Kilua noticed the Ambassador from another pride, but she hung around Asha for a few moments longer, looking towards her friend with her dark eyes. She smiled at her friend before moving along the crowd of new-comers.

She enjoyed that the news of her festival reached further out, drawing prides in from whatever reaches they came from. It was what the pride was about beyond the healing.

Asha smiled back at her, tilting her head a bit, but the white leopardess's attention was quickly drawn back to her cubs, and Kilua took it as a sign to approach the cheetah group that came to the Festival. Asha took the opportunity to shuffle Gyda towards Dafina and Byakko, just to ensure her little ones didn't get into trouble. She wanted to keep a close eye on them, especially with so many strangers about.

Kilua smiled at the cheetah group. "Welcome," She greeted easily. She had noticed their attention on her a bit earlier.

Gwarredd felt himself relax a touch when Asha made attempts at gathering her cubs. Most of the adults were capable to defend themselves, should anything come to that, but those darling cubs would make for an easy meal. He shuddered at the thought of that and any relaxation he felt wound up again and he was watching without hesitation.

"Perhaps one day you'll make a fine Guard?" Though his golden eyes didn't look to his step-daughter he recognized that she was there and even showed some pride in her. The hybrid took a moment to gaze at him curiously, but remained a silent party. "Look a how many have come. So many have joined us, it's a great." The word great came out in a tone that suggested otherwise.

Fortunately he only spoke loud enough for his step daughter to hear.

---

Tamu listened to her step-father willingly, he didn't often speak in heaps, but when he spoke it wasn't a wasted breath. The only occasion in which she'd seen him waste words were when he was furious, which was rare or if he was incredibly nervous, also rare.

So for him to speak now meant he likely had a lot of pent up nerves or worries in relation to what he spoke about. "Father, would you like to speak with them?" She inquired for his ears only, but received silence as her response, had he even heard her? She'd likely not know, but this wasn't an uncommon response when he was in the line of duty. Safety became priority number one and she recognized that, even admired it.

---

Dafina had eagerly returned to her Mother and was quick to attach to a leg - she'd become tired, but was forcing herself awake with all of the excitement. "Mom, who are they?" She inquired, a quizzically exhausted face up turned to her Mother in hopes for clarification, something she hadn't received from any other sources just yet.

User Image"Hello Byakko I'm Kalanko," the lion said, looking down at the cub. He smiled as she quite correctly pointed out his size. Before he had the time to answer her another small leopard joined the first.

"I am big," he agreed and winked at the two cubs, "Hello there, is this your sibling?" But before he got an answer the silent one ran back to its mother.

Zrathi bowed her head in return, feeling slightly awkward. Socializing didn't come easily for her, but she was determined to make an effort. Better stay away from the foreign ones, just to be safe.

"Hello," she paused, wondering if she should try to repeat his name back to him or not. She'd probably botch it somehow so she didn't. "Ah... I'm Zrathi. That's Fluess. She helps me... with the healing."

The spotted lioness tried a small smile.

User Image"She's better at healing than talking," Fluess added helpfully, and then ducked out of range in case Zrathi would take offense.

User Image Another female lioness filed in behind the cheetahs, gazing at the clearing, the grounds, and all assembled there. Vibrant green eyes shone, all bemused - although the smile on her muzzle indicated that she found nothing wrong with that. It wasn't anything serious: Cato simply couldn't bring to mind a time when she - as a lion - was in the minority of a gathering before just now. It was both strange and utterly exciting, and the green-toed female found herself more intrigued with this collection of creatures by the moment.

As she finished her once-over of the area, Cato found her eyes drawn by a number of figures. One, a green female with positively startling eyes, appeared to be in substantial conversation with the cadre of cheetahs that had come in not long before. Her presence seemed soothing and entirely authoritative to Cato - but she was otherwise engaged.

There was also a leopard, however, who appeared to be alone save for some little ones. The brown lioness' eyes lit up at the sight of them. The leopard himself appeared to be quite stern. A guardian figure for this pride, perhaps? Maybe even a leader. With this in mind, Cato picked her way over to him. "Excuse me. If it isn't too much trouble, would you be able to tell me what's going on here?" She smiled, obviously a little self-conscious for asking. "It appears to be quite the event!"

The dark leopard had been listening to his step-daughter who seemed to finally find a voice, but became silent as a stranger approached. One of which Gwarredd had begun to watch from a distance and with mild interest. Of course when she got within speaking distance there were some question, ones he happily answered.

"The Festival of Life." It was clear in his tones that he was a proud member of the pride. "This festival is used to celebrate the life brought into the pride whether in cubs being born or in rogues joining as well as celebrating the lives of those who has passed." Fortunately he couldn't think of any soul that had left this life to join the gods/goddesses, but he could have missed something - or it was before his time.

"We're happy to have you join us today - it'd be wonderful if you'd participate in some of our events." He offered, a friendly smile flashing across his maw. "I'm Gwarredd, by the way."

As it would seem Kilua approached the group and she gave her a warm smile and then gave head bow back to the cheetahs. "It was nice to talk to you, but I'll let you all converse." She said warmly taking leave of the conversation and moving a little more of a quiet spot to look around. She had been a little tired as of late and just wanted to rest a moment.

"It's nice to meet you Kalanko." She said sounding out the syllables as she said his name. He seemed to just tower over her and some of the other members so she was quite fascinated by this. "Do you think I'll ever be as big as you?" Harmless enough question.

Glancing over towards her silent sister she turned her attention back to the male and then back towards where she had been sitting to see she had scampered away. "Yes, that was my sister." She said wondering why she up and left. Shrugging she turned back towards him. "I may go see where she's off to." She said to him, not wanting to just up and leave without a goodbye of some sort.

Mariko laughed. "How do YOU know?" She teased him back with a wink. Her attention snapped towards their mother as she essentially demanded their full attention and best behavior without actually saying it. It was crazy how she did that sometimes. She watched all the cubs running around and felt her heart yearn for some of her own. One day. Oh boy was she in for a surprise.

Vappu had enjoyed their time on the road and this time there hadn't been as much running back and forth as when her pride migrated. She ran ahead now and then just for fun, but there was no need for going all the way back to the pridelands to look for stragglers like when they had moved from Sikukuu. She'd talked to a pride member near the border of their lands to make sure they were at the right place and apparently there was some kind of party going on. With that piece of good news she had returned to the small group. It would be more fun if they got there together after all.

Jellon had also volunteered when he heard that his brother Gwyllt would accompany the former Queen, now the Master of Ceremonies, on a field trip of sorts. The King couldn't come, for obvious reasons. Even though their roles as "Master of Ceremonies" was, well... cerimonal, it wouldn't look good if they both took off. The young lion was new to his team and while he'd played some games he wasn't in the regular team line up. Jellon would have liked if the coach had protested more when he asked for a short leave, but at least he got permission!

The young player wasn't terribly interested in the art of healing. As long as a medic was there to patch him up as needed if he hurt himself playing he didn't really care how they did the patching up. However, he could see the value in learning new tricks, and the Queen had apparently been a medic waaaay back. She was probably a good choice to talk to this medic-pride about... things... and stuff... Plus - adventure time!

He was just there to help escort the group and make sure they made it there in one piece. There had been no incidents on the way, and they had managed to hunt enough to sustain them. Jellon wasn't sure if he should be disappointed about the lack of action or not.

Ester was pleased to hear from Vappu that they seem to have arrived during a celebration. Truth be told, she missed Sikukuu's celebrations, even though Kwa Kikombe had tried to accommodate their old ways a little. It made her heart ache to think about having to abandon the pride's lands and leave behind the old ways, so she pressed those thoughts from her mind as they entered the area where it seemed the gathering was happening. She led her little group into the active, milling crowd, looking for someone who seemed to be of enough status to ask for hospitality and teaching. Catching sight of Viiva's nervous expression, she paused to give the cheetah a reassuring smile.

Viiva timidly followed close to Ester. She and Gwyllt were about the same age, but she still always somehow felt so very young and inexperienced. It didn't help at all that they had still been pretty young when the pride had been driven from their lands by those terrible insects, and she'd had to try to find her own place within the new pride's structure. Truthfully, everything was so very rowdy in Kwa Kikombe, she constantly felt out of place. She was very much hoping that learning to be a healer like Queen Ester might help with that. Even so, the prospect of meeting all these new creatures had her trembling faintly. She wished she had the confidence and exuberance of Vappu, but whenever she tried, she usually found herself hiding soon after. For now, she stayed brave enough to stick like a burr to her former queen's flank.

Gwyllt had welcomed the idea of a new adventure. Escorting their former queen to another pride to further her healer studies was a great honor. He found he savored it much more than constantly playing that kikombe game. Somehow, that excitement had worn thin rather quickly. Perhaps it was the lack of variety, when he'd grown up with the many different games, events, and festivals. He missed Sikukuu's enjoyment of all things good and lovely. Fireflies, snow, good hunts, swimming, love! So many things to treasure, and their new pride chose... a single game. It chafed at him, though he kept his discontent firmly under wraps. Kwa Kikombe had been very kind and generous to welcome them, and he wasn't about to sully that goodness with his personal feelings. Even so, this is why he had eagerly volunteered for this chance to get away from their new home and travel.

To his further delight, his brother had come as well! Now as they approached this healer pride and their gathering, his ears pricked with interest. "What do you suppose they celebrate?" he asked Jellon quietly as they moved into the crowd.

User ImageKalanko had never seen a leopard rival the size of a full grown lion. He'd seen leopons that came pretty close, however. It was unlikely that this little girl would grow anywhere as big as him, but that was such a boring thing to say...

"Who knows?" he said, winking at her.

"You do that," he said, nodding a good bye, or maybe a see you later, "Nice to meet you Byakko."

---

Jellon didn't answer straight away, instead he thought about what a healing pride would celebrate. Healing? Or was that to obvious? It was springtime, and he wondered if they'd have similar games and feasts as they had back in Sikukuu.

"Uh... Something with spring or flowers?" he guessed, "Something like the festival of luck maybe."

He realised that he had started to forget all the different celebrations Sikukuu had held. The young lion had been even younger when they migrated from his brithpride, and he hadn't found it terribly important to honor the old ways when he came to a new pride. His mother knew just about everything about every celebration, so if he wanted to know anything about Sikukku he could always ask her.

---

Vappu gave the other cheetah a shoulder bump, as she walked up beside her. She could see that Viiva looked a bit nervous and hoped she'd feel better sandwiched between Queen Ester and Vappu.

"Cheer up," she said, "It's our season after all. I'm sure that's bound to be a good sign."

Vappu enjoyed meeting new people and didn't mind a crowd so this celebration looked truly promising from her perspective.
