As they approached he watched as she looked around and he slunk a little further ahead and gave a good look himself. He didn't see anyone and gave a small nod of his head. "You cross and I'll keep watch and then join you." He offered to her.
He would stand watch and make sure she got across safely, or without being seen, not that there was anyone around that he noticed. This was kind of fun, like a mini adventure.
