Sa’do leaned back laughing as the greenrider gave his rather inspiring speech for his win that included his dragon that only reminded him of his own lazy bronze. Eventually the laugh rolled into a cough that he had to bury into the pillow, which only made him look like he was trying to suffocate himself entirely. It took a few minutes to calm himself down, or at least to ge to a point he could breathe normally and no longer be entirely red in the face.

Luckily for A’ye the moment Sa’do could see again the greenrider was already back face first on the floor which only caused the scrambling to see if he was alright.

“You ok? Do you want some help getting back in bed?” This time he didn’t wait for an answer before swinging his legs over the edge of the bed and worked his way down to the floor to at least help. More so the bronzerider was worried that maybe the A’ye had passed out on the floor from laughing and coughing too much.

"That would be awesome, thank you." A'ye's voice was muffled by the floor and the blanket, and he made no effort to raise his head and let his (likely red from being smooshed) face be shown. Instead he softly pushed up and waited for assistance, too embarrassed beyond all reason to look a fellow sick person in the eye. "Though it...looks like I might be the sole winner of the 'You tried' award, given out shortly after all the others."

Oyath was rolling, practically tearing up everything around her with how much she was enjoying all that was going on. Her merriment was enough to keep A'ye from just pretending to be unconscious to get it over with.

“Really it’s not a problem.” He got on his knees and looped an arm under A’ye’s elbow in order to help him back up to his feet. Without a doubt he understood the feeling of embarrassment of landing on one’s face but if he learned anything from being sick it was you were likely to be embarrassed a lot even when you didn’t want to. It was something that Rynsaith was bringing up every chance he got.

“I don’t know about that, besides this could be way worse trust me.” He got to his feet slowly taking A’ye with him as cautiously as he could. The last thing he wanted to do was cause the greenrider to fall over again for the third time in one night.

A'ye did cough though, his body shaking with the force behind it. The movements were a bit too much despite how slow and careful the pair had been, and his time on the floor had allowed him to accumulate a bit of gunk in his lungs he hadn't noticed. The coughing was rough, painful, and A'ye attempted to push Sa'do away in an effort not to cough on him or cause more problems. The flailing backfired gloriously as his foot once more caught the blanket he should have lifted, and he found himself going down.

This time, however, someone was going with him and in this case it happened to be a very unfortunate bronzerider who'd only been trying to do the right thing. The smaller greenrider collapsed atop him like a dead sack, and his body trembled as the last of the coughs escaped his lips. This was not what he wanted this was not his beautiful infirmary cot or the bed in his personal weyr.

This was a nightmare and he really, really wanted to wake up.

Sa’do frowned as he could feel the rider next to him shake as the cough rattled through his body. Despite his best intentions to take it easy the coughing only grew worse enough that the bronzerider could feel him pull away. “Hold on wait….” The words barely escaped his lips before the weight shifted and his foot pulled from underneath him in the wrong direction sending any hope of balance askew.

There was a heavy thud as Sa’do hit the floor on his back and the ceiling for a few seconds looked as if it had stars floating all around it in some dizzy like pattern. A weight trembled on his chest as the greenrider continued to cough the last bit of fluid from his lungs. Not sure of what else to do Sa’do hesitantly brought a hand and gave a few reassuring taps to make sure all of the coughing was gone.

“You ok?”

"......" If he'd had the strength (and ability) to do so, A'ye would have teleported off of Sa'do and out of High Reaches, probably off the face of the planet if he could. He sadly didn't have that ability, and instead remained frozen where he was. His lungs burned, his whole body ached, and it felt as though he didn't even have the strength to try and roll himself free. All he could do was stare blankly at the wall across from where the pair was stuck, and all his body could do was faintly tremble.

It was the fever making him shake, he chided himself. The fever and all that coughing, that was why he was trembling like a newborn dragonet fresh from shell. He was cold, that was it. Cold, and ruining the life of the person beneath him. "s...s...sorry. I'll try and get up." He pressed his arm down on the floor in an effort to lift, but the sharpness in his lungs made any attempt more painful than it should have been. He couldn't move even if he wanted, and A'ye just collapsed back down. "I'm sorry."

This really wasn't the worst thing to happen to him as Sa’do laid on the floor still staring up at the ceiling and swallowing the blush that dared to creep along his cheeks. It wasn't helping that Rynsaith was somewhere laughing his bronze hide off at his rider’s riders expense with full intentions to use it against him later. So far in a span of a week the bronzerider had found himself closer than comfort to others despite spending most of his life avoiding if not pretending it didn't exist.

The other rider was still trembling despite the coughing had dissipated causing Sa’do to finally look at him with concern. Even when A’ye tried to get up he seemed to be in pain, the trembling just getting worse.

“It’s ok… really we can take a moment and try to move again slowly.” Unsure of what else to do he wrapped an arm around, maybe the trembling was from the cold?

“Just let me know when you can move and we can try again.”

As the arm wrapped about his body, A'ye did indeed stop trembling - though it also seemed as though he stopped breathing as well. His body grew very stiff as his eyes drew wide, but there was a hard sound of exhale as perhaps he was just startled by the sudden movement. Yes, that had to be it. They were both super sick, super weak, and trapped on the floor where a healer was likely to stumble on them and get upset.

"Good....good thing I'm tiny, yeah? Imagine if I was a bear of a guy or something...." A'ye spoke, all the while not looking at Sa'do or anywhere near him. He was focused on the wall, and on getting air back into his lungs properly. He needed to calm down and get up and off him and away and out of the infirmary, but those were all just blank thoughts.

After what seemed like forever silence in his mind, broken only by the thuds of his heartbeat, there was a faint voice. Calm down. Oyath's words were soothing and echoing, like a sweet balm. You're upsetting me, and I don't like it. It was so much easier to use herself as a bargaining chip. the green knew and somewhat hated this, but it worked. She'd been laughing so happily earlier, but not now. Not anymore. Mine, just get some rest. You're tired.

A’ye had stopped trembling, so he was only just cold Sa’do thought with a bit of ease traveling into his lungs. He was afraid that despite the fact he could talk he had hurt himself more and at his current state the bronzerider couldn't do much to help him. At least Rynsaith’s laughing had finally faded instead there was an edge of concern, maybe from the concussion as Sa’do’s head still ached with a dull pain.

“Really, it’s ok. I'm just glad you aren't hurt or anything.” He didn't know what else to say to make the situation better, he was sure it was embarrassing but it definitely wasn't the worst thing he had ever encountered. At least no one had puked on him yet and no one had any real broken bones so it would all be ok. Soon they could move and go back to their beds and in a few days it would be like nothing happened. Just a passing dream from the fever right?

Rynsaith’s voice was still edged with concern as he tried to reassure him.

"I'm really sorry." A'ye struggled for a moment to get his bearings, and with a massive groan he managed to push himself up and off of Sa'do. He rolled to the side and pushed himself into a sitting position, his lung screaming for air with the bit of effort he had to give in his movements. Talking hadn't been such a problem, but he was still far to frail to do much else. Hopefully a healer would be by shortly and help him up, but there was no strength left in the rider's body to do any more.

The color that had come from laughter was long drained from his face, and he felt beyond bad. Swaying slightly, he felt himself start to drop over and into unconsciousness.

“Really it isn’t a problem.” Sa’do’s blue eyes kept their focus on the stoney ceiling before watching the greenrider when he rolled himself off finally and sat up. Taking in a breath of air he coughed for a moment before sitting up and rubbing the back of his head making sure there wasn’t any sort of bumps or worse blood. Shifting to his knees and watching A’ye he noticed the green slowly starting to sway before dropping over.

“Hey hey!” He scrambled to catch him in case he tilted forward onto the floor. “Let’s get you back into bed.”

Trying to peek up above the beds he didn’t see anyone or at least not any of the healers free at the moment. It was going to be slow but Sa’do was going to try to lift him back into bed.

Thankfully for Sa'do, A'ye wasn't particularly large or particularly heavy, which should have made the task a little easier for the bronzerider. His body was burning up from the fever and his breathing was shallow; all of the laughter and movement and stress had done him absolutely no favors.

A healer was shortly along and he tutted at the pair, helping to move A'ye from S'del and getting him into the bed. The bronzerider was given a stern talking to of his own for being up and about while so clearly ill.
