You can't change someone to be the better person.
If you want to help them, then stand there and watch.
You've been so close for so long, and when they relize that life's not working out as it was before,
They'll come back.
And you can't do anything to help them relize it,
Believe me, I know exactly what you're going through.

But even when you read this, the words I wrote wont mean a thing,
For the same reasons are here as with your situation.

So, you would be helping your friend by not helping your friend. As crazy as that sounds, it makes perfect sense. You really don't want to actively persuade your friend to change, otherwise she will just keep refusing to do that. She will probably tell you that you are trying to control her life and get really angry with you. Then she would hate every minute of being with you, so the best thing to do is to let her realize it on her own.
