K'gan at the wall.- Dragon card!

K'gan picked himself up just like the rest and tried again. Al through K'gan rather prided himself in never being the sore looser and always standing willing to congratulate others on their successes seeing Onasta sail past him with such relative ease still stung.

Rubbing the worst of the mud off his hands and onto his pants K'gan tackled the wall a second time with a more conservative approach, taking it from the ground he hooked his fingers onto one of the handholds and started to a haul himself up.

It worked, for the first foot then, just as he leaned his weight into the next grip something snapped and the nailed block came completely away from the main structure. His arms windmilled comically for a moment before he once more fell back with a wet splat. Looking up all he could see was the rest of the party scrabbling up and over the top to seek out the next challenge. Grumbling and cursing his bad luck he pulled himself up for a second time.

Enough was enough.. "Right. Dragon card!" He announced. Still laughing Singarth appeared over head a second later. He lowered down one leg carefully and K'gan grabbed the curve of his claw so when Singarth lifted up and over the wall he was easily able to deposit his rider on the other side, safe and sound.

Ezyzu at the Wall

Quote:
You made it over, yay for you. You didn't do anything special but nor did you humiliate yourself. Carry on.

With a better if minute understanding of the wall, Ezyzu raced towards it. Her fingers dig in, feet slipping occasionally but otherwise gripping as she climbed. There's a renewed energy in her as she gets close to the top of the wall. From the side, Khamaith chirped and sent a wave of warmth to cheer on her rider. Ezyzu could do this! Hand after foot, her stomach was used as a leverage point crossing over the top.

Just had to scuttle down the side, carefully. Yet the mud she was covered in made it a tad difficult -- but done! One obstacle down, just a few to go. The weyrling turned, eyeing the rope swing as she headed towards it.

SOUI AT THE WALL: ATTEMPT #2

She was still at the wall, but she was going to try again. Soui wasn't the type to stop after she started no matter how things went, and so she eagerly started towards the mud wall again.

Quote:
1: Well done! You are a beautiful majestic f**ker and you bounded over that wall like a mighty stag. People have tears in their eyes witnessing your athletic prowess.

This time without someone in front of her or behind her, Soui all but flew over the wall. Perhaps all that upper body strength she had actually could some in handy? It certainly did surprise her when she sailed up and over the second time around and she nearly fell on her face once she was over the top.

"Whooooaaa! Onward, onward!!!" Cheering herself on, the little healer started towards the second challenge. She was covered head to toe in mud and laughing all the while.

O'len at The Wall

He shuffled a few lively steps backward, despite his filthiness, and ran for the wall again, scaling it... eventually. O'len picked up speed once he had risen to his feet for the second time, scurrying toward the rope swing ahead.

2: Wellllll you got over the Obstacle but it was less Mighty stag and more like the flopping of a half dead fish. Try and pick yourself up, dust yourself up and hope no one was watching too closely.

Onasta at the Rope and the Pit

Quote:
2: Wellllll you got over the Obstacle but it was less Mighty stag and more like the flopping of a half dead fish. Try and pick yourself up, dust yourself up and hope no one was watching too closely.

Given the way the wall went she was a slight bit more optimistic coming up to the mud pit like she was, even if her short legs made it seem as though she weren't going near as fast. All the same it came up quicker than she meant for it to and it took everything that Onasta had to leap without slipping on the mud and landing on her face. The force of her leap actually carried her over the pit but when she let go she landed square on her back with a yelp that morphed into a laugh.

Spun around the way she was by the force she could see others coming up behind her and scrambled to her feet once more, not at all worried about how it looked or if they'd seen that landing, it was mud! Though she had to listen to the running commentary that Jibasth was giving her on how her entire backside was beginning to morph into the same color as his hide Onasta was able to do it without laughing and falling over once more. In front of her loomed another obstacle after all, it wouldn't do well to lose her momentum now just because the brown dragon was picking on her goodnaturedly.

You've never been good at anything involving a net, remember that! Jibasth offered, his eyes swirling bright blues and sparks of green as he bugled his amusement and support from the sidelines of the entire event. This one is coated in mud and extra slippery, make sure you go a bit slower or you'll end up flipping over and falling down just like with that rope and pit. Not that it wouldn't be funny to see that happen.

"Oh don't be deliberately mean!" Onasta yelled out as she sped up just a bit.

Vosin @ The Wall

The bright red haired woman backed up and took stock of the wall. Her dragon tried to help with encouragement. Come along Vosin. You jump up to my shoulders with ease all the time. Surely you can manage this tiny wall.

The woman grunted. I believe your exaggerating Killakeeth. I climb up your arm. I'm not exactly a runner leaping over a fence with ten foot clearance. She'd watched the racing runners for a time and it had been exciting. Killakeeth had particularly liked participating in betting on them.

With a deep breath she started a short sprint forward. She jumped. Up and up she went. Her hand just missing the top and she stumbled back down.

Onto The crawl net:
Hattaki

Crawl net

The crawl net is pretty much what it says on the tin. A large stretch of netting has been spread out and staked down in the mud securely.
If you have avoided getting coated in mud before now this challenge makes that impossible as participants have to get down on their bellies and wriggle under and through the narrow space.

The crawl net is made even more tricky by doubling as a simple maze. You can't just go straight as the net has also had sections pinned down in the middle which are hard to see untill you come across them. You can't push your way through these secured areas, the only way is go around to sections where you can still squeeze under
.

K'gan at the rope swing.

Once Singarth had released his rider K'gan was off once more, only mildly slowed by the mud that plastered almost every inch of him and fell away from his clothing in wet clumps as he ran. He didn't even slow down as he approached the next obstacle.

Barely looking or spending time to adjust his tedectaory he grabbed the rope and swung out. Unsurprisingly his aim was poor, and the swing failed to take him all the way to the other side. Instead he swung back and spun awkwardly in the middle of the path before he managed to catch the bank with his foot and make another attempt.

This time he landed but it was with windmill arms and several stumbles. when at last he felt solid ground again he whooped in victory and ran on.

Onasta at the Crawl Net

Running full speed towards the next obstacle in the gamut that K'gan had built around the Bowl, Onasta didn't exactly know what it was she was looking at until it was almost too late to duck for it. Stretches of ropes slung out across an ankle deep swamp of mud and since it looked like she wouldn't be able to high step it into safe spots between those ropes.... she was going to have to get even muddier. Without stopping she dropped down to the ground and slid through the mud under the ropes, trying to keep her head above it since she was so slim that it was squishing into her clothes and against her neck as she crawled quickly through it.

Sliming through the ropes she managed to miss having her hair get snared up in them as she wormed under the ropes that were slung low but just high enough that it was obvious which ones were meant to crawl under. "But through so much muuuuud!" Onasta laughed a bit and spit mud from her mouth after the second rope she crawled under. Slower than she wanted to but fast enough because she knew that others had to be close behind now that they'd gotten off the wall, the redhead used her elbows to wade through the mud.

She would need to remind K'gan of all the reasons she would hate mud in the future after this was over, but she was out on the other side of the ropes at least!

O'len at Rope N' Pit

He already knew he was behind, though he was trying not to concentrate on that. At least Aleyath was having fun, watching his rider grow ever more sloppy with mud until he was almost as brown as the dragon. O'len knew the best course of action would be to run and leap, but his approach was going to have to be second best. He needed a few seconds to prepare himself for being submerged in waist-deep slop. Ew.

5: Nope complete failure, this whole obstacle is just a mystery to you, The logistics behind a rope swing have never seemed more complicated. If you try your failure is complete or you could just hang back to analyze the situation for the next round.

Ezyzu at the Rope and Pit

Quote:
4:Oooooo So close, you almost had it but at the last minute your foot slipped or you lost your grip and down you went into the mud.

With her confidence high, Ezyzu made a break for the rope swing over the pit. She launches off the deck, hands clasping at the rope. Her swing felt great, but just as she was about to land on the other side.. Her foot slips. On the backswing, her grip slides on the mud-slick rope, and the weyrling tumbles down into the mud.

Are you okay? Khamaith's tone was instantly worried, yet relaxed once Ezyzu perked her head up, spitting mud out. Ew.

I'm fine, no worries! A bit less dignified, but she shrugged it off with a little laugh and moved to set back up.

Vosin @ The Wall

Vosin gave a grunt as she made a leap towards the top of the wall. For a second her hand started to slip from all the mud on her, but then her fingers found purchase. With another grunt and heave, she toppled over the top and down into the mud on the other side.

Oh so graceful Vosin. And I do believe you're the last one to make it over. Oh put a sock in it, you've got wings. She wiped mud from her face, probably only making the smear worst, and got ready for the next challenge.

With the wall behind her, a rope and a pit loomed ahead. Already muddy from her falls and giggling with delight over how much fun she was having, Soui prepped to give the trial a go.

Quote:
6: It looks like you are going to fail this obstacle to but no...wait! At the last minute something happens that allows you to pass the test. This could be anything, maybe the obstacle even broke or lurched to allow you to cheat your way past. But you made it, and no one complained, so on you go.

Honestly she had...no idea how she made it through. Her muddy hands hadn't allowed for much of a grip on the rope, and she was falling but - somehow she made it over.

Not complaining, but ready to keep going - Soui moved on to the next course!

Run to the finish line!

You're almost there! You can see the finish line . It's just a straight run to the end. Of course, it's not that easy. There is still that tricky thick clinging mud to deal with. And it's covering plenty of dips and rocks on the ground which could cause even the most steady to trip and fall.
