I'm rather more of a fisher than a hunter, Tierboskath quipped, landing beside the feeding pens with a showy sweep of his wings and a jaunty bounce, But I will try my claw regardless. Oh, he knew it was impossible, but where was the fun in staying on the ground? And besides that, he adored his golden sister - how could he just leave her to such an assembly of brutes? So many clearly didn't know her at all, and were quick and ready to lay claim to what would never be theirs, or to pledge to win her hearts.

How adorably foolish.

Rather than pacing, the long-legged blue fairly pranced as he waited, all mirth and confidence. He might lack the size and impressive scars of some, but he knew full well that he was the handsomest dragon here, and he was utterly shameless in that knowledge. His eyes whirled with eager, delighted purples and blues, his carefree posture standing in stark contrast to the otherwise intense atmosphere. What a fierce rabble you've summoned. I might be worried for my pretty hide, if they did not all look so much slower than I.

Rio, abruptly abandoned where he'd been lazing with His since sunset, shook the sand from his hair and set off down the beach barefoot and shirtless. Looking 'presentable' really didn't concern him, particularly at a time like this.

Aleyath's eyes didn't spin with crimson like some of the other dragons angling closer to Kleoth. His were violet, of course, but swirls of bright turquoise broke the surface instead, the brown forever amused. Once wary of a bitey, fighty chase, he had now trailed enough angry queens and fought enough Thread to lose his fear of a few nips and scratches. Whatever happened tonight, there was no doubt in his mind that it would be fun.

Don't provoke anyone who doesn't deserve it. O'len's wry sendoff spoke volumes as to how far they'd come, and the big man sighed as he prepared for the headache that would be born of his abstinence.

Swooping low, Aleyath announced himself with a chittering call that sounded a little like laughter, appreciation of the gold clear in his thoughts. He seemed poised to attempt some grand opener as the others had when one word of Tierboskath's greeting caught his attention, a single syllable in a sea of domineering banter.

Slow! Ha! Don't worry, Kleoth, there's one dragon out here who knows it takes more than muscle to sire spectacular hatchlings.

A flicker of satisfaction pulsed through her as dragons responded to her call, and she watched them sidelong as she continued her blooding. Brown Adarith was the first to arrive, and though her sire had given her reservations, she could admire a dragon who so proudly wore the wounds of his recent battles. Actions speak louder than words. She growled, but she was not displeased with him. It was easy to boast of strength, but there would be no hiding behind pretty words once they were up in the air. I will be watching. She would only choose the best of them all.

Her head jerked at the sign of movement so close to her, mantling her wings possessively over her kill while she hissed in warning. Part of her wanted to lash out at Navarath for his boldness, but, convinced that he would remain where he was for now, Kleoth resisted the urge. Daring. She noted. But will you flinch when the time comes? Her jaws snapped, her agitation beginning to mount once more.

Carelessly dispatching another animal, Kleoth drank deeply. She did not release the throat of the wherry as she spoke to another bronze. True and true, wise Zibeth. Sheer strength is not the only quality I desire. Be careful that you do not muddle your own path with clever schemes and strategies. Cunning was good, but not if one failed to strike when the moment was right.

The simplicity of Pipith’s words pleased her, but she spared him only a glance for now. Then we shall hunt! Her gaze fixed upon the skies, purple hues sweeping through the deep reds, but she had not yet finished her meal.

Red flared brightly through her faceted eyes once more, and her words were as hot as her temper as she lashed out at Belengath. Did I claim to be prey? I hunt for a mate tonight, as do you. Do better than honor me; impress me. He may invite her as he pleased, but Kleoth would hardly be swayed by formality and politeness.

The time for words was past, and her frustration was apparent. Illiandinth received a brush of acknowledgement and a tinge of approval for his brevity. As Uskatath said nothing, Kleoth did not acknowledge him in turn--but oh, she was aware of him skulking in the dark, waiting. Nasath’s words were impatiently brushed aside, for as far as she was concerned, her hearts had no place in this matter. It was Belsheveth’s quiet intensity that intrigued her, but before she could linger on it, Auriath had her bristling. The walls of her hearts? This was a matter of the future of Pern, not some silly attempt at love! Though Baloroth and Wolveth drew near, Kleoth had decided she was done with waiting.

She leapt from the ground with a snarl, lashing out at Navarath with a foreclaw as she went. It was time to see who could keep pace! Of course, her temper softened at once when Tierboskath spoke, her love washing over him. If they even think to touch you, I will take them down myself. That Aleyath acknowledged her brother’s words spoke well of him, but her focus had shifted back into frantically propelling herself up into the skies. Though landing a blow on a suitor might have been satisfying, it left her struggling to make headway.

Hardly, Navarath did stay at a, relatively, polite distance from the blooding gold - he got no thrill from the idea of peeling her into his claws before she'd even taken to the skies, after all - but her inquiry was answered with firm confidence.

Confidence, it seemed, he'd have to live up to once she lashed out at him, clearly riled by another of her suitors. The lash of her claws, which found their mark firmly, sent a thrill rushing through him as he uncoiled himself from his own feast. A hiss escaped him, a noise that would have been described as crocodilian if such a creature existed on Pern, as he unfurled his great wings and sprung gracelessly from the ground to pursue.

Just as T'kita made his way down the beach. Certainly, there were plenty of lovelies about to eye but he'd chosen a prize he wanted for at least the night. Certainly, he'd not be the only fine specimen to grace Phryana's presence but he was going to make sure he at least put on a good showing.

"Phryana," he greeted, his voice rough but playful, "tell me - are you looking for any fine company of your own during such an auspicious flight?"

----

Bronze Navarath
Navarath hatched ferocious and battle hungry - and while he is not blind with his desire for physical competition, he can be incredibly coarse which can hide his noble nature.

T'kita is a former pit fighter who has had to prove his mettle via combat and has the lean muscle to show for it. He sees everything as a bit of a competition and will look down on those he sees as cowardly or whiny.

Cons: Bossy, lazy when A'iel's not looking, impolite.

Nasath was unfazed by Kleoth's disregard—in his mind he was the best of the best, and there was very, very little anyone but A'iel could do to dent or taint that glittering mental image. Never mind that he'd yet to ever catch a gold, despite his ten turns of chasing; there was only this chase, this chance, and surely by the end Kleoth would see his mettle matched up and fall into his claws. Lead on, mighty huntress! Your sky awaits!

He was up and away a beat after the gold, and he huffed a puff of amusement and frustration as she lashed out at another male. It was a good sign for him, he decided, that she was plain in her displeasure (and that it was not aimed at him!), but he'd overshot in his eagerness, expecting her to rocket upwards and not accounting for the lost momentum of her attack. He banked as best he could, far too large to turn on a wingtip like a green or blue, his whirling purple eyes fixed on her glittering hide, neck arching and head turning to follow her even as his bulky form fought to correct course. There were many who had come to chase her, even if they shouldn't have bothered in his opinion, and it was harder to spot her through the tangle of bronze and brown. Still, he had full confidence in himself. She was the best gold in all of Pern to him, tonight, and he was the best bronze. It only made sense!

PC N'sarl of bronze Uskatath

Uskatath watched as Kleoth threw herself to the sky and was quick to leap after. Though she lashed out at one of the bronzes, the dragon was little concerned. His hide was already scarred from battle, and past scuffles with others; he wasn't the sort to back away from a fight, and he wasn't about to turn away from Kleoth. If he had to throw down his competition, so be it.

A foolish thing, really, to waste ones energy on petty ichorshed. Surely, if the queen wished for the skies to rain with green, than Uskatath would deliver. But he was here for one thing and one thing alone; and to conserve his strength, so he might be best prepared to capture the golden prize, he would not do so unless commanded--or if some fool second-rate competitor came too close. Is this the best that the Weyr might offer? His disgust in the competition was clear. Such a crime, though my superiority surely is all the more clear. To think browns would dare take wing to chase... and was that a blue? Please. Where were the scores of bronzes here to take their mate? Why was only a pittance offered the golden Kleoth? Well. This would not do. Would you prefer I tear a few from the sky as an offering for you, Fierce One? Give the word and it will be done.

If it was blood she wanted, he would provide.

Would she put them through their paces by flying high and forcing them to keep up? Or did she want games and entertainment? Did she even know what to test? Probably not--she was very young, after all. She would learn though... she would learn. And until then, Uskatath would prove himself however she wished to test him.

N'sarl struggled against the flight lust of Uskatath. He all but bared his fangs at those who passed too near, fingers twitching even as he tried to make sense of his surroundings. He didn't know whether or not Phryana was available this night, but he found himself stumbling through the weyrbowl, trying to keep an eye out for the rider.

By the time he found her, she was not entirely alone. Another was there--but that wasn't his concern. His interest was, at present, her. The dark haired, dark skinned beauty who was as much Kleoth as he was Uskatath. Though his own teeth bared at the sight of T'kita, it was not personal; it was entirely his link with his bronze, and all the feelings pouring through him. Still, he was not here to be a beast...

"Phryana." He greeted, though it was low and rough with emotion. He saw her, but he also saw Kleoth; he was both on the ground and in the air. As a bronze rider, he felt it would be wrong not to give the gold rider her due. This was her night, after all--and it would always be her choice.

Uskatath: He is a bronze who fits the High Reaches ideal far more than that of Western. Though he loathes his current home, he remains out of a sense of duty--and because his rider refuses to leave. He's judgmental, pompous, arrogant, and not entirely a friendly sort of bronze. He's all edges, and not afraid of a good fight. Uskatath is a formidable Threadfighter and reliable (if unpleasant) wingmate.

N'sarl: He was once trouble, and even after Impression, hasn't gotten much better. Returning to High Reaches Weyr is a temptation but something--or someone--keeps him there. He's aloof, rough-around-the-edges, and generally hard to get to know. He's slightly-less-pompous than his bronze, and can (quietly) do good things when the mood strikes.

You may be fast for a brown, Aleyath, but no one here can hold a candle to a blue and you know it. Tierboskath was most certainly feeling himself tonight, but vain though he might be, he was also good-humored, and so were his words for his wingmate.

Tierboskath basked in his sister's attention, and the familiar love that washed over him; she was among the clutchmates he held fondest in his hearts, and his gaze was awash with purple for her. At another time, he'd have pranced over to nuzzle against her, but this was neither the time nor the place, so he could only send her the mental impression of such a gesture. It was quickly joined by merriment at her promise, which he knew full well she meant every word of, and he absolutely soaked it up. For me? The thought of such a sight is quite a temptation, I must admit...

I will be sure to let you know if one of them touches me in a way I do not wish. His eyes sparkled with mischief, and when the time came, he gathered his long legs beneath him and sprang into the air - though he was in no great hurry, and deliberately tailed behind his sister. It would be awfully rude to get ahead of the lady of the hour, after all, would it not?

Though Rio moved at a respectable pace down the beach, he wasn't visibly rushed; he was an easygoing man, and he knew that whatever happened, an enjoyable night lay ahead of him. He arrived outside of Phryana's hut shortly after T'kita and N'sarl, and cast an appraising glance over the bronzeriders - interested and appreciative, rather than critical or an attempt to intimidate. He didn't have a competitive or territorial bone in his body, and was so unfussed in fact that he settled himself down onto the sand to wait, offering Phryana a casual wave and a cheerful smile to go with his bright "Good evening!"

He'd spent no small amount of time with the goldrider, more than some of it bantering and flirting, and was comfortable as could be just biding his time. He was far from immune to the effects of the Flight, but he concealed it well under his usual easy charm.

NPC Bronze Baloroth
________________________

The wait hadn't been a long one. Not long after Baloroth had totally stilled into his deeply readied stance, Kleoth had taken to the skies. He sprung into the air after her, deep wingbeats quickly bearing him aloft after pushing hard off the ground. It appeared she had landed a blow against one of her suitors, one of the bronzes, he noted. Baloroth was mentally and physically ready for an intense Flight. He wasn't taking to the wing with the intent to brawling his way through the pack, intending on keeping on the defensive or just space maintaining measures against his fellow pursuers. It seemed an unnecessary waste of energy and attention, especially so early into what should a long affair. Ichor may be boiling, but the only one he'd accept injury from was the glorious Kleoth herself. He had no intention of taking aggressive action against her blue clutch brother. That would be act of folly. Focus on the now, what this all meant for the future of Western. He didn't plan on getting distracted from the importance of this flight. Let her test him! He'd gladly accept whatever she demanded of him.

R'en was taking slow, deep breaths as we walked to try to keep his mind from swimming with the lust from the rising queen and his own bondmate. It was easy enough to find Phyrana and the other gathering riders seeking her attention within the weyrbowl. His link to Baloroth was saying chase, catch, but he wasn't about to pushily make his way through the especially close potential post-flight paramours. Things were just getting starting. He offered a small smile, placed a hand a hand on his chest, dipped his head to the gold rider in greeting, since he felt it was appropriate at the very least. "Evening, Phryana..." She was a beautiful lady. In the deepening gloaming, he was glad for the lengthening shadows because he felt like his ears were growing warm in a flush.

Baloroth-
Positive: Quick learner, dependable, protective, earnest
Negative: Standoffish, self-sacrificing, unyielding, demanding

Baloroth has the look of a fighter, large, well muscled, and bearing the scars of seeing action. The right side of his face and some onto his neck bear burns from a wayward blast of flame, missing the eye on that side. His body, tail, and wings are peppered with threadscore scars. He'll, of course, flame the thread if he can, but he's also the sort to take the hits for others if he needs to. Behind his typical aloofness, stubborn stick-to-itiveness, and unvoiced expectations that he often expects others to adhere to, Baloroth isn't one to shy away from work or duty and has a sincerity that can surprise some if they've more readily experienced his brusqueness.

R'en, 29, ex-baker/cook, is pansexual and open to letting the flight lust simply take him where it may.

In his younger days, Pipith would already have been bristling at the congregation of other suitors, itching to tear them down before the Flight even began, but he was no longer that desperate adolescent, and had long since learned the value of patience and strategy. Oh, he still deeply enjoyed digging his claws and teeth into his competitors if they came within striking range, but he kept the end goal firmly fixed in his mind; it would not do to become so preoccuppied with battle that he threw away his chance to catch the fearsome Queen before him.

His eyes blazed at her proclamation, and he roared in answer, claws rending furrows beneath him. He was ready! And when Kleoth took to the air, he followed close behind, all the while keeping a wary eye on the other males to track their proximity, ready and willing to snap and claw if the infringed on what he considered his airspace.

NPC Bronze Zibeth

Zibeth chuckled at Kleoth’s response. Of course, my dear. I shall endeavor to not be that clever...or is it stupid...as to not be there for you the moment you desire. As Kleoth launched so did Zibeth. Strong legs pushed him into the sky and he set off to follow the young Queen. Powerful strokes of his wings allowed him to catch up quickly.

The attempts at fighting amused the bronze dragon. Is this what you desire, Kleoth? He eyed the competition and considered who would be most deserving of the attack. Certainly not the blue who clearly was a beloved of the gold. Even if he had been hated by Kleoth, a blue was not one who needed to be put in their place through violence. Would you like us to administer your justice for you or will you keep that pleasure to yourself? Let me know who angers you and I will strike as you wish. This could be fun.

Kleoth's growled reply sent a shiver of excitement through Adarith's body, his tail twitching back and forth like a feline in anticipation of the leap into the sky the gold would soon make. That he had arrived first didn't matter to him, though he was thankful that she'd been in a good enough mood to speak to him. As more suitors appeared her patience waned and he knew it would only be a matter of time before she took to the skies.

Sizing up the competition around him, Adarith laid his swirling purple and red eyes on Uskatath, a bronze who looked eager to slash and bleed as much as Adarith did. He was close enough that when Kleoth finally rose, Adarith swiped at the other male, though his timing was off and he caught nothing but air as Uskatath leapt up to follow the queen. Snorting his frustration with his miss, Adarith joined the others in the air. Kleoth wasn't hard to spot amongth the shining bronzes, her color more rich and bright in the setting sun than any of them.

Watch well, Kleoth. My actions will speak for me now. He could appreciate letting his determination win him this fight.

T'sar undid the tail he kept his hair in and combed his fingers through it as he walked at an easy pace, taking his time to seek out Phryana. He figured that was as good a place to start as any and if he failed to woo the goldrider there would be plenty of options that she turned down to pick from as well. He wasn't anything like his dragon in terms of how he dealt with rejection, though as he approached and saw those that had found Phryana first, his lip curled with mild distaste. He knew those who appreciated the rougher crowd but he certainly wasn't one of them.

"A beautiful night for a maiden flight, Phryana," he said smoothly, his voice holding an almost musical tone to it. His gaze darted for a moment to the other two men gathered, his charming smile fading to a less than enthused one before turning steadily back to Phryana. "A rather...cliché group of bronzeriders, wouldn't you say?"

---

Adarith: Adarith isn't the nicest dragon out there. He is very demanding and has a very short temper, which is a combination for a volatile creature. Brimming with energy, Adarith requires mental and physical exertion to keep out of trouble. He has scars from scrapes with other dragons and he wears them with pride. He uses his demeanor and his size to his advantage and when he is the smaller dragon in a situation, he doesn't let it get to his head. Despite his rough personality he is a fierce fighter and defender of his home, and to those that can withstand his brutish ways, they can find an honorable and loyal friend and soldier beneath the dark hide.

The other competitors might as well have not existed, for all of the care that Illiandinth gave them... and why should it not be so? This was Kleoth's moment alone. A flicker of red shot with violet flared through the bronze's eyes at the queen's acknowledgement, however brief it might have been. He let out a bellow, winging after her as she took to the skies. Bloodsport had never phased the Demon, and as some among the growing pack sought to draw ichor, an urge began to stir within his chest.

But more drawing than that was the purpose for which he was here. A stubborn determination flared through him, and he flared his wings open, powerful muscles propelling him upward after Kleoth. He would not insult her by making claims that he did not mean. She certainly deserved better than a false profession of love. The hunt was afoot and he intended to see it through. The dwindling light cast long shadows, painting the Weyr in shades of grey quite at odds with the queen's brilliant hide. His world, for the moment, collapsed to this moment alone.

As much as the prospect of drawing blood to prove himself appealed to his primal, hunting instinct, he was no brute, to tear others from the sky. Justice and passion were two sides of a very similarly crafted mark, and he would suffer her blows gladly to prove his worth; taking his anger out on the competition was a distraction from her shining perfection.

He knew he was not the strongest or largest (or most experienced) king in the sky that evening, despite his prevailing self-confidence. He was built on sleeker lines, agile and nimble where a bronze might have been expected to be slow. Tierboskath's goading tickled him, and he was determined to prove that not all bronzes were slow.

Easy. Control your strength and speed so you last the full Flight. Kito counselled through the haze of flightlust, closing deft fingers over his palm as tension coursed through him.

There was no answer he could give her lack of response, and no desire to enrage her further. Auriath was steadfast in his desire to pursue her, but would not hurt others for her. Worthiness came in many forms, and bloodshed only had value in the scars suffered from Threadfighting, in his mind. He tore after her as she took to the skies, watching, waiting and judging the best approach.

Kito gathered with the growing crowd, his easy-going demeanour concealing the swell he felt within himself, the desperate desire to pull Phryana away from the crowd of men around her. Patience. A hunt was not to be entered into without consideration and reflection, and he knew Auriath would get his time.

It was a strong start for the bronze, and he found himself in a good position within the group. Not at the front, but not too far behind, either. Auriath delighted in the challenge, once more enthralled as his world narrowed to Kleoth.

Kito: Available for a night of fun, 19, pansexual, ex-Rivercrest Hold courtesan, more about living in the moment and leans towards a hedonistic lifestyle.
Positive Trait List: Effervescent - Thoughtful - Charming
Negative Trait List: Shallow - Garrulous - Fidgety

Auriath: Vain, passionate, light-hearted and fun, Auriath believes himself a shining, resplendent beacon of dragonkind. He's a little particular and over-the-top, and his teasing banter often ventures into cutting territory. He doesn't mean to be rude, truly, but sometimes he just doesn't think things through very well (blame it on a short attention-span). Can sometimes be pompous and self-indulgent, although never with malicious intent. Very particular about looking and feeling his best, the recent Threadfall left him with a collection of scars he both rues and boasts about: look at him. Such a warrior.
Positive Trait List: Ardent - Attentive - Amiable
Negative Trait List: Teaser - Devil's advocate - Fussy
