Words words words. All these dragons were just talking too much! It was all prattle, and far too much after the long stretches of months where the only voice he heard was B'tar's. The green at least had a voice he found he wouldn't mind listening to, even if it grated to hear her calling to the others. This was a flight, a time to chase and wheel and show the strength of their wings. Sweet words had nothing to do with it.
He was too busy leering at the other males, and fully lost track of the pretty little green when the wind snatched her up, though once he found her again he was swift to power after her. He wasn't the biggest brown by far, which gave him at least a little dexterity to help keep up with her agile path.

His focus had been compromised by the violence of that strange, angry brown, so when Eosphoth executed such a sharp change of direction, Auroth nearly missed it. He certainly missed the fact that it had been a bit of an accident. At any rate, the thought of Efraath winning the flight vexed him greatly, so he put some extra effort into his own acrobatics.
He pointed his nose toward the fast-moving green, tucked his wings, and swung his tail as hard as he could. He turned and managed to unfurl at just the right moment, and with a few strong beats of his wings, he came closer to Eosphoth than he’d yet been. His eyes whirled violet, and he belted out a joyous note. Eosphoth, how skillfully you fly! Would we not make a wonderful match?
I would sing you praise, of your lovely hide, your caring nature, how much you mean. I would sing you tales of the moon and his lover the sun...for what would I give to radiate your light as he does for her~. Iriseth couldn't help but feel delight as he watched her bank, and turn. A bit awkward, but he responded swiftly. The blue dropped, finding an awkward moment of shock as he snapped his wings open a bit late to follow her in the air, Oh lovely green, let me always sing to you.

Well you certainly won't wear them out. Is that the point, dear one? Danzik rubbed her temples as the green bugled - perhaps with amusement at the reaction her very serious bonded was having to the entire ordeal. But what mirth there was, the green gently shared with the males who had chosen to give chase - even the angry one. Still, she trilled appreciatively at the magnificent flying that Eldwinth and Iriseth were showing. They certainly were very skillful.
Your wings catch the air so magnificently! she praised, ducking to fly lower ever so briefly, closing her whirling eyes as the wind blew about her, currents a friend to a body so meant to fly. She knew this one well, and perhaps many older dragons would also have used such ever moving drafts for far travel, but for Eosphoth....all it took was her wings spread wide for the wind to catch the current and for the green to be pushed off, forward with growing speed - perhaps sign that she'd be continuing to speed up?
But any dragon that could catch that current - or realized it was there, perhaps - would find keeping up with her fairly easy.

Being praised again made Eldwinth swell with pride. He was glad she enjoyed the words he was saying to her, glad that she enjoyed his flying, he was a graceful brown and he adored being different from the status quo everyone was use to. His eyes watched as she seemed to catch a current and he laughed softly as he suddenly remembered this current from when he and his Azrael first took flight as weyrlings, he had scared his dropping down into it, spreading his wings and then letting them be carried off.
He did the same after the lovely green, letting out a bugle instead of words this time. It seemed as if he was the first one to catch on to her tactic, something he was proud of, but he kept his focus on the flight.

Efraath was not intimately familir with the currents around the Weyr, and his aggressive need to try to keep driving off other males kept him from focusing close enough to see exactly where or how the lovely green had snagged the wind. It left him scrambling somewhat, almost clawing at the air as he tried to regain lost ground.

Orioth found that the strange brown was still snarling and snapping. The blue wasn't sure who he was, but he wished he'd bugger off and at least keep things from getting out of hand. While the green was beautiful, he didn't exactly condone violence or nasty aggression in flight. So it was, his eyes danced with amusement and humor as the brown struggled; he himself knew exactly where the green was going, accustomed to the local currants, and was quick to change direction to follow suit. Some males just got too hot-headed, though if he let his own fangs bare as he smugly passed... well. Served the brown right for snapping and lashing out at others!
Thankfully, he hadn't been too far behind Eosphoth, and was quick to catch the thermal she rode. While he might have been a bit rusty when it came to chasing, he felt as if it was time to step up his game. There was another strange brown and Iriseth showing their best selves... Maybe it was time to use some of his stamina and show off a bit himself.

He bugled after her as she dove, his wings moving with the breeze as it shifted. It took only a moment for the Blue to realize what she meant to do, and could he smile, as His did, he might have. With a trill of pleasure, Iriseth let his body fall in to the current, wings spreading wide to catch it so that he might speed to her. This, this was how he wished to spend his days, following a beauty like her through the air, showing his skill in flight that he might surpass his competitors. His heart soared in his chest with pride, Lovely one, I long for you~.
Please keep your head about you, Iriseth... C'yx had to roll his eyes, leaning back against his spot in the hall. No, he wasn't going after another Rider, mostly because he didn't have interest in indulging flightlust if he could avoid it. C'yx did, after all, have feelings for another...even if he'd not seen him in some time.

I have no idea what you're doing, but really? Danzik massaged her temple, though she was not really annoyed with her bonded so seemed to be having such a fun time. It wasn't that she was a bad flier in this case, it was simply that she was joined by such good ones. Not that any judgement that Danzik had would have bothered Eosphoth, who bugled triumphantly. With a single, strong beat of her wings she launched herself from the current she rode and upwards.
She continued to climb, though it didn't seem to be a struggle to do so - even when it was a straight ascent, rather than the meandering circling she'd been doing previously. Once she was as high as she wanted, she did begin to circle, looking at each chaser that still pursued with interest and sweet trills.
------ I give up on seeing a real roll from this lady Up and up she goes! How high? Well, probably as high as her wings will allow! Roll Strength and Stamina ------
Oh, she was lovely. Watching her climb in to the light only distracted the shimmering Blue for a moment, but once he was content, he spread his wings and beat upwards, calling his triumphant joy in her success as he himself followed. True, he was not the strongest flyer of a Blue, but oh, how he hoped that Eosphoth might honor him. Lovely Green, if I catch you, all my songs will be yours.

Too blinded by the pride he was now feeling, Eldwinth didn't notice when the lovely green had begun to climb, suddenly out of the air current. He managed to pull out of it, not as quickly as he would have wanted to, but he tried not to let it bother him. He pumped his wings, not trailing some behind her, more then he wished he was, working his hardest to catch up.

Efraath twisted, meaning to angle sharply up after the pretty green...when a sharp mental pang from his rider made him stumble. Or whatever the flying equivalent of a stumble was. The brown shrieked, informing his rider who was all but shouting through their bond that his business was done, that they could leave now please, that it was far too late and he would have his prize too before they left. Delayed but no less determined, the brown began to climb up after all the rest, fixated enough on the green that he could almost ignore how much closer all the other males were to her just then.

The blue dragon watched as the lovely lady suddenly launched almost straight up. The blue was quick to follow, tapping into the energy and strength he had been trying to reserve. Ah, how the lovely green looked; such a thing of beauty! So sweet, so magnificent, so beautiful.
His purple eyes whirled with desire, and he met her trill with one his own. Who would win her heart this flight? Could he dare to hope? He forgot about all the others, and only watched the lovely green before him. Sweetest Eosphoth...Most lovely Eosphoth. You are a beauty to behold on land and on wing.
Liat wasn't entirely sure she'd be able to find Eosphoth's rider. In fact, about all she could focus on was the wind against her face, the strain within her shoulders as she fought hard to rise up, up, up... The flight was fast and furious, and she'd delayed leaving her quarters a bit too long. Was it a left or a right down this corridor.... She wasn't sure if she was heading more towards the general quarters or the kitchens. Bah. She should have just stayed and finished working.

Auroth found himself thinking twice about his impulsive decision to join this flight. But, then again, he hadn't expected to be pitted against such skilled fliers. With a massive effort, his wings beat the air and lifted him after his quarry. He'd gone the entire flight without attempting anything of a musical nature, but now he sang out a rather flat note... and belatedly hoped his enthusiasm would make up for it.
Higher and higher he went, trying in vain to catch up to the pack. He was still quite young, and not yet in his prime. If he failed this flight, there was the small comfort that would be many more to come in his lifetime.
