Once the wings went for the shoulders, Lilipup's balance was compromised as well as her ability to react to what Ling was doing or going to do next. That meant that Iris and Ling had a new opening to attack from. "Ling use Water..no wait... Use Wing Attack instead." Iris changed her mind midway through her sentence. She thought using a Water pulse attack but decided to herself that a physical attack would be a good way to end the battle. Especially since Ling was already in a position to use the move anyway. Iris wanted to see another way to make use of the wing attack.

Ling was getting ready to use Water Pulse when Iris directed her to use Wing attack instead. Since Lilipup was already swept under her feet, the next course of action was to seal the deal and end the battle in the Ling would end it. Using her wings, Ling made the Lilpup tumble after falling the first time.Her wing swiped at the pokemon. Ling brought her wings up and then brought them down on Lilpup, creating dust around herself and the pokemon. When the dust was clearing; Ling was still standing. Panting but still on her feet. Meanwhile, the other pokemon, Lilipup was on the ground with her eyes spinning around in a dizzy circle as she made no effort anymore. Iris could hear the puppuy bark before giving off a whine.

Iris stood there as the implications of this would mean. Lilipup didn't look like she was ready to battle anyone but Ling was and still way..Iris looked at Ling as Iris continued to look around more. "Did we.... did we just win?" Iris seem to be asking her pokemon that question.

As Lillipup charged at Ling she got nailed with a wing attack. “Lillipup!” Maria shouted. She hated seeing her Pokémon get hurt. “Espurr!” (Lillipup!) The psychic type shouted as in unison with his trainer. The puppy Pokémon had nowhere to go and with little energy left, she wasn’t quick enough on her feet to dodge the barrage of wing attacks. “Pup!” (Oh no!) She barked out in alarm as dust picked up around them.

Maria waited for the dust to clear, her breath on hold. The more she waited the more she worried about Lillipup’s wellbeing. As the dust cleared the brunette saw Ling still standing. Suddenly a whine rang out as Lillipup collapsed to the ground, her eyes a daze in a state of unconsciousness. “Lillipup!” Maria called out as the announcer declared Iris and Ling the winners. Running over to her Pokémon the Flygon pulled her into her arms. Espurr quickly following after his trainer, equally as concerned for his friend.

“Lil…” (We…) Lillipup went to talk but Maria shook her head. “It doesn’t matter Lillipup, you did great. Take a good rest, you deserve it.” She told her pulling out the pup’s pokéball before returning the normal type. Getting up, Maria picked up Espurr before going over to Ling and Iris. “You guys were great. Congratulations.” She said to her roommate and friend. If she had to lose to anyone she couldn’t think of a better person.
