☆ ☆【 Chrysa grinned widely as Roxas chuckled and was glad to agree on her help to install a compartment into her Porygon Z, at least that was what she was getting from it… Nevertheless, it had provided a rather welcome distraction from the blonde’s increasing annoyance towards Bastien, if only for a few seconds… The moment was dispelled as the green-haired boy continued to act stubborn to a fairly unnecessary degree, and even though Chrysa felt that she couldn’t blame him that much for it, she still felt that he was being fairly hypocritical about the whole thing. Roxas, on the other hand, wasn’t about to let it slide that easily as she forced Bastien to stop, turn around, and face her as she started ranting at him. Chrysa tried to get Roxas to calm down and just let it go, but her words fell on deaf ears as the woman continued to read Bastien the riot act. The green-haired young man seemed a bit guilty for it, though, knowing that he could have just thanked them for their help instead of launching into a stubborn display in hopes to preserve his pride. However, when Roxas went on about bodily functions, Bastien seemed to be caught completely off guard as he looked at her with a dumbfounded expression, Chrysa quirking an eyebrow in interest. Did that mean that Roxas couldn’t feel pain? She recalled reading up on some sort of medical condition that messed up a person’s nerves, making it so that they couldn’t feel pain. She couldn’t remember the actual medical term that they had for it, but while it could have its possible perks, it really wasn’t the greatest thing to have either. Because if one couldn’t feel pain, then they wouldn’t notice if they had broken a bone or mangled a limb or done some major damage to their body that couldn’t be fixed.
Roxas seemed like she was prepared to give Bastien yet another earful, but was distracted when she noticed her bloodied and bruised knuckles. Chrysa couldn’t help but wince a bit, wondering what on earth the blonde woman had been doing to get her hand all bent out of shape like that, though she figured she wouldn’t question it as Roxas asked her if she had anymore antiseptic and gauze left in her med-kit. The redhead confirmed that she did, retrieving the kit once again while Bastien made a show of sympathy at the blonde’s injury. Once Roxas obediently gave her the hurt hand to look at, Chrysa examining the wounded area carefully while Bastien asked her if she really couldn’t feel the pain from her injury. Chrysa listened as Roxas described the feeling as being itchy and tingly, but nothing else, though she wasn’t too pleased when Bastien poked her as if to test out if she really couldn’t feel anything. The blonde growled at him in response, elaborating that she couldn’t feel pain, so she could still feel it when he poked her and that she wasn’t some strange bug Pokemon for him to jab at for his own amusement. Of course, soon enough more of the strangely colored Pokemon that they had been running into in this cave for some reason popped up, Bastien quickly taking care of them as Chrysa finished up with patching up Roxas’ hand. Putting away the med-kit, the redhead watched as Roxas carefully flexed her hand and examined her handiwork before nodding in approval and thanking her. ” No prob, Rox, anytime~” she said with a grin, assessing the damage and that the woman’s hand would surely heal well within a day or two. And right on cue, it wasn’t long before more Pokemon started showing up, Chrysa dealing with a Buneary and a Chansey on her end with Ryouichi while Roxas and Bastien took care of their own battalions.
After that minor fiasco, Roxas made a comment about the circus dumping their clowns here, to which Chrysa was glad to agree with as she suggested that they get out of here before more of them started showing up. Bastien said something about the Whimsicott that had given him and Roxas trouble earlier was the ringleader behind it all, and that they were quite tenacious for how cute they were. ” Heh, ya can say that again, Bass,” Chrysa chuckled with a wry smile, watching as he sent out a new Pokemon, his Skarmory named Ramsy, to dispatch another Buneary. Nevertheless, Roxas agreed on the sentiment that they should get out of here since more of the oddly colored bandits would surely follow to avenge their fallen comrades. Bastien spoke up, saying that he might stay in the cave a while since these Pokemon would be great training before they went up against Grant, apparently having forgotten what had gone on just a few minutes ago. Chrysa figured that it was for the best, especially since she didn’t want the already growing tensions between Bass and Roxas to get too out of hand. Roxas, on the other hand, certainly seemed like the type to hold a grudge as she muttered something under her breath and kept walking on. ” Yeeeaaah, I think I’m with Rox on this one, Bass,” Chrysa said with a nod, starting to roll onwards to follow after the blonde. However, not even five seconds after she started moving, they were set upon once again by more members of the Rainbow Bright Brigade as a Whimsicott, another Buneary, and another Floette jumped out from behind a formation of stalagmites at them. ” Haha! So my companion wasn’t able to foot the bill, hm? Well you humans better be prepared for the worst, because my elite squadron and I will wipe the floor with ALL of you before- ACK!!” the Whimsicott didn’t even get the chance to finish his epic monologue before he was interrupted by an Icy Wind from Ryouichi, which effectively knocked him out well and good. The Floette and Buneary soon followed, Ryouichi beating down the rabbit while only taking minor damage from the Pound attack it tried to throw at him last minute, and Amaterasu even joined in on the action as she easily took the Floette with a Gunk Shot.
” Haha! Another score for the A-Team~” Amaterasu yipped happily as she bounced about, quite proud of the victory as she puffed her chest out like a soldier. Regina couldn’t help but grin at that, even though she hadn’t participated much in the battles, she could see that Ryouichi and Amaterasu were proving themselves to be quite the admirable fighters. ” A-Ah… you aren’t mad that we’re beating up your own kind, are you Senpai?” the Fennekin asked curiously, pausing in her little victory dance to look at the fainted Bunearies before gazing towards Regina with a concerned look. Knowing that Lopunny was essentially an evolution, Ammy hoped that the Mega wouldn’t mind it too much. ” Ohhh, I really can’t say I’m too upset about it, sweetie,” Regina answered with a sweet smile and a shrug, ” While I wouldn’t usually approve of it, considering that these bad bunnies have turned to thievery I suppose I’ll make an exception. As a virtuoso of justice myself, I highly disapprove of such criminal activity. So batter away to your heart’s content, darlings~” Ryouichi rolled his eyes and snorted, as if he needed permission from Regina to fight those annoying little bunnies.
” Heyyyy, guys! Look what I found!” Amaterasu yipped happily, padding over to the fainted Whimsicott and grabbing a little bag that it had been holding onto. Surely it was full of goods that these thieving rogues had collected! Chrysa smiled, bending down and accepting the goodie bag from the Fennekin, opening it up to find a miniature treasure trove inside. Chocolate hearts, a Big Mushroom, and even some Sitrus berries! ” Awesome! Nice find, Ammy~” the redhead praised, patting the little fox on the head as she stowed the items away in her bag, ” Still, I wonder just how much these little rascals have stolen until we came along…”
She felt that she couldn’t simply take these things out of good conscience, but at the same time they could be of great help, especially when it came time for them to face off against Grant. Nonetheless, Chrysa didn’t have a lot of time to think on it right now, and she looked up as she heard Roxas calling out for her and Bastien to see if they were coming or what. ” Heh, right behind ya, Rox!” the redhead replied, chuckling softly as she and her Pokemon moved onwards to catch up with Roxas, ” Don’t fall too far behind, Bass~” With how strong her Pokemon were progressively getting, they just might be ready to take on Grant as soon as they got to Cyllage! Of course, it might be worth it to train for just a bit longer before then… Catching up with the blonde woman, Chrysa flashed a grin to her. ” So how ‘bout it, Rox? What would ya say to the three of us having ourselves a little ‘contest’ of sorts when we get to Cyllage, see who’s gonna take on Grant first?” she asked curiously with a chuckle. The redhead had always been one to favor a bit of a challenge, and she figured that since the three of them were aiming to fight Grant soon after they got to Cyllage, maybe they could mix it up a little with some friendly competition. Of course, she wouldn’t be too disappointed if Bastien or Roxas said otherwise, but she was just taking the opportunity to make things a bit more interesting if they were up for it. 】☆ ☆

Roxas, to no one but Bastien's great surprise, was annoyed by his poking. The young man pulled his hand back with an apologetic look on his face, not having wanted to make things any worse than they already were. "I-I knew that! I mean, I figured, but I was just testing!" As the blonde thanked Chrysa, Bastien turned away. There were other Pokemon to deal with in their vicinity, each of them attacking in order to defend their treasures. One by one though, they were driven away by Chrysa, Roxas, and Bastien's own Pokemon. Bastien seemed happy to stay and train a little, but his companions didn't share his point of view. Roxas muttered something and sulked past him, and Chrysa seemed to agree with moving on. That was fine! It'd leave the rest of those rainbow-colored rascals to Bastien and his Pokemon. Plus, they could get their hands on whatever treasures were left... Snickering, the green-haired boy rubbed his hands together and grinned deviously. "Yeah, no worries! I'm right behind you guys!"

Ha... Like Venomoths to flame, new and old Pokemon alike began to surround Bastien once more. "...Aaaaand by right behind you, I mean steadily surpassing you with all this training we're doing!" The Spritzee from earlier, obviously not too happy about being brushed off so easily, was attacking along with several others. Three more Bunearys, a Mareep, and an Exeggcute. "Hmm? Y'think you'll be able to take us on?" Posing like he'd done during his battle with Viola, Bastien goofed off a little before tossing out Sawa's pokeball. "That's too bad. Sawa, test out your new move!"

"On it!" With his eyes blazing passionately, Sawa held a hand to his chest. Several chunks of rock ripped up from the ground and began floating around him, the Tyrogue apparently controlling them somehow. The orange glow surrounding the rocks grew brighter then, and as soon as Sawa moved, they each shot out, one chunk for each of their attackers. Those that didn't run for cover found themselves battered by the rocks, reeling backwards from Sawa's telekinetic assault. With the threat having been dispatched almost instantly, Bastien and the others stared befuddled at the scene in front of them.

"...I-I was just foolin' around when I said to show off your new move, but... How did you learn something like that, Sawa?" Sawa's trainer pointed a sheepish finger at the fight's aftermath. Bita and Ramsy looked at each other for a moment before, looking at Sawa with their mouths wide open. Sawa simply beamed and folded his arms in front of him, raising his head high. With that out of the way, Bastien did realize that they shouldn't dawdle for too long, lest they actually get left behind by Roxas and Chrysa. Bastien knew for sure that Roxas wouldn't wait... Turning quickly, he and his Pokemon sped up to regroup with their companions. "Ha... Ha... No, seriously! Totally right behind you!" He'd caught something about some sort of competition... Come to think of it, Chrysa mentioned that earlier, as well. "Hey, Chrysa, what's this about a competition? Do you mean, like... A race? Or a battle?" Bastien thought hard for a moment. "I'd never turn down a challenge of course, but with three people, what kind of challenge could we do?"

☆ ☆【 Chrysa couldn’t help but chuckle softly under her breath as Bastien, taking a hint when Roxas got annoyed by his poking, swearing that he had figured that and that he was only testing. The blonde glared at him, but nothing more was said, Roxas clearly wanting to just get out of the cave as much as Chrysa did. Caves were never really the kinds of places that the redhead liked to hang out in for too long, and even if these strangely-colored Pokemon who kept coming after them were indeed good training, Chrysa just wanted out of here as soon as remotely possible. She was all too happy to follow Roxas’s lead as they started heading towards what she hoped was the cave exit, sticking close to the blonde since she wouldn’t have any other idea of where to go otherwise. She could hear Bastien snickering to himself behind them, saying that he was right behind them when he clearly wasn’t even following. Chrysa chuckled to herself and rolled her eyes as he added on to his previous statement, saying that when he’d meant he’d be right behind them he meant that he would be steadily surpassing them with his training. ” It’s not a race, ya know~” she called back with a grin, continuing to follow after Roxas with her Pokemon keeping close by. Regina kept on alert for anymore of those rainbow-colored thieves that were still lurking in the shadows, and Amaterasu and Ryouichi remained ready in the event that they needed to get in on some action. Roxas returned her Phione, Fennekin, and Golett to their Pokeballs, though Chrysa kept hers out intentionally, figuring it would be best to stay on the safe side in case more of those strange Pokemon came at them again.
Sure enough, not even minutes later, Chrysa and Roxas were set upon once again by more of the strangely-colored Pokemon. Roxas sent out Siren to combat the Chansey, Whimsicott, and Exeggcute, while Chrysa dealt with the Buneary, Floette, and her own Whimsicott. Of course, they proved to be no match for the combined strength of Ryouichi’s Icy Wind and Amaterasu’s Gunk Shot, the two of them taking down the terrible trifecta seamlessly and effortlessly. ” Great job, both of ya! Yeesh, ya two are getting all kinds of powerful, and it wasn’t even that long ago when I got ya from the good Professor~” Chrysa praised with a smile, quite impressed by how much the two of them had grown so far, ” We’ll be able to take down Grant in no time when it comes time for us to battle him~” Ryouichi smirked and nodded in response, feeling quite confident that he would prove a worthy opponent in the upcoming Gym battle. Amaterasu yipped happily and wagged her tail, soaking up the praise and loving the support that Chrysa was giving them. ” Here, Ammy, I think we should get some training in for ya as well, I’ll give these snazzy Safety Goggles to Piper. Take this,” she said, reaching out and gently pulling the goggles off of Amaterasu’s head and stowing them away in her bag. She then took out the Lucky Egg they had gotten from the Floette earlier, handing it to the Fennekin in exchange. Amaterasu gladly accepted the smooth, bright blue egg, holding it with her tail since it was the most sensible thing for her to do, while Chrysa used her Pokedex to transfer the stowed away Safety Goggles to Piper. She figured that the Noivern could make better use of them than anyone else, though she would need to figure out just what it was those goggles did exactly.
However, it wasn’t long before yet another trio of brightly-colored Pokemon came charging at them from among the rock formations, another Floette accompanied by an Exeggcute and a Spritzee of all things. ” I got this one!” the Fennekin barked out, feeling that she was ready to face these three by herself. Turning towards them, she struck a dynamic battle position, opened her jaws wide, and blasted a torrent of violet slime in their direction. Upon realizing that they had really underestimated their quarry, the trio attempted to turn tail and run away, but couldn’t escape in time as the goo overtook them in mere seconds. The fainted Pokemon were sent flying back towards the rocks that they had popped out from, hopefully never to be seen again until Chrysa and her friends could get out of here. ” Yeesh, Ammy, that Gunk Shot is way too powerful! You took those guys down without even getting a scratch!” the redhead commented with a laugh, ” You’re really becoming quite the lethal weapon!” Amaterasu grinned widely, wagging her tail as she turned around and struck a proud pose. ” Hehe, yeah! I’m a lean mean slime-flinging machine!” she barked out cheerfully, her grin fading away into a look of wonder when she noticed that she was starting to glow. Chrysa, Ryouichi, and Regina shielded their eyes as the light surrounding Amaterasu grew brighter and brighter until it was nearly blinding, the Fennekin felt a strange sensation come over her as she felt her form starting to change. When the light faded, Amaterasu stood quite a bit taller than she used to, literally at that. Her evolution had granted her a new bipedal form, along with a thicker, bushier tail and longer ear tufts, even a twig that was stuck among the fur of her changed tail. ” Ammy, ya evolved!” Chrysa breathed in awe, taking in Amaterasu’s new form as she scanned the information in her Pokedex, ” So this is what Braixen looks like, huh? Not bad, not bad at all~”
Amaterasu grinned, spinning joyfully on her new legs as she reveled in her newly evolved form. ” Oh wow~ So that’s what it’s like to evolve! This is awesome!!” she cheered, bouncing up and down excitedly, her grin widening as she looked towards Ryouichi, ” Hey Ryou, I’m much taller than you are now~” The Frogadier rolled his eyes in response, smirking a little. ” Only by a foot, technically,” he pointed out in a matter-of-fact tone, not really minding the fact that she was still taller than he was. Size didn’t matter that much when it came to battling, strategy was where it’s at. ” Well, all things aside, you’re clearly well on your way to growing stronger, Ammy~ Congratulations on evolving, dearie~” Regina cut in with a sweet smile, clapping her hands as a congratulatory fanfare to add in to the mix. Chrysa smiled as she watched her Pokemon talk with each other, congratulating Amaterasu on her evolution in their own ways. However, she couldn’t help but notice that the temperature of the cave seemed to have dropped quite a bit from what she last recalled as she felt a faint cold breeze brush past her. ” Yeesh… when did it get chilly in here all of the sudden? It wasn’t this cold before, was it…?” she thought to herself, glancing around curiously. She figured that maybe it was cold because of Siren’s Blizzard attack that the Milotic had used earlier, maybe she had just been so wrapped up in other things that she hadn’t even noticed at first… She shivered slightly as she felt a cold, gentle breeze ruffle her hair, followed by what she could swear was faint, childish giggling from somewhere close by. ” Who’s there?” she called out, wondering if maybe it was another one of those oddly colored Pokemon coming in for another ambush. No response… though she felt another gust blow through her red locks, followed by more giggling, coming from a different direction this time.
Her Pokemon noticed it too, Ryouichi’s eyes darting around the vicinity of their surroundings while Amaterasu and Regina kept their ears open for more of the laughing they were hearing. ” You guys see anything?” Chrysa asked as she looked to her Pokemon, wondering just what was going on. Ryouichi had a sense of where the laughter was coming from, though he kept his eyes peeled for any movement. There! He could see a little white head poking out from behind a nearby stalagmite to look at them, and within a fraction of a second it was gone again as more giggling ensued. Wasting no time, the Frogadier leapt high into the air, pouncing behind the rocks to flush out their mysterious observer. An excited squeal echoed from the rock formation as Ryouichi caught a better look of what it was, a strange feline creature that looked like a snow leopard cub, surrounded by a small cloud of what looked like snowflakes.
The cub grinned at him, giggling eagerly as it waved its tail happily. ” Heeheee~ You found me! Now you gotta catch me!” it said cheerfully with a wink, and before Ryouichi could blink, the creature bounded off, the form of the snow leopard cub dissipating seemingly into thin air. The Frogadier could still see the snowflakes that seemed to follow it around like bees to honey, and began to give chase. Regina and Amaterasu didn’t have time to react as they felt a rush of air as if something just ran past them, followed by a miniature blast of snowflakes as the creature weaved its way around. Giggling excitedly, the ghostly cub leapt up into Chrysa’s lap, its form slowly materializing once again as it slowed down before stopping entirely. ” Heheee~ Gotta try harder than that if you wanna catch me!” it taunted playfully, feeling that it was safer now that it was on slightly higher ground as it looked towards Chrysa and grinned widely at her, ” Hi there~ I’ve never seen you around here before! Are you new? What’s your name?” Chrysa blinked in surprise and shock as she took in the sights of the strange creature that was now in her lap for some reason. It looked like a snow leopard cub, though there was something strange and… different about it… Maybe it was the pale blue eyes that seemed to give off a faint, ghostly glow, the ghastly transparency of the creature’s form as it seemed like it was almost about to fade, or the perpetual cloud of snowflakes that seemed to accompany it at all times… Was this thing a Pokemon? If it was, she had never recalled seeing anything like it before. ” Ah, hello! I, uh, I guess I am new here, I mean, I’m sure I’ve never explored this cave before in my life until now…” she finally responded when she focused back on the matter at hand, smiling amiably towards the little creature, ” I’m Chrysanthemum, but you can just call me Chrysa for short~ What exactly are you? I don’t think I’ve seen a Pokemon quite like you before…” The ghostly cub’s ears perked up upon hearing her talk, giggling as it waved its tail in a friendly manner. ” Nice to meetcha, Chrysa~ I really like your name, it’s pretty~” it responded cheerfully, though it gained a thoughtful look on its face at her other question momentarily before giggling, ” Heee~ I’m a Flurry! People call us that because of the snowflakes we carry around with us~ I guess you’ve never seen one before, huh?” A Flurry, huh? Interesting… Chrysa had never heard anything about such creatures before, then again she supposed that she wouldn’t have ever encountered one before. Considering the coloring of the Flurry’s fur and the snowflakes around it, she would hazard a guess that they tended to dwell in much colder climates or where snow was abundant.
As she mulled over this new information she had been presented with, the Flurry clambered out of her lap in favor of resting on her head. ” I like you~ And your Pokemon look like a lot of fun to play with~ Wanna be friends?” it asked curiously, leaning over and bending down so that it could look at her upside-down, flicking its ears in excitement. Chrysa chuckled as she smiled at the Flurry, she really liked its childish antics that were quite similar to those of Amaterasu, and a Ghost-type would be a welcome addition to her team. ” Sure, we can definitely be friends~” she answered with a grin, pulling out an empty Pokeball and holding it up towards the Flurry, ” You’ll fit right in with our little family here, for sure~” The Flurry beamed happily, clearly quite joyous at making new friends as it willingly tapped the button of the capsule with its blue nose, capturing itself with flawless success. It was then that Bastien caught up to them, Chrysa glancing over as their green-haired companion approached them and grinned. ” Had enough training now, Bass?” she asked playfully with a grin, figuring that he had found more of the rainbow-colored Pokemon that had been plaguing them ever since they entered the cave. He then spoke up, asking what Chrysa had meant about a competition, apparently having heard her mentioning it to Roxas earlier. He asked if she meant something like a race or a battle, adding that he would never turn down a challenge, but what sort of competition could they possibly do between three people? She opened her mouth to answer, but quickly covered it up as she giggled when Roxas playfully pushed Bastien away, saying that the redhead had been asking her the question. Going back to the matter at hand, Roxas said she was definitely interested in a competition and asked what exactly Chrysa had in mind. ” Weelllll…” the redhead said, putting a finger to her chin in thought, ” Since there’s three of us, maybe we could do a race or a battle, like Bass said, or perhaps we can do something interesting, like maybe a truth or dare kind of deal~ If either of you guys have any suggestions to toss in, I’m all ears!” Though it was going to technically be a competition, Chrysa wanted to make sure that it was something that was more or less fair and that everyone could agree on. Either way, it was bound to be fun and interesting. The Flurry perched atop Chrysa’s head flicked its ears as it gazed curiously between Bastien and Roxas, wondering if they were its new trainer’s friends. 】☆ ☆

"Kehehe, yup, that's enough training for now I guess!" Having only caught up to hear that Chrysa had a plan of some sort, Bastien hadn't caught a few things. It was only after Roxas teasingly brushed him aside that the young man had time to notice... Ammy was much taller now! "Uwaah, Ammy had a growth spurt! And Ryou, too! Kehehe, awesome!" Bass held his clenched fists up to his face, looking quite excited about it, even if they weren't his Pokemon. While Ramsy seemed indifferent as he wasn't familiar with them, Bita and Sawa quietly glanced at each other. They then puffed out their cheeks, all pouty; both of them were still in their first forms, feeling more and more like dwarves with every passing moment. Then there was also a new Pokemon. It was white and black with blue spots, and looked feline, and... What the heck was it? Bastien and his Pokemon turned their attention to it, noticing the change in temperature most likely due to its presence. "Ehhhhh? Is that a rare Pokemon?" Eyes wide, Bastien curiously looked at the Flurry.

His curiosity would have to wait. There was a competition to plan! "Hmm, well, Cyllage is a pretty sporty city. There's a bike course that loops around the city that we could use for, uhm... Maybe a relay race using our Pokemon, maybe? But then there's the beach... Something... Beachy, maybe?" There were a few things that came to mind involving the ocean and the sand, mainly swimming and strength competitions involving the large rocks on the beach. However, he didn't have anything set in stone. Bastien, still trying to think of things, stiffened and blushed at the sound of a 'truth or dare' competition. "I-I-I-I don't think a truth or dare thing would be a good idea, no offense...! I-I mean, that'd be unfair, you know? Cuz uhm... A-ahaha... Ahb-bub-buh...!" He began to point at himself sheepishly, trying to point out that he was the only boy of the group. That was a fact that made Bass feel as though he'd be singled out in something like that. Not to mention all the embarrassing situations that might occur from either a truth or a dare... He wasn't so sure he could trust Roxas OR Chrysa to refrain from embarrassing the heck out of him. Then again, that sort of was the point of truth or dare... Or perhaps Bastien was just overthinking things.

"N-nevermind," he said, scratching his head awkwardly before looking away. Bita folded his arms, also trying to whip up some sort of challenge for himself and the others. He stuck out his lower lip in deep thought, tapping his paw against his chin. Sawa, on the other hand, gave a forlorn look towards the exit of the cave. Cyllage was close, and that meant...

"Ahh! I've got it!" Bastien snapped his fingers in realization, only to stay quiet for a moment... And then he furrowed his brow to think harder. "Hmm, no, nevermind..."

☆ ☆【 Arceus… Bastien certainly hadn’t been wrong when he’d commented on how tenacious these brightly-colored bastards were! They were good for training, yes, but there were just so many of them and they just kept coming and coming. Bastien had wanted to stay back and train a bit more, though Chrysa had to side with Roxas on the matter since she was just as eager to leave this crazy cave as the blonde was. Of course, she managed to catch up with Roxas once again after fighting off yet another wave of the thieving scoundrels, suggesting that the three of them have a sort of competition between them to see who would get to battle Grant first. Before they could get more into the discussion, however, they were rudely interrupted by yet more of the Rainbow Bright Brigade, though Amaterasu had no troubles with fending them off via Gunk Shot. Even more surprising, however, was that the training had allowed the Fennekin to evolve into her next form, and she had certainly gone through quite a growth spurt from the looks of it. Ammy grinned happily as Roxas praised her, cheerfully dancing around on her now bipedal feet. Chrysa couldn’t help but smile at it, her starters were already growing up so quickly, and it had only just been yesterday that she had gotten them from Sycamore. Then again, those Lucky Eggs were really helping a lot when it came to training! Meanwhile, Roxas and Siren were fending off yet another wave of Pokemon, and the blizzard had certainly made things a lot cooler in the cave now. However, it kept getting colder for some reason, and sure enough the cause turned out to be an adorable little snow leopard-type Pokemon that had been hiding out nearby. The creature, whom had called itself a Flurry, seemed to grow rather fond of Chrysa, and gladly allowed her to capture it.
The redhead grinned as Roxas commented on her new Flurry, saying that she should count her lucky stars that she had gotten her hands on it and not anyone else. ” Heh, thanks Rox~” she said with a chuckle, turning her attention towards Bastien as he finally managed to catch up with them after doing a bit more of his own training. Chrysa grinned a bit at his response to her half-joking question, saying that he was finished with training for now. It seemed that he had caught up just in time to jump in on the conversation about the competition they were planning, butting in a bit only to have Roxas push him aside, saying that Chrysa had asked her the question. It was then that Bastien noticed that Amaterasu and Ryouichi had evolved, the Braixen giggling as she happily bounced on her new paws, while the Frogadier smirked a bit at the boy’s display of excitement. ” Hehe, yeah, they’re growing up fast! Those Lucky Eggs really pack a punch, that’s for certain~” Chrysa remarked with a light laugh, giving a small smile when she noticed Sawa and Bita’s pouty faces, ” Awwww, chin up, ya guys! I’m sure the both of ya will get to evolve real soon too!” It was then that they noticed the Flurry that was now perched on Chrysa’s head, though it was extremely lightweight that if it hadn’t been for the constant aura of cold that it radiated she wouldn’t even know it was there half the time. Bastien and his Pokemon looked curiously at the Flurry, whom stared curiously back at them before giggling and waving towards them with a little paw. ” Hiya~” the Flurry said cheerfully to them, smiling widely at the prospect of new friends. Chrysa smiled as Bastien asked if it was a rare Pokemon, shrugging slightly. ” I guess so…? I mean, I’ve never seen one of these before myself… They’re called Flurries, according to this lil’ guy here~” she said as she gestured towards the feline Pokemon that sat on her head, ” Speaking of which… remind me to give ya a name once we get to Cyllage~” She hadn’t realized she hadn’t come up with a name for the Flurry until just now, she’d need a bit of time to think of a good appropriate one though.
For now though, they focused back on planning out the competition they would have to see who got to battle Grant first, Chrysa throwing out some suggestions of her own before asking her companions if they had anything else to add. Bastien mentioned that Cyllage was a city that tended to revolve around sports, and that there was a bike course that looped around the area. Maybe they could use it for a relay race involving their Pokemon, or perhaps something more beach-themed since Cyllage was also a coast-side city and was only a stone’s throw away from the beach. ” Ehhhh… to be honest I’d rather stay as far away from the ocean as remotely possible, so no beach-type things, please,” Chrysa admitted, fidgeting a bit in her chair at the mention of the beach. Not that she hated the beach, in all honesty, she would’ve loved to go to the beach if it weren’t for competitive reasons. But she would never go anywhere near the ocean, her thalassophobia wouldn’t allow it under any circumstances… She couldn’t help but giggle, however, as Bastien seemed to get all flustered at the mention of a ‘truth-or-dare’ type of competition. He pointed out that it would be unfair, though his explanation for why only produced nervous babbling as he pointed towards himself. Chrysa supposed that he had a point, since Bastien was the only boy out of their group as far as they were concerned. Roxas asked him what the matter was, if he was afraid of them doing a ‘truth or dare’ competition because they would try to make him dress up in girly outfits and pointing out that Suite would love to help him with that. The redhead chuckled, giving a good-natured smile towards the green-haired boy. ” Heh, well I wouldn’t have made ya put on a sparkling pink tutu per se… but if ya insist, then we’ll opt out of the truth or dare stuff for now~” she said with a nod, turning towards Roxas. A race did sound more fair, though the blonde wasn’t so sure about doing it with their Pokemon since it wouldn’t be fair for her, as most of her Pokemon were either heavy or too small to be really fast. Not to mention that the track was meant more for bicycles than for Pokemon.
Roxas then suggested that they could do a bike race, even though it wouldn’t necessarily be fair to Chrysa since she technically couldn’t ride a bike due to her handicapped status. Unless, of course, the redhead wanted to race in her chair, she chuckled as Roxas proceeded to poke around her chair and jokingly ask if she had any rocket-powered extensions on it. ” Heh, I’ve rigged this thing to go at speeds of up to 70 miles per hour even without rockets~ Still, that’s not a bad idea, Rox, I just might try that out sometime~” Chrysa said with a laugh, already feeling the gears start to turn in her head, ” But seriously, I could totally use my chair to race if that’s what we wanna do! Unless there’s something else either of ya hand in mind?” As far as she was concerned, nothing was set in stone quite yet. Still, she nodded in agreement at Roxas’ suggestion that they just go to Cyllage and have a look around to see what they had to offer. ” Yeah, sounds good, Rox, guess we can just play it by ear and see where things go from there,” she added with a nod, glancing over towards Siren as she seemed to shy away from Sawa and was tugging at Roxas’ arm. The Milotic clearly wanted out of this cave, and Chrysa felt that she couldn’t agree less. Roxas seemed confused by Siren’s behavior, but went along with the Milotic’s urging as they started for the cave exit. ” Yeah, ‘bout time we head out of here, let’s go ya guys,” Chrysa said, nodding towards her Pokemon and Bastien as they followed Roxas’ lead. While they made their way out, the yet-to-be-named Flurry gazed curiously at Bastien, clearly quite intrigued by his appearance. ” You look really pretty, m’am~ Your hair looks nice too, how’d you get it to be that awesome green color? Are you Chrysa’s friend? Can I be your friend too?” the snow leopard Pokemon began firing off a series of questions at the green-haired boy, wanting to test him out as well and hoping to make a new friend in the process. Of course, the Flurry had yet to understand that Bastien wasn’t actually as feminine as he appeared to be, being as naïve as it was. It clearly still had a lot to learn, since it had only hatched from its egg as of recently. 】☆ ☆

According to Chrysa, her new Pokemon was called a Flurry. It certainly fit! Bastien sheepishly waved back at the unfamiliar critter before focusing once again on the details of their competition. "Hmmm, so the beach is out, huh? Okay, then how about..." How about more teasing from the peanut gallery? The boy froze up immediately at the mention of pretty princesses and dressing up, and especially at sparkling pink tutus. "I-I'll be opting out of that stuff now and forever, thank you very much!" Bastien put his arms up in a big X gesture, his lips trembling. Back to the matter at hand... Roxas brought up a few good points. Except, of course, for the rocket-powered wheelchair bit. Chrysa seemed entertained by the idea though. Bastien was less than thrilled. "Bwuooah, that sounds dangerous!" His eyes went white and his voice stammered; seventy miles per hour was a lot of miles! Of course, Bastien had never been a speed demon. "Mm, sure. We can just take a look around. Maybe a... Game of keepy-uppy with an inflatable ball, or something? Like volleyball, just way less organized!" Raising his finger up once again, Bastien and his Pokemon followed along towards the exit.

Sawa, still gazing off into the distance, felt a pat on his shoulder quite suddenly. It was his trainer, who'd noticed how tense he seemed to be. It was then that Sawa noticed Siren and Regina, but he quickly looked away. "You're worried about running into Lingqi, aren't you?" The green-haired boy said quietly, hitting the issue directly. Sawa glanced down and nodded, sweat forming on his forehead. "Daijoubu. Even if she lives in Cyllage, Simone works down in Ambrette Town. Those two definitely won't be there this time of day, okay?" It was a flimsy reassurance, but at least it was something. Sawa managed to calm down a little.

Chrysa's Flurry seemed to be fixated on something, though. Was it... Bastien? "A-ah, can I help you, lil Flurry?" He smiled nervously after looking away from Sawa. the snowy creature then managed to strike quite a nerve, pointing out Bastien's femininity. "M-my hair is in a samurai ponytail, meant to symbolize rugged manliness! And the word you're looking for is handsome! A-and yes, we can be friends!" Bastien blushed a deep red, squinting his eyes at the Flurry with puffed-out cheeks. "Gaaaah, it is the hair, isn't it...? Should I cut it...?"
