There was a young boy standing in a bare walled room, lost in a world he didn't recognize. Where is this place? Why am I here? Why am I so sore? These thoughts reverberated through his unoccupied mind. The questions echoed back at him, their meanings becoming more and more profound as he listened to himself asking them again and again.
Lykas opened his eyes to the bare walls of Lady Clemence's treatment room. "Did I find the sword?" he asked, mostly to himself. He wasn't as surprised as he should have been when Lady Clemence appeared, carrying the sword with her.
"Indeed you did, my newest apphentice." she said quietly. "I am honestly shocked that you managed to find it as quickly as you did." she replied. "All of the othahs I have sent on that quest of youhs, heturned to me empty handed." she told him as she approached his bedside and stood over him. "You should be vell enough to take on my thaining now." she said as she offered him the sword in her hand. Completing that test took a gheat deal of vill from someone so young. And gheat vill leads to a sthong heaht and a sthong heaht tempehs the vill to ihon hard." she added as she watched Lykas climb to his feet, wincing slightly as his muscled screamed at him in protest.
"Then teach me." he said as he took the sword in his hand and tensed his grip on it, determined to finish this training and earn the right to defend his friends and allies. This wasn't just about wanting to be useful now. For someone as strong as Lady Clemence compliment him as she had, made him feel proud of what strength he already had. Now he was defending that sense of pride as much as he was earning his place in Snagem. His face hardened as he looked to Lady Clemence, who nodded and began leading him to a special training room.

Lady Clemence led Lykas into a dimly lit room, the boy slowing for a moment as his eyes adjusted. "Hehe is vehe you vill tempah youh vill to an unpahalleled sthength. Youh tenacity vill sthengthen youh vill to suhvive." she explained as she vanished into the darkness skirting the edges of the room.
Lykas could hear the sound of several Pokeballs opening and looked around him. He could see several silhouettes around him and as he watched, he let out a relieved sigh. Nothing but a small group of Porygon and Porygon-Z. "That's it?" he asked as he looked at them. "They're just data. I'll have 'em frag'd in no time." he commented as he turned to look at a Porygon-Z. It gave him an evil look as he watched as its wing-like appendages narrowed, sharpened and lengthening into swords. Looking around him, the other Z's used Conversion to do the same. The Porygon in the back used a Conversion 2 and became floating balls of spikes.
"Oh...that makes things harder." he remarked to the darkness. "What am I supposed to do?!" he called out to the dark, hoping for a response from Lady Clemence. "Suhvive. Tempah youh vill to suhvive. Use the swohrd and youh own instincts." came the phantasmic reply.
"Oh goody." Lykas remarked as he narrowly dodged on of the Zs coming at him.

Lykas ducked and doged, turned, blocked and parried everything he could, though the tide of Pokemon encroaching upon him was cause enough for sweat to form on his brow. "I can't keep this up." he told himself as he did his best to avoid being cut to ribbons. His shirt was cut in places, where he'd barely managed to avoid being skewered. His breathing was coming heavily now as he fought back with all his might, trying to drive the foes back.
As He missed one of the incoming wing-blades and as it drew ever closer to his face, the world suddenly seemed to freeze. "You're trying to hard." came a rough, female voice from behind him. Turning to look, he saw a tough looking teenage girl not much older than him. "Don't try so hard. Listen to the world around you and it will tell you what to do." she said as she slowly faded away.
The world suddenly flashed back into action. Startled by finding that the Porygon had backed away from him a bit. Taking a quick look around, he realized that he was the one who had somehow moved. He decided that whoever that girl he'd seen was, had known what she was talking about. He opened his ears, flooding his senses with the sounds around him.
He watched as the Porygon rushed at him again. As one swung at him, he heard a soft voice. Parry left whispered in his ear. He had no time to not do it and found that he was clear of harms way, and the Pokemon was flung back from him. Another rushed him from behind. Spin right and liement flickered through his mind. The boy did as he was told and found that the attacker was sent spinning away from him in a diagonal line. Who are you? He asked the voice as he fought, still listening to it's suggestions. Instinct. Will. The world. the voice responded. I am you. Your fighting spirit and your will to survive. the voice replied.

Lykas seemed to dance among the attacking Pokemon as he conversed with himself, his mental conversation halting long enough to heed his will's advice. Then who was that woman I saw? the boy finally asked. Your reason. Your purpose. That is your subconscious drive to fight, survive, live on and continue searching. his will replied.
Lykas dodged an incoming thrust and parried the attacker's blade, sending the data Pokemon tumbling backwards, knocked off balance. Searching? For what? Lykas thought. For her, stupid. You haven't forgotten the reason you left the gym, have you? the mental voice reprimanded. Lykas frowned inwardly, serving only to prove his own point. Your sister is waiting for you to find her. Use the skills you learn from this training to find her! he urged himself. Yet again, he could feel his determination grow ever more intense and his eyes showed it as he danced among the attacking Pokemon dodging, blocking, parrying and countering every attack to near perfection.
"Exquise!" came Lady Clemence's call through the dark. "Retour." came the second vocal evidence of her presence. At the command, the Porygon and their evolutions all returned to their respective resting places in the dark recesses of the room. The sound of Pokemon being returned filled the air for a split second.
"UNE merveilleux séance!" Lady Clemence cried eagerly as she approached the young man and embraced him. "Youh vill has hahdened to the sthength of steel, pehaps gheateh." she informed the boy. "I can see it in youh eyes." she explained to the boy as he looked up at her. "You may vell be a phodigy." she praised as she led him to another room to have him examined for any extensive damage from the battle. Lykas followed in a kind of haze.

Lykas followed Lady Clemence to a small, whitewashed room and sat on a small table there. "Please, remove your shirt so I can examine you for any injuries." came a young man's voice. Lykas snapped from his daze as he did do. "Where's Mykel?" he asked, realizing for the first time that the Ralts had not been with him when he woke up.
"Mykel?" the other man asked. "Oh you must mean that little Ralts that was with you when I retrieved you from the stadium." he said as he looked over Lykas' chest, poking and prodding at the pale flesh. "I treated him for exhaustion and he's been resting while you were training. He should be all rested up and ready for almost anything by now." he explained as he had Lykas turn around so he could check his back.
"So, am I ok?" Lykas asked when the 'doctor' was done. "Other than a good deal of bruising, and some very obvious stress, you're fine. But I'd take it easy on that body of yours for as long as possible. You're body's quite fragile from you look of you." the man replied as he removed the gloves he's been wearing. "Oh and...uh, I'd start wearing thicker pants if I were you." he remarked with a mild blush. "Any more cuts to those and I'm afraid those flimsy things would fall off." he explained to Lykas' curious look.
"But I like Satin..." Lykas replied as he was released, walked out of the room to find Mykel waiting with Lady Clemence. "So, did I pass?" he finally asked.
Lady Clemence looked at him for a moment. She seemed to go into thought for a few moments before speaking again. "Yes, I believe you have." she finally said, smiling very faintly. "Now for your reward." added as she straightened herself out. "Is the chance to choose a sword of your very own from my personal collection." she explained. "Follow me."

Lykas followed the Lady to a room somewhere deep in the back of her academy. "Hehe ve ah." she said at last, stopping before a large door, covered in silver leaf designs. Unlocking the door, she stepped inside and beckoned Lykas to follow. "Choose any one of these you like, you have earned the right to bear whichever you like." she explained. Lykas followed the woman in and found himself to be in awe of the massive collection. Foils, Epee, Rapiers, Broadswords, Short Swords, Sabres and a variety of other fencing swords were hanging on display around the room. Which one should I pick? he asked himself, inwardly. "Listen to youh instincts, my young student." Lady Clemence commented as she watched the blue haired teen looking over the weapons. Lykas heard her and as he looked over the swords, he listened. That one. finally came to him as he came across an epee of great brilliance. The sword a glimmering silver that seemed to be crying out to sing it's song of battle. "Windsong." Lady Clemence remarked as she looked at it. "Youh instincts are to be feahed." she said softly. "Such a blade in youh hands may become the deadliest of edges in time." she encouraged him. "Thank you, Lady Clemence." Lykas said with a soft bow. "I'm afraid I must be going now. My friends are waiting for me to return." he told her. "Then take the swohds scabbahd and hetuhn to them. But do not fohget vhat I have taught you." she told him as she handed him the sword's sheath. "Youh vill vill keep you fhom hahm if you tempah it continually. Be unvilling to be sthuck and youh instincts vill guide you." she said with a soft bow of her own, prefering the more extroverted and bold motion to a curtsy. Lykas called Mykel to his side and both waved as Mykel Teleported them home.
