The Pokenav rang out stating that as Muk leveled up learning the move Gunk Shot which was a powerful poison attack. So the plan would be to start out with Houndoom then move on to Arbok and Muk with Abomasnow and Greninja in reserve. This time he had a good feeling that they would win. Practicing with the gunk shot, hurling a large ball of poisonous sludge at the wild Weepinbell that appeared they won in one hit. Maybe five more levels and they would take Valerie on again.

Finally they came upon an old but new Pokemon by way of Simon stepping on it again and receiving a shock. The nearly flat Pokemon was hidden in the tall grass and even though it hurt a little Simon always felt bad. Abomasnow took what would have been a long battle and defeated the Pokemon right away. With a smile Simon returned Abomasnow and continued towards the Pokecenter when a wild Bellsprout appeared. Since it was a plant it would be an easy win for Muk so Simon sent him out, after this battle he would go to the Pokecenter to check his team's stats.

The next Pokemon to come out of the grass was a Goomy, one that he hadn't seen since he had that dragon incense back on the islands. The Goomy looked rather pathetic like a Magikarp or Feebas, one that would get stronger through evolution. Until then though Muk would defend Simon against the Pokemon. The Pokemon attempted to do a lot of damage with Bind but Muk defeated it before it could happen.

Okay Simon was going to completely switch around his team so that he could be readily prepared for his real quest to search for new information on ghost Pokemon. Considering everything Simon decided to train up Nincada to get the unique ghost Pokemon Shedinja. Once he had the Pokemon he would study more about it. Deciding to train up some more in the area, start out with Nincada then switch out for Muk so that he could get the evolved form sooner. Heading into the tall grass he looked around while sending out Nincada to rest on his shoulder so he could get the experience from Muk. Out of the grass came a Shelmet so Simon decided to catch this Pokemon as well.

Catching the Pokeball Simon looked at it as the Pokeball vanished. Karrablast and Shelmet were so dependent on each other Simon wondered if the Pokemon types were even friendly with each other. They needed each other to evolve but maybe some didn't care to evolve. A professor could spend their entire lives trying to figure it out. Of course Simon didn't have that time so instead he sent Muk out as another Shelmet appeared. Healing Muk up he let the Pokemon go into battle.
