Lykas stepped into a Rapid Spin and braced Windsong against the force. After a moment, he managed to get the right leverage and sent Starmie flying off into the sea. A flash of Lightning caused him to lose sight of it just asit began it's spinning business again. Though after a moment and another flash of lightning, he saw why. The Pokemon had flown off into the clouds and was coming down hard now, it's body crackling with electricity. It didn't seem to be hurting it, so Lykas knew it must be an attack.
A Thunderbolt came flying out of the Pokemon within seconds of the realization. "I'll use an old trick-" he said as he threw Windsong's blade high into the air. The attack was drawn into the metal blade and Lykas reacted quickly, before it backlashed at him. "And fend off several foes!" he finished as he swung the sword in a sweeping arc and sent the electricity flying back out of the blade towards the water's surface. It crackled as it hit and coursed through the salty water and the Pokemon in it at the impact point.
"Let's finish this!" he called as he turned around and landed a slam kick into the Pokemon's core gem. The Pokemon was thrown to the deck, it's gem cracked and flashing rhythmically.
He felt the deck shift as Anna managed to get her hands on the wheel and redirect the ship a second time. "Phi!" Mare cried as he pointed Southeast. Lykas ran over to the wheel and set Mare where he'd be safe and Anna could see him easier. "You need him here and I can fight easier with him out of my arms." he explained before rushing to the Port side of the ship and kicking a Qwilfish in the face. The small poison dual type was sent flying. "Those things never were good for much...." Lykas remarked on the popularity of the ball like Pokemon.

Even through the driving rain, howling wind and tremendous thunder, Lykas heard the sound of scraping. Looking over the railing, his face drained of color at the sight of nearly a hundred Sharpedo circling the boat. Their Rough Skin scraping away at the hull in places where their numbers were greatest.
"Holy shi-ah!" he cried as the boat was jarred. One of the Sharpedo had rammed the boat and caused him to lose his footing as it rocked unexpectedly. He caught himself on the railing and turned to look at Lancer fighting off a very annoyed and hungry looking Huntail.
Lancer deflected incoming attacks left and right. Mostly they were physical in nature, which made it easy. Blocking a Bite, he swung his foil and struck the Huntail squarely in the face. "Tail!" the serpent roared out before blowing a frigid gust at the soaked teen. "It's Icy Wind, look out." he called as he dived out of the way. Watching some of the deck freeze, he stood and rushed the sea serpent. "Get lost!" he cried as he slid the foil under the beast's belly and swung up, hard. "Hunt? Tail!" the Water type grunted as it was launched into the air.
A Sudden Thunderbolt from nearby diverted Lykas' attention toward Anna. Mykel was stood atop the wheel and defending Mare from in front of the Phione. "I refuse to stay safe in my ball while you risk your life!" the Ralts called to Lykas as his eyes narrowed. He grabbed the still airborne Huntail with Psychic and flung it out into the sea.
"Then stay there and only fight if we can't keep something from getting to you." Lykas told the small Psychic as he braced himself against a sudden jolt. "Here comes another wave!" he called as a Sharpedo burst over the edge of the ship.
A Gorebys burst over the other side and went for Lancer, who was between it and Mare. "Stay strong, kid-o. They're only getting tougher!" the teen called to Lykas.
Anna watched the other students fight for all they were worth to protect her and Mare as she fought with everything she had to keep the ship pointed in the right direction. They were slowly making their way to the place Mare was sensing.

Lykas fought against the Sharpedo as hard as he was able to, but it was a very strong opponent. An Aqua Jet sent it flying at him as he dodged off to the side and slammed Windsong down on it. The Épée let out a chime-like sound as it struck the tough skinned Pokemon, doing little more than annoy it.
"We need someone in the water!" Anna called from the helm, fighting both the wheel and the weather to keep pointing in the right direction.
Lancer fought hard against the Gorebys that was assaulting him, in the bad way. "I'd do it, but I can't swim!" he called back as he dodged a Water Pulse by a hair. Charging in, he slammed his foil into the ribbon-thin serpent's face. "Go! Away!" he screamed at it as he flung the creature away from him. Running up on it, he threw his foil into it's side and shoved hard, flicking his wrist as he did. The small-ish Water type was sent spiraling backwards, effectively confusing it just enough for the boy to grab it's tail and fling it into the Sharpedo attacking Lykas.
"Eep!" Lykas shouted in surprise as a pink blur sent Sharpedo overboard with a growl of protest. "Well, time for a water master." the boy muttered as he looked around. For some reason, he had the urge to jump below deck for a moment. Running into the cabin, he saw why. He'd seen a surfboard in there when he retrieved Mare earlier. (Don't ask why it's on an aristocrat's ship. It just is.) Grabbing the board, he ran out onto the deck and dived over the railing. "Keep 'em safe, you two!" he called to the others as he disappeared into the storm.

"Lykas!" came the call from the both of the remaining students. Anna ran to the side, forgetting about navigating for the moment as she scanned the waters surface for Lykas. There wasn't any sign of him as far as she could see, given that really wasn't very far in this weather.
"Anna! Get back at the wheel! We got a big problem!" Lancer yelled to her as he looked ahead. An enormous twister was tearing through the water towards them. "Come on, captain! Get us out of this!" the teen called to her, a bit of fear showing in his voice as he did. He doubted they'd live long enough to regret it if that thing caught them.
Anna rushed back to the wheel and watched the twister as she turned the ship to skirt it's far edge. Hopefully the powerful current around it would launch them past before the winds could pick them up.
"Yaaa-hoooo!" came a call from the open waters.

"What the hell?" Lancer called as he snapped his head around, hoping to find the source. "Is that-"
"Lykas!" Anna called as she pointed out toward the horizon.
Barely visible on the horizon line, appearing in the bright moments when lightning flashed, was Lykas. He was surfing like he'd been born to do it, riding the crashing waves around the water Pokemon and fighting them off with Windsong as if dancing among the waves caused by a never ending hurricane was an everyday occurrence.
After a moment of watching, what they had become certain was a madman, for a while, they saw the reason for his earlier cry. An enormous silhouette surfaced over the horizon, towering above the very small boy on the board.
"It's a Gyarados!" Anna called as she tried to keep the ship moving around the twister.
"Does he see it!?" Lancer asked as he ran to the railing. All of the Pokemon that had been attacking them disappeared as they had drawn closer to the towering cyclone whirling through the sea.
"I don't know, but it looks like it's seen him!" Anna replied as she fought to keep the wheel turned. Her throat was raw and sore from yelling over the storm by now.

Lancer and Anna watched Lykas, helpless to do anything at the moment. He was too far out there to help much, and with all these vicious Pokemon around, neither wanted to put their Pokemon in more risk than necessary.
Lykas rode the waves for another moment or two, the Gyarados drawing closer to him as he did. When it was close enough to attack him, it became obvious that he knew it was there. He was purposely staying close enough to keep it pissed but far enough away that it couldn't hit him yet.
"Come on, Ugly! Come and get me!" he challenged the serpent as he turned his board and moved closer to the ship. The Gyarados roared in protest and sped up in order to try and catch him. The intense waves kept the boy moving at a fairly fast speed, as long as he kept moving along with them. Gyarados drew closer and closer as Lykas kept moving farther away.
"Is he doing what I think he is?!" Lancer asked Anna, an incredulous look on his face.
"If you think he's luring that Gyarados to us, that's what it looks like!" Anna called back. She grabbed onto Mare as she did, keeping him both anchored from the much stronger wind and safe from the Gyarados if it decided to try and attack the ship.
"We nee more speed, Anna. Now!" Lancer called, seeing that they'd be caught in the crossfire if Gyarados attacked now.
Anna nodded and increased the ship's speed as much as she would be able to keep it under control in these conditions, which really wasn't much.

Lykas did seem to have a plan as he lured Gyarados towards the ship. "Alright, ugly. Let's dance!" he called to the leviathan as he turned his board and circled around it. Gyarados truly wished for a moment that it had arms swat the pest away with. Instead, it roared and a large funnel dropped from the clouds, spinning wildly around it. It was using it's own Twister to attack him. "Come on, big fella! Let it go!" Lykas yelled out at it.
He didn't have to wait for long, as the attack came barreling through the water at him within seconds. Thankfully, he'd been ready for it and skirted the edge, using the force of the water at it's base to propel him away just barely in time. The increased force of the rain pounding against his back was starting to hurt by the time the Twister got far enough away to stop influencing the weather.
"Ah!" Anna cried in surprise as the Twister passed in front of the ship. "I think I know what he's doing now! Look!" she called to Lancer, pointing to the Twister attack.
"I don't believe it! It's going the other way!" Lancer cried in shock, referring to the direction of the cyclone's spin. The Gyarados' attack was spinning the opposite direction from the natural twister.
Lykas watched from his board as the two twisters hit each other. "I hope this works." he said under his breath, only knowing he said because he'd felt his lips move. The sound was lost to the weather.

Lykas watched as the two twisters collided and battled for dominance. Only one would stand when the struggle ended, or so it would seem. The boy quickly realized, though, that sitting in one place was making him a sitting duck for the Gyarados. He stood up, as he'd been sitting in a drift position after avoiding the attack, and let the waves start him moving again, skirting around the Gyarados and head back toward the ship.
As he neared, he heard a thunderous sound, louder even than the true thunder that rattled the planks of the ships hull. Looking to the battle between titans, he saw one of the twisters begin to fluctuate wildly for a moment before it practically exploded apart. The other appeared stable for a moment before it simply stopped, as if it had run out of power, and disappeared.
The water instantly became calmer, though it still raged as if angered by some malevolent force. Lykas used the waves to launch himself into the air and land on the ship's deck again.
"You idiot!" Lancer yelled, though he couldn't stop grinning. Somehow, the boy had managed to save them.
"Only if we can't beat that down!" Lykas replied as he pointed to the Gyarados.
I can help with that." Lancer replied as quietly as he could and still be heard. The water was safe enough at the moment to use his partner Pokemon now. "Let's go!" he cried as he released a Lanturn into the sea. Anna released a Mr. Mime as well.
"Let's tag team it!" the three cried together, almost reading one another's minds. "Thunderbolt it, now!" they called to their respective Pokemon,as almost the same instant.
The three Pokemon nodded and three Thunderbolts flew from different directions and hit Gyarados all at once. The combined power was stronger than a Thunder would have been and left Gyarados a crispy critter, floating in the angry sea as Anna navigated in the direction Mare pointed.

With the twister halted, the seas in the immediate area calmed a bit, though still no where near to calm water. "I think we can get to the Sapphire now, we just have to move fast, Anna." Lykas remarked. Even though it had had to be done to save themselves, Lykas hated that they'd had to hurt that Gyarados as badly as they had.
"Mykel....Go use Recover on that Gyarados before we get too far away, but Teleport it away after it's healed, ok." Lykas told his Ralts in a quiet whisper. Mykel nodded and disappeared. A few moments later and a loud roar ensued, though it was immediately gone as fast as it had begun.
"What was that?" Anna asked, though she kept her gaze flicking back and forth from Mare to the sea ahead of them.
"Probably another Gyarados." Lancer commented. Lykas simply shrugged and acted as if he didn't know.
It seemed the Pokemon still hadn't returned to attack them after the twister cleared, and the trio found smooth sailing, so to speak, for a while. It wasn't long before Lykas noticed something on the horizon. "Look!" he called as he pointed to a silhouette just barely coming into view.

Lancer and Anna noticed the same thing Lykas did. As they crawled into a patch of calm water, a much larger ship sailed in from the other side. None of the three realize the sea was calm and the weather fair.
"Who d'ya think it is?" Lancer asked Anna.
"I'll bet it's Pan and Wendy, those little sluts are always chasing us." the woman remarked back.
As the ships neared one another, three figures became apparent on the deck of the larger ship. One of them soon revealed itself to be a black haired woman of moderate height, wearing an orange bandanna on her head. The second was a girl with blonde hair that fell to the middle of her back, adorned in a rather quaint, blue dress. The third a young, but rather brutish looking girl with bluish black hair. She seemed to be wearing clothes of the same color.
As their ship slowed and they stopped their engines, moved solely by the calm winds, Lykas heard voices.
"Haha! Lancer! Anna! You have once again fallen to the wayside, cast off by the likes of us. Pan, Wendy and Terk!" the black haired woman called as she called out a Wailmer and jumped down onto it's back. The one called Wendy released an Altaria and jumped onto it's back. The one named Terk released a black Dragonite and climbed onto it's back.
"We'll just retrieve the Aegir's Sapphire now that you've led us to it." Terk yelled as she and her Dragonite shot through the air.
"No!"

None of the students had expected what happened next. An enormous pillar of water engulfed the Sapphire as Terk drew close to it. As she and Dragonite stopped in their tracks, sea water rained down around them like a soft, springtime shower. As Lykas and Terk watched in awe, the water finally filtered away and left a tower of wind and cloud spinning at a dangerous rate of speed.
"That's.....Aeroblast!" Terk called as she looked to the water below the sapphire, just in time to see a shape shoot up through the pillar.
"Gyyaaaaoouuuu!" came the nearly indistinguishable cry as enormous white wings shot out of the shell around the Gem.
"It's the Guardian!" Lykas called to the others. Never having seen a Lugia before, he didn't know what it was other than the Sapphire's guardian.
"We've gotta keep it distracted long enough for someone to get the Gem." Wendy called to Pan.
"Truce?" Anna suggested to Lancer and Lykas, wondering if they'd agree to such a thing.
"That works for us. We need all the help we can get." Lancer agreed for them both.
She used Mr. Mime to get herself across the gap between the ships and approached Pan. No one could her what they were saying, but it appeared that Pan was agreeing to it.
They didn't have time to think about it anymore as Lugia lunged at Terk and Dragonite. A red aura blazed around the beast of the sea as it's Sky Attack just barely missed. Diving into the waters, it surfaced again a moment later, a Pamtre berry in it's mouth. The berries must float through this sea to reach Sinnoh.
"Look out for Natural Gift!" Terk cried to the others as she directed Dragonite to distract the Lugia.

As Terk and Dragonite attempted to distract Lugia, Anna and Mr. Mime chose that moment to join in. The mime Pokemon used his powers to create a path along the water's surface in order to reach the mighty beast and Anna ran along it as quickly as possible.
Lancer jumped from the ship and landed on Lanturn's back. The lantern fish let out a happy cry at the feeling of its trainer on it's back. "Let's go, Lanturn. We need to help the others." the teen told his Pokemon. "Turn!" Lanturn replied as it cut through the water towards the mighty beast.
Lykas stayed on the ship's deck to watch over Mare at first. "They need me..." the boy told the small Phione as the others rushed into battle.

Pan and Wailmer rushed through the water, heading toward Lugia in hopes of helping Terk get it's attention. The two of them were used to defensive battling. "Let's go Wailmer, the kid needs some footing. Use Ice Beam to freeze the water's surface!" the raven haired teen ordered her Pokemon. "Wail!" Wailmer agreed, charging a ball of frigid energy in its mouth before blasting a beam of cold at the seawater, freezing into a slowly drifting glacier.
"There's my chance!" Lykas declared as he jumped overboard and landed on the patch of ice. It was rather large, which gave him plenty of room to help. "Mykel! Let's go!" he called as he ran forward, slipping slightly in his rushed state.
Mykel Teleported to his trainer's side and landed on his shoulder. "Use Imprison. Lock away any of it's Psychic moves you might know." Lykas requested of him. "I'll try..." Mykel replied as he focused, summoning an ethereal prison to encase the mighty beast.
"Mr. Mime, use Guard Swap!" Anna called to her Pokemon. Mr. Mime nodded and mimed a trade with Lugia, stealing away it's defensive properties.
"Alright Lanturn. Give 'em a hand. Try and hit it with a Thunder Wave." Lancer requested of his Pokemon. "Turn!" Lanturn replied as it's lure sparked and crackled with electricity. Releasing it in a wave-like pulses the pair watched and hoped they could get Lugia caught up in at least one of the two restricting attacks.

Lugia let out a defiant cry as it twisted and writhed int he grip of Mykel's Imprison. It fought and fought against the mental constraints for all it was worth. "I think you got it Mykel!" Lykas congratulated as he slid across the glacier Pan had made.
After a moment or two, Lugia seemed to stop resisting and simply dived out of the way of Lanturn's Thunder Wave. "Gyyyaaaoouuu!" it cried out as the Pamtre berry still clutched in it's mouth began to glow brightly, releasing the natural power within it.
A powerful burst of energy erupted from the berry and Lugia used it to it's advantage, directing the steel hard blast at Lykas and Mykel. Lykas stopped dead in his tracks, or tried to at least, when he saw the attack coming. He hadn't expected something of that size to come at him so quickly.
"Mr. Mime, use Reflect!"
Lykas barely heard the call as the air before him suddenly shimmered into life, hardening to the strength of titanium. Lugia's attack impacted the barrier and Mykel snapped from his own frightened daze and Teleported Lykas away from the targeted zone.
