It’s Man eat Dog
Man versus Beast
The strong will survive
I’ve got no time for the weak.

Catching the scent of something, Grym grunted softly to warn Bjorn, just as they got far enough down the tunnel for Bjorn to tap the huge bear on the flank as he saw the creature. It was huge. Larger than Grym, even, by a decent margin. The two ursine brothers closed in on the huge creature slowly when they saw its ear twitch in their direction. Seeing the huge thing start to stir, Bjorn and Grym slunk against the walls of the cavern as best they could as they continued to get within striking distance of the thing. Pulling a kunai from his pouch, Bjorn would crouch down as he crept closer before he launched up and forward and tried to plunge the kunai into the throat of the huge beast as Grym waited to back up his partner.

JSJF: Principle: Move first then Block

Description: It doesnt take a medical ninja specializing in brain surgery to know that a moving target is more difficult to to hit then a still target. By practicing always moving, especially right before they block, the user allows their movements to become slightly more difficult to pin down. By moving with the direction of the attack, the user can even lessen the impact force, making their defenses easier to perform. When engaging a physical force that will defeat their same rank defense (ie: berserker discipline, weapon specialist discipline, sage mode) the user may expend the additional half-rank stamina to allow the defense, of this style, to work. If you possess one of the above disciplines, then you may only do this for the style you do not receive an increase for.

JSJF: Principle: Circles and Angles

Description: The user, through a little combative understanding and sheer combative need, begins to understand the idea of moving and attacking on circles and angles. This way, they are able to circularly avoid attacks and danger, or simply slip off the angle off attack their opponent uses. When faced with a taijutsu and non-projectile based bukjutsu technique of D rank of lower, the user can simply expend that rank of stamina to augment a given technique of this style to perform a fast shift and dodge to avoid the technique. When faced with a taijutsu and non-projectile based bukjutsu technique of C rank or lower, the use can expand that rank of stamina to count as a defensive activation to perform a fast shift and dodge to avoid the technique. If used during a combination, this counts as one of the techniques.

JSJF: Principle: Sticking and Tracking

Description: When in the jungle, gaining control of your opponent is crucial. The longer the battle continues, the longer it has the chance of continuing. If you cant see your opponent, then you cant fight the opponent. The user must train to utilize their body as a form of sensory unit gaining a sensitivity to feeling pressure and movement as they attach to their opponent. By attempting to obtain constant contact with the opponent, with multiple points of attachment, the user is better able to combat a single opponent by transitioning from technique to technique while staying attached to the opponent. When attached to a given limb prior to the opponents attack using said limb, the user may use a single defensive technique and pay half the stamina cost to defend it/parry it/avoid it. This counts as a single offensive activation.

JSJF: Principle: There is Never an Idle limb

Description: In the jungle, combat is hectic, ferocious, and often brutal. To maximize their survivability, masters of Jing Shen Jie Fang utilize the principle of constant motion with all of their limbs, all the time and not get hung up in one action. By focusing on this principle, the user understands that by utilizing all their limbs during offense, as well as defense, that they can become an overwhelming force, like the roots of the jungle trees that smoother the ground. The user can now use their legs instead of their hands or weapons to defend an attack and perform combinations by using the stage 1 directions to defend the torso and lower body, leaving their hands free to engage and the attacker.

JSJF: Principle: Block off the back, Attack with the Front

Description: The ability to reach out and touch your enemy while not having them touch you has been the very defining thing of modern combat. By effective understanding of range, its variety, and constant flux, the user begins to change their offensive and defensive structure to block/parry with the rear weapon and attack with the front weapon. With no change in power, it can greatly increase the effectiveness of the user, allowing them to possibly land more strikes and attacks by distance alone.

JSJF: Principle: Whipping and Swimming the Arms

Description: When combat occurs in the close quarters, and confined and chaotic location like the jungle, then the user needs to be able to move themselves effectively to make sure they are not surrounded or flanked by multiple opponents or a single opponent getting a lucky shot. By whipping and swimming their arms and limbs, the user can transition from outside to inside of the opponent, offering different angles and attacking opportunities while limiting the opponents options. This can also allow the user to slightly manipulate their opponent with defensive and parry techniques to make multiple opponents block each other, or risk hitting each other instead of the user.

JSJF: Jungle Roots: Footing and Stability increased
JSJF: Panther’s Pounce: Mundane Mobility Increased
JSJF: Hunter’s Instincts: Human targets learned
JSJF: Tatau: Mark of the Tiger:
The tiger is the king of the jungle, using powerful claws and mass to dominate and control anything in its way. The basic techniques from stage 1 can now be trained up to S rank, and can be used as takedowns (usually when using opposite direction combinations) if the user so desires.

KoFaS: Reflexes supremely increased

A large roar would be heard from the creature as movement grew around it in the cavern. The beast would shift it's head and buck back it's horns into the Kunai, meeting it with sheer force and pushing the large man back several feet. Coming to stand, it would kick one of it's clawed feet out in the direction of Grym, an ear pointed towards each of the combatants as it stood. The initial kickback to Grym would be as evenly matched in strength as if the strongest of the New Genin had thrown a punch at the bear, but the mass of its claw would be enough to reel the bear back a few feet if it did not act in response.

As the beast gained its full composure, Bjorn would see that his kunai had left a large gash along the edge of it's horn and that it was leaning the other side more towards him now, as if it knew that it had been injured on the bone protrusion.

S+ Ranked Defense Versus Bjorn's Plunging attack.
B Ranked Kick thrown towards Bjorn with enough force to move him 8 feet backwards on impact.

She smiled as she grabbed one of the cooked steaks and began to eat it. The lean meat began to practically give way to her teeth without her putting any force behind her bites. She moaned as the steak tasted odd however it was indeed delicious. Swallowing the first bite she corrected the old man. "I'm far from a city folk." She said eating another piece and began to think about how to spin this web of hers. "I'm one of Hotaru's double agents." she said as matter of factually. She began to utilize every bit of charisma that she held to spin this tale of hers. "I was forced to fight with a few of the members earlier and now I need to find out how they're doing. They weren't supposed to be so careless with the package" She quickly finished the steak and spoke once more. "Do you know where I can find Hotaru or the next biggest fish so I can be debriefed? It's been a while after all."

The man sitting beside her flinched as she talked about being a double agent, so openly, but he didn't move away from her, but remained in his seat. He was shaking, fearful, upset, but mostly his outlook shown cowardice. The man by the carcasses took a step back into the dark of the cave and the sound of other fabric being patted could be heard.

"Well, miss. We dun' mean no trouble by bein' in your caves. We just been lookin' for shelter. We can lea' now, if you'll let us. We won' tell the Kage or anyone about what you folk been doin' in the upper caverns. Don' do us like you did Satoshi and Ami. We gone if you let us." The man said in all but a whimper as his fellows began gathering up bags made from animal pelts and tarps, moving towards the breeze that flowed into the cavern.

"Naught woul' miss me if'n you were ta kill me, miss. But wha' man faces death li' that with dignity. You folks've killed our dogs, our friends, and chasen us off wi' flames an' lightnin' once already. Let me go, peaceful like?"

Getting thrown back by the bucking animal, Bjorn flew and crashed into the wall of the cavern before bouncing off and landing back on his feet. Grym had come around behind the thing just as it kicked at him. The huge bear would suddenly launch into the air, over the creature’s kicking leg, and flew at the beast. Grym would attempt to his the beast either broadside or in the flank and start to claw into the beast. Grym would, on contact, begin to slash and bite at its side, attempting to rip open its side.

On the other side of the beast, Bjorn would burst forward again, timing it with the attack from his partner so that the beast would be distracted. Bjorn would duck sideways before lunching up for the creature’s throat, attempting to grab for it and sink his two inch claws into it as he’d swing around to its back and swing a hard hammer-fist into the base of its skull, trying to break the bones and damage the nerves within.

As the great bear rushed and collided with the beast in an attempt to gore it, it would be deflected by the beast's hide and virtue alone. Feeling the beast collide with it's side, however, the Mountain Stalker would lower its head and twist it's body, swinging the remaining horn for Grym's side. The timing in this would not be enough to prevent Bjorn from getting his claws into the creature's body, but it would still twist and deliver a full force, now weighted further by Bjorn's movement, slam into the bear, aiming to send it careening outside of the cavern.

The beast called out in pain, all the while, however; the pain of Bjorn's claws digging in. When he managed to claw his way around for the hammer stroke, the beast would be turning, the rotational force enough to send Bjorn out of the cavern as well, despite landing his blow.

The beast itself would let out a hollow groan as it collapsed to the ground, attempting to get back to its feet while it had its attackers at bay.

[ A-ranked Headbutt delivered with the remaining horn to Grym's chest, using the rotational force to send both combatants out into the forest again.

Creature has a Natural Defense rating of A, thus why Grym's actions did not do more than disturb the beast.

No defense versus clawing and hammer fist attacks, but you feel through your blow that the beast has incredibly thick skin and a very had skull. To your best discretion, you may believe you concussed the beast. ]

Grym would crash into the huge beast and be shocked ot find that he couldn’t tear into its hide. Next thing the big bear knew, he had been hit hard in the chest and was flying through the air, landing outside the cave a few seconds later. Shaking himself off, Grym would get back to his feet and think a moment before charging back in. Bjorn would feel his claws sink into the monster’s throat and rip through as he swung around, though he’d note that the ting had extremely thick skin. As he cracked it in the skull, he’d find himself flying towards the opening of the cavern as well, landing back on his feet and dragging his claws through the rocky floor to slow himself quickly. Looking back into the cavern, he saw the beast stumble slightly and collapse with a groan as it struggled to regain its footing.

Thinking for a moment, Bjorn would look to Gym and growl out in a series of frunts and growls “You take range and mess with its system, I’ll get in close and keep ripping..” Grym would grunt in understanding as the brothers would run back into the cavern. Grym would stop just inside and his ears would begin to twitch, causing the air pressure in the cavern to plummet. The monster would suddenly feel even sleepier than it probably already did, it might even begin to suffer from nitrogen expansion in its blood and possibly stigmata as Bjorn finished closing distance with the massive, dazed creature. Coating his upper body with his black steel armor, Bjorn would angle off to the side of the huge beast’s head before cutting back towards it. Stacking his steel-coated fingers and claws over each other to brace them, Bjorn dropped into a low crouch before bursting up and into the beast’s neck again, attempting to knock the thing up into the air slightly as he speared through its thick hide at its throat at an angle. Coming off of that strike, Bjorn would shift his stance down the creature’s neck and burst forward, taking his entire body weight behind another spear-hand strike at the beasts chest cavity, aiming to take out ideally its heart, or at least a lung.

The Mountain Stalker roared, its breathing labored and its head hanging low. It knew it was at its end and lowered its horn into the path of the strike. The second horn shattered and the beast took the blow, careening it back into the low cave wall. It shuddered a heavy breath and oddly coloured blood could be seen on its muzzle as it adjusted itself and lay down. Rubbing the broken remains of its horn against the cave floor.

Even though the great bear had cast the low pressure technique, the beast still seemed to breath normally, albeit laboured by the blood that it coughed up. The sound of scratching on the cavern floor continued until the beast stopped moving altogether. And a series of howls could be heard nearby. Grym would feel a strong attraction to the scent on the cave floor from the beast's horn. The sound of panting and growling grew more and more from the rear of the cavern and a low rumble sounded from higher up in the cavern. Something was causing the cliffs to shake, and something else was seeking a warm meal.

Bjorn would pull his hand from the beast’s throat and chest, watching it cough up it’s strange looking blood as it scraped it’s horn across the floor of the cavern. Deeper in the cave, Bjorn could hear growls and the odd howl and Grym would growl at him, “Brother, something about that creature’s horn… I feel like I’m …. Drawn to it…. “ The large bear would walk deeper into the cave, towards where the massive beast had scraped its horn on the floor. “Something else is coming…… get ready” Bjorn would say quickly to Grym, as the pair jumped to be back to back as they listened to the growling and panting coming from all around. In the cavern, it was kind of hard to tell exactly how many there were, but they wanted to be as ready as they could, and as usual, prevent a sneak attack. From behind.

As Bjorn and Grym prepared for combat and stood back to back, the nagging feeling could continue from where the beast had rubbed its horns into the ground. And at first, neither of the brothers would catch the scent of anything, though the sounds and the growling would continue to sound. As the brothers closed in closer to each other, they would both see at least two pairs of floating red eyes, staring at them, growling and snapping sounds would ensue.

To Bjorn's side a lone grey wolf would appear, its fur matted and knotted in places, its teeth yellowed and its expression fierce, leaping through the air to attack him. As it did so, the scent of the wolf would flood the area around them, finally catching the wind that blew into the cavern.

She rolled her eyes briefly and played the part of one of Hotaru's men. "Oh please," She began as she stretched a bit after eating of the wolf. "You don't need to do a damn thing other than have someone lead me to where Hotaru's men are in these caves. Then I can gaurantee you safe passage from Hotaru and his men. I'll make up some story about how you aided me and you'll be on his good side or something. Just help me find their camp before I grow impatient." She said as she was truly growing to be thus.

"But Miss, I don' know where this person is... All I know is that yer people were in the upper caverns. I c'n tell yeh what path ta take, but let me an' mine leave, please?" He asked as he began to shuffle his stuff together, hoping she would let them go once he set her on the right path.

Though an odd howling would be heard from the cavern the others had exited from. Followed soon by panicked screams, as the two who had tried to leave earlier came under the scrutiny of that which was howling. He old man knelt low and his eyes came unto those of Nariko.

"That howl, those growls. Those are the Ghosts of the Forest, they vicious beasts, we managed ta kill one, it's the beast you ate earlier with me... My son and Harlan, are undoubtedly dead now. But, if you can get me past them, I c'n show ya the way to the other folk in the cliffs." He said with a sigh as he grabbed his walking stick.

The growling would grow louder as the beasts came down the corridor, and soon a single pair of red eyes would be visible. The body of the creature, while its growling could be heard, seemed like nothing more than shadows and whisps of smoke floating behind a grey frame.

It’s Man eat Dog
Man versus Beast
The strong will survive
I’ve got no time for the weak.

Getting into their defensive position, Bjorn and Grym would growl to each other as they noticed the floating red eyes to their side in the cave as the growling and snarling seems to be all around between however many there were and the echoing in the cave. Bjorn then noticed the more solid looking wolf a short distance away. Seeing the wolf lunge at him, trying to bite, Bjorn would wait until it was within his reach before moving. He’d circle step and swing his large arm out, catching the back of the wolf’s neck, and redirect the beast’s lunge towards the ground, adding his strength to speed it up and plant its head into the ground. As soon as the wolf would hit the floor of the cavern, Bjorn would tighten his grip on its neck, lift its head up a little and lay a hard hook into the side of its head, aiming to simply break its neck or crush its skull to end it quickly and possibly show the other things around them that he and Grym weren’t to be trifled with as he blasted through it and stared around at the floating red eyes with a serious look on his face.

It's time to rise up, man up, get back up, never been and won't be broken
Dust off and then come back for more
You've gotta reach down, dig deep, and break ground,
Show them all you won't be beaten

She sighed softly as she was already tired of these people. They were so weak willed that they couldn't even muster the courage to just tell her in depth their location. Rolling her eyes she would eventually stand up and look to the man. "Muster some courage and dignity would you?" She asked of him with a cold and acidic edge to her voice. Then as she was about to speak some more she heard the sounds of screams and howls coming from the corridor. As her feline like eyes laid upon the crimson eyes of the wolf she cracked her neck. "Stay behind me at all times. Do not get in my way or I'll kill you." She said as she stretched her shoulders a bit before the fight. She waited to see what the wolf would do before she did anything else.

The first wolf was caught, its body still corporeal, and forced face first into the ground. Unable to close it's snarling maw in time, it would be burst open upon the ground of the cavern, blood spurting forth that covered the wall and across the pelt of the already slain beast. It attempted to growl its frustration, but was soon lifted and launched by another hook from the beast of a man, throwing it ragged into the wall, its neck taking the brunt of the force once more, coupled with the bloodloss, lead to it's succumbing to its wounds and laying upon the other beast, dead.

Four others encircled the man, for only brief moments would he catch a scent of any of them. The chain of actions would be that the beast would call with a ravenous snarl, its scents would flood the room, then disappear. This happened several times in conjunction, each time a beast called at the feral man and his beast. Yet never remained for more than a moment or two. One of the pairs of glowing eyes would approach him directly, but no scent came from it as it approached.

As it approached a sudden feeling and sound of a low growl would come over Bjorn, and he would feel himself beginning to weaken, slowly at first. As if his chakra was being slowly sapped from his body, and with every step the beast took, it felt worse.

One confirmed kill, but a 20pt Chakra drain enacts this turn.

The single pair of floating eyes would begin to approach Nariko, shadows and flickers skating off of its body as it walked in the shadows around the edge of the fire, only it's 'paws' setting, momentarily, in the light of the flames. Gaining proximity to her and the man, she would hear the sound of the man fainting, a brief flare of the old man's chakra presence signalling that he was nearing death from chakra over-exertion, or perhaps from having it sapped of him.

As the beast got within ten feet of the young Hatake, she would feel the effects that washed over the man. Undoubtedly tapered from her ability to control her chakra and meld it efficiently, but still, the drain was there, and the creature before her seemed to be the cause as it grew stronger the closer it got.

Another set of eyes appeared at the exit of the corridor, as red as the first, but the body of this beast seemed to be physical, and it panted, its muzzle coated in blood, blood which could only be assumed to be of the others who tried to escape.

The Wolf of Asgard
The beast only approaches, and as it approaches, a 20pt Chakra drain goes into effect, the first points coming off during your next post.
