nothing to do...and he was still angry but had no one to vent it on.

Neighing loudly, he decided to take his frustrations out on a lone yellow flower blooming hopefully in a patch of grass. He trampled it vindictively, smiling for the first time since he'd emerged from his basket.

...:: Meeting Mr. Bluebell (In-Thread) ::...

InfinitiesOfSoules
Tehya trotted along the edge of the water watching her reflection. Her thoughts were on the interesting meeting with the Kalona yesterday. He'd made her feel horribly ugly. He and his mother had been beautiful. But very scary.

And when she was scared or depressed, she'd discovered she had a fondness for the sweet white flowers. leaving the water and her dark wingless reflection behind, she headed off for the flower field.
Ronove
Khairi walked through a field of white flowers and sighed. It had been a week at least since he'd seen Death. Had she forgotten him? He hoped not, desperatly so; he certianly hadn't forgotten her. The white flowers reminded him of her, and so he came to this field, and his spot in the woods often.

Looking up, he spotted a young foal trotting towards the fields. For a moment he was tempted to leave, desiring only to be alone with his thoughts. But there was something about the foal that grabbed his attention... some kindred feeling about her that he felt he might be able to heal. With a snort at his foolishness, he approached.

"And how are you today, lass?"

Tehya started, almost falling off her hooves. "Oh." She blinked up at the stallion, giving a hesitant horsey-smile. "Hello." she greeted politely, tail swishing. It was another big Soquili, like the first one she'd met. And this one was a beautiful blue, like the flowers! "I'm doing quite well, thank you. And how are you? I'm Tehya. You're beautiful."
Ronove
Khairi smiled in return. "Thank you, Tehya." He looked her over. "You're quite striking youself, lass." The young stallion winked and his smile broadened. "Dashing markings. You'll be sure to attract the attention of all the young males aroung here."

Khairi met the filly's gaze and raised an eyeborw. "You're young yet though, lass. Where are your parents?"
InfinitiesOfSoules
Tehya tilted her head, dancing in place. The compliment had made her feel good in her chest, and she was suddenly embarassed. She ducked her head, tossing her mane in what was her nervous and embarassed gesture. "I don't have any parents." she said. "I live with my human, Citlalli, in a teepee. She found me floating in the water." she informed the stallion seriously. "May I call you Bluebell?" she finally burst out. "It's such a romantic name, and you are so PRETTY!"
Ronove
Khairi was startled. "Floating in the water?" But since the filly didn't dwell on the topic, he didn't either. He'd found Ohanzee, but he didn't really remember his parents either... "Bluebell, hmm?" The stallion smiled. "I suppose, but only between you and me. My real name is Khairi, in case you were wondering."
InfinitiesOfSoules
"Yep!" she said, and took a mouthful of the white flowers. Mmm, so sweet! "Citlalli thought I'd gotten lost, but it just seems.. no one wanted me." she wagged her head. "But I'm happy."

The way her hoof seemed to gring the flowers under it dictated otherwise.

"Khai-ri?" she sounded out the name, looking thoughtful. "It's much shorter than Bluebell. And it's pretty." she admitted. "But I'll stick with Bluebell." She bent for another mouthful of flowers.
Ronove
The crushed flower did not escape Khairi's notice, but he pretended not to see. For a moment he was silent as he gathered his thoughts. "I'm sure it wasn't like that, Tehya." The stallion's voice was soft and sympathetic. "Someone loves you, and now they miss you desperatly."

He hesitated, then nuzzled her gently. "And you have your two-legger; you're important to her too." Khairi smiled softly. Something about this filly made him feel protective. Perhaps it had something to do with meeting that... ill-mannered colt earlier. "Until you have a family of your own, Tehya, you're welcome to talk to me."
InfinitiesofSoules
Tehya's eyes prickled. "Then why didn't they try and find me?" she whispered finally, leaning against the stallions legs, voice soft. "It's nice, living with Citlalli, don't get me wrong, but it isn't... the same as a family of my own."

She relaxed when he nuzzled her, leaning her body closer towards his in response. "And thank you, Mr. Bluebell." she said, and smiled faintly.
Ronove
"You don't know that they haven't, Tehya." Khairi tried to make his voice comforting. He wasn't used to being around foals, especially not heartsick ones. "Maybe you're just too far away. When you're older and stronger, you'll be able to search for them. Maybe one day you'll find them."

The blue stallion smiled. "Don't worry, lass." The filly seemed so forlorn, he couldn't help but speak to her. Not all foals were annoying, it seemed. "Now, it's a beautiful day; are you planning on doing anything fun?"
InfinitiesOfSoules
Tehya smiled. Leaning up, she nuzzled the bigger Soquili. "Thank you Mister Bluebell." she murmured again. "I'm sure, one day I will.' she nodded, and trotted off a few steps. "My two-legger and I live in a teepee, by the river, right before it hits the woods. You are welcome to come visit us any time, okay?
And with that, she trotted off happily.

Lazy Afternoon In the Meadow

It wasn't every day Tehya got to go out with her human. The warrior female was simply too busy to stop and eat some flowers with the lonely Tehya. So Tehya was relishing the fact Citlalli was running alongside her, laughing as they flew through the meadow.

The filly outran her easily, as always. An advantage to having four legs she supposed. Weren't two-leggers horribly off balance in their funny bodies? She pulled to a halt and waited for the half-Lakota woman to catch up to her. The redhead was laughing, eyes twinkling like emeralds in her darkly tanned face. "Sister." Citlalli gasped, reaching up to wrap her arms around Tehya's neck. "You ran me into the ground today."

Tehya looked down at the woman, thinking. Since when had Citlalli been so tiny? Had it not been just yesterday that she was so small Citlalli had to bend down to hug her? She lowered her head, letting out a mournful nicker. Had it not been just yesterday that sister oak, outside their teepee, held even her lowest branches high over her filly's head?

And yet today... today everyone else was smaller. Sister Oak, Grandmother Maple... Citlalli.

InfinitiesOfSoules
Tehya was admiring herself in the water. Look at that! She was big! She moved one large front leg, and watched her reflection do the same.

That was awesome.

Maybe she could even beat Mr. Bluebell in a race! And she'd be able to SQUASH that twerpy little Kalona brat. Stupid Rosebud.
Yayoi
Chu'mana hummed lightly as she strolled down a path that she had traveled a few times before. Now that she was with Atsila for good, she was in a fairly more chipper mood. Though thoughts of recent past events kind of bothered her. But she tried to keep a good outlook on life non the less.

Mingen had stayed back at the teepee, good thing cause she needed her own space for the moment. Just needing to get out and about. Take a breath of fresh air.

As she continued down the path, she closed her eyes and listened to some running water nearby. Maybe she'd stop soon and take a small sip of it.
InfinitiesOfSoules
Tehya heard the sound of hoofbeats over the water, and one ear perked up attentively. Ohh, someone new? She lowered her head to take a deep drink, happy. She liked new people. They always had the mosy interesting views. And sometimes, they even made good friends, like her chance meeting with Mister Bluebell!
Yayoi
Chu'mana hummed a little more untill she came around a little bend. There before her stood another Soquili, another mare it seemed. This one did look kind of interesting, and she hadn't really expected to run into anyone right away. But she decided to make the best of the encounter.

She continued walking untill she got closer to the other mare. Flicking her tail a few times, she tilted her head and let out a soft nicker. "Hello there."
InfinitiesOfSoules
Tehya lifted her head, muzzle glistening with diamond droplets. "Hello." she greeted happily. She eyed the other mare curiously. Her skin was like a night sky, black, and with a green, brighter than leaves painted on! Was this female a brave's warhorse, to go so attired?

She tossed her head, sending a few droplets raining about. "I am Tehya." she said with a horsey smile.
Yayoi
Chu'mana smiled softly as she watched the other mare closely. This mare was of interesting colors. She'd never seen a color combination like that. But then again she had seen other different colors on other Soquili before that didn't look natural so she payed no mind to it.

She gave her curly tail a few more flicks side to side before takeing a few more steps towards the other mare. "Pleasure to meet you Tehya. My name is Chu'mana."
InfinitiesOfSoules
Tehya nodded in greeting. "The water here is good." she said, and nodded towards the river. "No teepees are upstream of this area, so the water is clean, not tasting of smoke, and skins, and unwashed bodies." She dipped her muzzle back in to the cool, clear liquid. Her own tail flicked, braids hitting her flanks heavily and knocking a fly to the ground, stunned.
Yayoi
Chu'mana smiled lightly and looked down at the water. Lowering her head a bit, she sipped at the cool water for a few seconds then lifted her head again. "It is pretty good. And not full of the stuff the two leggers throw into the water sometimes. It's hard to find places of water like this what with all the new two leggers popping up here and there randomly."
InfinitiesOfSoules
The brown mare nodded in firm agreement. "Yes, so many new two-leggers come, and they bring such strange creatures with them. They carry tree linbs that shoot fire and thunder, and can strike down bears. And their Soquili wear metal and leather in their mouths, and some have strange lumps on their backs. It makes me afraid." the mare murmured.
Yayoi
She blinked slightly and raised an eyebrow at Tehya, giveing her a curious look. "What kind of two leggers are you talking about? I haven't heard about these kind yet. I must be really out of the loop then . And Soquili who wear metal and leather in their mouths? I don't think I'd be able to stand that really."
InfinitiesOfSoules
Tehya looked startled. "I heard they come from the waters." she muttered. "I don't know what kind of two-leggers they are, though I have heard they are kin to the kalonas, those two-leggers. Cutting down trees, and killing more than they need to eat. And that they are pale as clouds, and some have hair the color of corn.
Yayoi
Chu'mana gave her another confused yet interested look. "Interesting. I might have to just see these kinds of two leggers in real life. Though I'm not sure if I would want to get too close to them. They sound rather vicious." Her tail gave a few flicks before she furrowed her eyebrows. "Do you think they could come and hurt the other two leggers that we're so used to seeing?"
InfinitiesOfSoules
The thought was horrifying. The thought of seeing those limbs shooting their fire at the Kawani people made Tehya stamp her front feet against the ground in rage. "I won't let them!" she cried. "They have no right! Killing our trees, killing our food, hurting our brothers and sisters, and our two-leggers! No!" she protested. Her tail flicked, even more agitated, and the flies hovering around the water began to drop like, well... flies. "I won't let them hurt our two-leggers."

But what could she do? Their limbs shot thunder, and Tehya was no bear to keep charging even when hit by it.
Yayoi
Chu'mana furrowed her eyebrows more as she watched Tehya stomp her front feet. Snorting a quick breath through her nostrils, she nodded her head quickly. "I'm in agressance with you on that. I won't let them hurt anyone either. They have no right to come and do this. No right at all."

Her ears layed flack against her skull for a moment as she pondered this. There wasn't all that much she could do, but then again...perhaps there was. "Maybe we could somehow find a way to get rid of them. I will have to tell Firefly about all this when I return to the teepee. If she's there. I'm sure she wouldn't be too happy about this new developement either."
InfinitiesOfSoules
Tehya forced herself to relax, whuffling softly. "If we could only talk to their Soquili... if they would rebel. Their progress would be slowed." the mare thought aloud. "And get our cousins to throw their big sticks in the water. Then they would have to be peaceful, and meet our two-leggers without their thunder-limbs."

There came a loud whistle, and Tehya's head jerked up. Ah! Her Citlalli was back from her traveling! Citlalli went to the beach so often to watch the two-leggers.

She nodded to the other mare. "It was a great pleasure to meet you, Chu'mana, my sister. The teepee of my human, Citlalli, is down the river a ways, near the forest. Please, feel free to come and say hello." she invited. "But I am afraid I have to go."
Yayoi
Chu'mana nodded her head slightly to what Tehya was saying. "Yes, that sounds like a good plan really. We'll have to talk about it more." As she heard the whistle come from nearby, she bowed her head slightly to Tehya. "I'll keep in mind to come by your teepee so we can furthur discuss this issue. Untill we meet again then Tehya." With a few flicks of her tail, she turned about and started to trot off in the direction of her own two legger. Her mind still lingering on the thought of these new two leggers.
