The Disciple shrugged. “Start one or don’t start one it’s your choice.” He regarded her with half lidded eyes. A dark mystery swirled in them as he chewed the end of his cigar lightly in thought. He tilted his head, mumbling to himself which was barely audible.
He snapped his fingers all of a suddenly. “You will seek out Lillian. She will guide and teach you the basics about your new life.” Sipping at his drink he watched the rabbit over the rim of his glass before settling it back on to the table. “I trust this kitten to teach you well. She is another of my childe and will be your first step into clan life. Well, besides the whole embracing stuff.” Ravnos waved his hand dismissively at the thought.
“No ties is good. They can be a bit…restrictive.” At least mortal ones were. The Romani he sometimes traveled with were just a means to an end. That life was of course a facade in which he gained a cover for his movement. Plus a free meal when he needed it. But if she had had a mate or children she would have never been able to see them again.
But looking at her. She has neitherZ and he could see why Zapathasura had choosen her. She was rather easy on the eyes. “Your first and last family I assure you….” He was going to call her kitten but that didn’t really fit. “…little .rabbit.”

So, it didn't matter. Whether Ashke knew or didn't know how to incite a war without the blame coming to her clan's door was immaterial. She'd find out if it came down to it. Right now, she didn't care one way or another. There was a lot to learn, and it sounded like this Ravnos was not going to teach it to her. It made sense. He was important, she was not. In another life that might've bothered her. Right now, it didn't. Maybe it was because of that whole sire thing. "Lillian." She turned the name over on her tongue, and then sipped her drink again. "I'll find her." Ashke had always been resourceful, and although it hadn't saved her life, it hadn't exactly ended it either.
"Fine. What do I call you, then? Sire?" Or by his name... by his title? There were so many things she didn't know yet. Not that this rabbit had ever been particularly good about … etiquette. Seemed like she was going to have to learn. Not something she looked forward to, but f*ck it. Who cared at this point? In for a penny, in for a pound. "Family's gonna be something new." It'd take some getting used to, having something like a family, even if it was in a twisted way like this. She looked a little longingly at the cigar and wondered if she'd be able to smoke like he did. Maybe it was a power thing? Or maybe it wasn't dangerous as it seemed like it would be.

Ravnos made an odd sound. It could have been interpreted as one of disagreement. “No. That is way too formal and I hate formalities. You will just call me Ravnos.” She wasn’t allowed to know his true name. That honor was reserved for only one person on his life. And ok the Romani knew But they didn’t know him as Ravnos either.
Ahhh Lillian. How he missed his red haired kitten. He hadn’t seen her in a very long time and honestly he hoped that she was still alive otherwise heMd be sending this new kitten on a wild goose chase. No, she was his. She would still be out there. “Good. Tell her I say hello and that she must teach you..” He waved his hand in a circle. “What it means to be Ravnos. I have faith that she will do well in this task.”
He quirked a brow at her statement about family being new. He grinned wide and laughed. “We’ll then kitten buckle up because you just gained one over night.”

From that, Ashke could presume there would be no... paternal connection between herself and this vampire. Fine. She honestly didn't care one way or another. "Ravnos, then." Another swig, and she'd finished the cup. If he had another name, she neither knew nor bothered to know what it might be. She didn't have an inkling that there could be another. "Noted." So, newly made vampire, new challenges. At least this one probably didn't end in her death. Although she had no idea what Lillian would be like, or what her reception might be in the end.
It didn't matter. "I have a feeling this family is going to be a lot." More than likely also quite large, based on what she'd gleaned from Ravnos's phrases... and from what he didn't say. Reading between the lines had been not as much a habit as a necessity before. Seemed like that wouldn't be changing anytime soon. "Oh goodie," she said, and leaned back. She'd better find this Lillian before she ran into any other vampires. What she didn't know could, literally, kill her... and what she didn't know probably filled several whole libraries.

Again he laughed. “You have no idea kitten. But I have confidence you will do just fine.” Noticing her eyeing his cigar Ravnos flicked his wrist and produced a brand now one. Settling it down into the middle of the table for her to take if she wished.
“Now, if there are no more questions for me I am afraid so must leave. I have more pressing matters to attend to and I do not want to keep them waiting.” Finishing his drink the Disciple stood. If she had no more he would leave. His business of making sure she had made it and that she was set up to succeed had been concluded.

It didn't take long for Ashke to snatch the cigar covetously. Usually, she smoked cigarettes, but this seemed all the more tempting at the moment. Lighting the end as she'd seen others do, Ashke took a long drag of the cigar, letting the scent of gloves and tobacco wash over her. It was both soothing and exhilarating at once. "I know I'll do fine. It remains to be seen if I'll do spectacularly." With a final glance at Ravnos, she got to her feet. "I'm not gonna waste your time with questions I could ask Lillian. So ciao, and thanks for making me not exactly dead."
Happy enough to have the cigar, Ashke quit the joint, stalking out into the night to find out exactly where this Lillian might be. It was definitely time to find out what being a Ravnos meant. Family, belonging? Those were new to her... just as being a vampire was new to her. But somehow all of this felt more natural than her life before. Maybe she'd been meant to be a Ravnos from the very beginning.
