History Aelita never knew her father. He left when he found out her mother was pregnant and never returned. Lita's mother was forced to raise her daughter by herself but she couldn't take the filly everywhere with her. Often, she would leave Aelita alone to play in the shade of a massive dogwood tree in the center of a bright and beautiful grove in the woods while she went off by herself on some errand or another, one day, her mother never came back. Lita stayed there for the rest of her childhood, at first because she was unsure of where else she could go and eventually because she didn't want to be anywhere else. She developed a deep connection with her tree, perhaps her attachment was the misplaced affection leftover from the memories of her parents. The tree never left her alone, it sheltered her, and although she wished it could provide conversation, she began to appreciate the timeless profoundness of its' silence. She ventured a little way away from her tree to find food and water, but otherwise she kept it company. She began to experience a deep psychological pain when separated from the tree for long periods of time, a loneliness and anxiety that proved far too much to bear for anything but the necessities. Aelita is amused and fascinated by strangers, so she happily allowed a pair of passing two leggers to build her a sturdy shelter around the trunk of the tree to shelter her from winter and the worst of the spring and summer storms, it meant that she never had to leave the tree alone, for Lita was sure it felt the pain of their separation as keenly as she. ~Written by Faithofthefallen

gaia_nitemareleft heart gaia_angelright Ashes to Ashes Summary
Aelita's tree is being consumed by a forest fire, and she cannot bring herself to leave. She is found by a seemingly harmless cyote who convinces her that dying in the fire isn't the thing to do, and leads her to safety... then he shifted into a walker.
The walker began seducing her, his words soaked into her mind, gripped her spine; she felt herself slipping into his grasp, and then a passerby stepped in. Ellette happened to be in the right place at the right time, and was able to crush the hold that the walker, Barracus had on Aelita, but the two of them were still little match for a purewalker.
Ellette instructed Aelita to run, to save herself, and she would hold back the purewalker as long as she could. Aelita couldn't let a stranger sacrifice themselves, and in all the chaos, a little songbird began pricking, piercing, and screeching at the walker.
Distracted by the barrage of bird attacks, Ellette and Aelita slipped away, and met up with a friend of Ellettes' who was also escaping the fire. The giant angeni, Ignis, informed them they were going the wrong way and that the fire wrapped around up ahead. They were trapped, the only way out blocked by a pissed off purewalker.
With Ignis at their side, they made their way back to the field with the walker, and the show down began. It was a brutal battle that drug on as the wall of flames closed in on them... flames licking his back, and fiercely outmatched, Barracus chose to fight another day and fled; leaving Aelita, Ellette, and Ignis to escape with Aelita's newly acquired familiar, Claribel. As well as a last hope to restore her home, a cutting of her precious dogwood tree.
