Duskai is quiet in the sense that she rarely speaks and other Soquili hardly notice her. She is very much an outsider, and not because of any mixed blood in her. She has never been good at interaction with others and likes to keep to herself. This wasn’t always true however, and a kind, caring personality is hidden under her silence. Duskai is not one to stay where she isn’t wanted, and isn’t keen on trying to make herself wanted. She also second guesses herself, and overthinks everything she says.
In the presence of friends, she has been quite talkative. She has opened up to them, but having her foals has dampened her spirits. While being pregnant was not a problem for her (though she wasn't exactly a fan of waddling about), something happened when she actually had her daughters. A small voice started to speak about how she couldn't be a good mother. How could she do it? Her mother left her for dead just about when she abandoned her during the tormenting by Dradneos. How could Duskai even think about being a mother? She has fallen into depression and never ending lethargy and despair.
While she may think she can't be a mother, her maternal instincts do still work, as was evident when Dradneos came back into her life and met his niece Kaidus (though none of them knew it until the end of the encounter). She just does not trust them to be able to care for her now grown daughters.
Do not call her 'Little Mouse'. This brings up bad memories for her and it terrifies her.
History: As a foal, Duskai was teased every time she tried to speak. She was never sure why this happened. A few times, she was yelled at for speaking. After this incident, Duskai has been silent for the most part, saying only a few words very softly, and staying out of groups. She came to these lands as a very very silent horse. Lily found her wandering lost in the woods by her teepee, and took the horse in.
At the moment, the mare is starting to open up with the help of Lily (even though she is a human) and her new found friends.
She met Kai Liu, a very nice stallion and they became very smitten. One night in his secret hideaway, the pair acted upon their love and Duskai became pregnant. At the time, it seemed great, to be able to have Kai Liu's foals. And then she had them, and suddenly she couldn't do it. She couldn't take care of them. Her mother never took care of her, how could she take care of young of her own?
Duskai is currently suffering from postpartum depression, and it is destroying her relationship with Kaidus. Her daughter all but hates her, and Duskai knows its her own fault, but she can't do anything about it. She doesn't believe she can.
Her brother has returned and some of her maternal instincts have shown through, but she still fears him, even if she does defend him. She has found herself alone, wandering the lands, unable to find solace. Duskai is starting to think that death is the only way to bring peace to her soul, and her relationship with her daughter, though suicide is far from her mind.

Corine is quite detached from the rest of the world. She rarely has a real opinion on something and doesn't like to concern her self with much. That aside, she is caring to her brother and herd mates, but others... not so much. She'd rather listen to the story than give an opinion on it. She's not the type of horse who will get up in your face about things, nor is she the type that never say a word. Just what comes out of her mouth usually shows she's disinterested in something.
Moreover, she tries to be impartial on EVERYTHING. She will always here the same story four thousand different times, from four different horses, before she makes her decision on something. The only one she really lets herself make comments and judgments to is her brother.

Tachi is curious about the world around her, almost to an unstoppable point. You put a Kalona in front of her, and she'll probably ask it a bunch of questions and never stop. And, sadly this has happened.
She does know when to stop... but it's very hard for her to do so.
History: She came to the group out of her curiosity, though no surprise there. As a young foal, she met the most wonderous colt, though she does not remember him much. Present day, you can't get her nose out of bush without her wanting to know everything about it.
And it has started getting her in trouble. She walked into the territory of a Kalona named NightShade and... may the Angeni watch over and spare her life of this encounter.

Weeks of having Renji the wolf around her basket, and after she hatches leaves a lasting impression on Kaidus. Kaidus inherits some of her mother's quietness, and a lot more of the suaveness that comes from Kai Liu. It is quite good at getting what she wants, but knows when to not push it.
Just don't ask it about her mother. Kaidus holds a deep seatted grudge against her from abandoning her and her sibling. She pretty much will ignore her presence when she comes home, and try to plot against any half siblings that arise. She will mostly go as Kai, because of this.
History: Kai came out of her basket to first see a blue wolf sitting next to her, and then a large purple mare. The mare gave her a small smile, but there was a fear hidden in her grey eyes. Not long after her mother disappeared for weeks. The wolf, Renji, took care of her, as did Corine, during this time.
As a foal, she was a hateful girl with a sly tongue. As a young adult, she is is much the same, though she has a greater knowledge for the world these days. She is very much her father's daughter, in coat and in tongue.
Kaidus recently met her uncle, Dradneos, and while she found a sliver of love in Duskai, could not understand why the purple mare would defend a stallion who tormented, blood or not. She has slid away from her mother even further, not knowing exactly what it is that she doing to Duskai.

Dradneos is quite evil. He is not insane. There is a difference. He has not lost his mind, and is completely conscious of what he does. He just gets pleasure out of seeing other terrified and in pain. He's a sadist, and twisted. He enjoys tormenting others, esspecially those filly little mares who always seem to be in the wrong location at the wrong time. He is not blood thirsty, and does not kill, but he does like to play with another's mind.
Dradneos takes after his father in more ways than just his toying with others, and his coat. Drad will never be a one mare stallion, and flings are his way of life. He, during his little games and just in general, will look for the best mare to use to increase his bloodline. Once he finds one, he will do anything to snag her, even if she is very much out of his league. Once he has gotten foals, though, he will disown any who do not have a majority resemblance to him. Only ones that he knows have gained his genes will he pay attention too. He is very firm on this, but he will never use those foals as target practice, not after what happened to his sister. He will, however, ignore their entire existence until they either confront him, or by some miracle he changes.
He has one true soft spot, and that's for Duskai, his original Little Mouse. He does not realize how much pain that name brings to Duskai, for he was blinded by their father's insanity, but only wants to protect her. He would stand in front of a Skin Walker if it meant she could live. His way of showing his love for her is not the most wondrous - he tends to look like he's stalking her - but it's the only way that he can care for her, watching over her.
History: Dradneos was what his father had always wanted. He was a strong foal, inherited most of Erabos' glowing markings, and almost nothing of the mare he'd bedded. Drad had, though, some of the wench's blank stare and absentminded look that just made you want to be nothing but kind to him. His father early on rided the boy of that, showing him that being sly and quickwitted, and just a little off the rocker was not a bad thing.
There was a time, though neither sibling remembers it now, where Dradneos and Duskai where closer than a chipmunk and a walnut. Duskai was always just naturally quiet, and enjoyed spending time with her only brother. He protected her from the other foals who loved to use the meeker sibling as target practice.
That is, until their father started twisting Dradneos against her. And then the hell started.
