Tucked away in Hemlock was a large building, an institute really, the building looked old in fashion and somewhat foreboding but for those who dared walk up the stone path lined in bushes and enter through the old high wooden doors with large iron knockers they would find themselves in a clean well cared for home.
Like the outside though the inside too carried that forboding feeling and a silence that was all consuming but there was life inside this building, well unlife anyway but who knew about that?
Moving down the main hallway, past the stairs and past a table with a chair next to it and books bound in leather set upon it's dark wooden surface, toward that glow seeping out from under a door to bath a few inches of the floor in a pale golden light.
Two large doors soon loom infront of you a dim glow under the doors just touching the tips of your toes. Posted upon the door a scroll is tacked reading in a flourish of black ink, clearly done with a feather pen.
To whom it may concern,
Your intelligence and devotion to knowledge has come to our attention and thus you are welcome beyond these doors. Should you not be an invitation bearing fae you shall be escorted off the premises.
Regards, Marconius

-Kamilah-
The first rays of sun had just pushed their way through the curtains, sprawling across the floor in elegant patterns. Outside, a bird chirped the first song of the morning, but of course, Kamilah had been up at least an hour ago. Early to bed, early to rise, makes a Fae, wealthy, healthy and wise. The old saying was something that the Nymphae had believed all of her life. So she had been up an hour before the sun to begin her daily rituals.
Her hair was all set in perfect loose curls; her eyes were wide and awake, catching the light in just the perfect manner; her fur was all properly groomed. Kamilah was ready for anything that the day could bring. Except for the one thing it did.
Sitting on her dining room table sat a blank envelope that she was quite certain she hadn't left there. In fact she knew she couldn't possibly have left it there, not in it's place! But that left no reason for why it was looking as if it had reason to be there. Her long ears twitched slightly as she took the letter opener from the drawer, seated herself, and picked up the envelope by the edges. Somehow she wasn't sure if she wanted to read what was inside or not. Yet, she pulled the dainty letter opener across the top of the envelope, knowing it was rude not to read her own mail.
Eyes dancing across the page that she had pulled out, Kamilah's brow furrowed slightly, her lips pursed. It was in invitation, but it didn't say to what type of event. The only information it held was the location, and a name. Marconius. What an interesting name. Her paws turned the paper over, looking for something on the back perhaps. Unfortunately, there was nothing more.
Her mind raced, trying to decide if it was more rude of her not to go, or of the sender, of this Marconius not to have included more information. She didn't even know how to dress! That was it! She couldn't possibly go and risk being under or over dressed. Standing up, and moving to put the invitation in the trash, she stopped. Or maybe she should go. Yes. Indeed, she should most certainly go. Now that she stopped and thought, it seemed the only choice.
It was much later in the night, just after the sun had fallen, when Kamilah made her way to the address with which she'd been provided. What an interesting estate. The house was beautiful, or would have been, had it been taken care of, but as it stood, it looked a tad run down. She could only hope she hadn't made a mistake coming here. A strange feeling knitted itself into her stomach, making her uneasy as she stepped through the front doors and into the entry way.
Now the house showed it's true, stunning colors. It was magnificent, but somehow that feeling seemed to grow, making Kamilah pause every few moments to look around and be sure no one was going to jump out of the shadows at her. Her small, even steps finally led her to a grand set of doors. Eyes scanning the scroll tacked up, she looked at the invitation in her hand. Swallowing the lump that had forced it's way into her throat, she knocked once, twice, and three times, listening to the sound echo eerily through the entry way.

A pale ear twitched at the knocking sound coming from the wooden doors that closed his library off from the rest of the place he called a haven, not a home. Looking up from the thick tomb he had been reading a paw flipping the page even as he looked up.
"Enter."
His voice was smooth and even no emotions played into his voice as he spoke. His word was simple, an invitation to enter. Impossibly dark eyes, there wasn't a hint of any pupil or iris, were turned to the door as his book was left open in his lap, a fire place burning away only a few feet from him heated the room but also sent brilliant shadows about the room.
The room itself was impressive but only so to those with a love for reading as the room was filled with shelves that were packed with neatly lined up books some looking ancient, with yellowed pages and smelling of the years they'd seen.
Watching the door keenly to see who would enter, he knew what each fae looked like that he had sent an invitation to so he would know just which fae this was when they entered his domain.

Her paw hesitated on the doorknob, the unnaturally empty voice that beckoned to her spooked her just a little bit. But she was the one who had come here, and it was up to her to finish this little event, whatever it was. Turning the knob and stepping into the room, closing the door behind her before she took a chance to look around, Kamilah found herself stricken.
It was wondrous. She'd never in her life seen so many books in one place. There must be decades, millenniums even, worth of knowledge and stories in those yellowed pages. For a moment, she forgot the the unease that was knitted in her stomach. That was until she looked at the strange Fae that was seated in the chair hardly a foot from the fireplace. In that moment she noticed the shadows that danced across the floor and the shelves. In that moment, all her unease hit her like a brick to the head.
Nervously, she met his dark eyes, almost immediately looking away. The intensity of the black that she found there did frighten her. But she didn't look away in shame, she tried to turn her interest in a different direction. Kamilah wasn't sure if she should speak first or wait for him to. Her mind rifled through her years of manners, but she couldn't think of anything to fit this situation.
"Thank you, for the invitation." It was all that had popped into her head.

Watching Kamilah, he did know who she was, look at his books with wonder and almost smirked but didn't do so as he kept his endless eyes focused on her ever motion and action her ever expression was taken in by him.
She appreciated his collection that was obvious and pleased him as he knew he had indeed chosen correctly. Even after sleeping so long there were still those who appreciated books alive and he had found them.
Marking the page in his book the book was then closed it's leather cover impossibly dark but worn as well from multiple reads, it was obviously well liked by the fae. Setting the book on the side table next to his chair a pale, longer then was natural, paw made a motion to the chair across from him. "Do have a seat Kamilah." He spoke calmly.
"I have some questions for you."

Once more a sense of being frozen in place came over her as her mind urged her to decline, politely of course, and leave. Something didn't feel right here, and his arm; it was so long. No normal FaeKat's arm was that long, and Kami had a feeling that if he stood, he would tower over her. For some reason, the idea made her want to shiver, but she suppressed it. Finally, she snapped, and as if drawn, she took the seat offered to her, still unsure of why she was sitting.
Only once she was sitting across from this most mysterious FaeKat, did she realize he had called her by her name. Once more a quiet fear passed over her mind. It was more than something being not right. Something was flat out wrong. How could someone that she'd never met, never heard of, never seen, know her name, where she lived, and that she would come? It was too well laid out. What could be going on here?
She figured the only way to find out would be to stay and play his little game. Whatever it was.
"Well, hopefully I'll have some answers for you, Marconius." Assuming that he was in fact, the one who had sent the invitation, she went ahead and called him by name.

"Let us hope you do have the correct answers." He spoke calmly while pitch eyes watched as she sat. She was nervous, if not terrified of him. Such was not something he was pleased with but it was to be expected so was let to slide for now.
"Tell me, what is your opinion on books, reading, knowledge and are you as dedicated to such things as I believe you to be?" He questioned. The most important thing was her thirst for knowledge and quest to gain more but he would get to that set of questions of course.
He didn't mention a thing to her about weather she had gotten his name right or not, that would be all in due time, possibly.
If this fae infront of him passed she would be the first new member to his bloodline, a bloodline which needed new life. When he had woken up from his long slumber he had woken to find his bloodline gone, he did not like that in the least. Not only where they gone but everything, all the information they had to have gathered while he slumbered, was gone lost to time.
He was going to build his bloodline up again but he also didn't want to overrun himself with new childer, it would cut into his time of study and reading, research, and he disliked that greatly.

It was still eerie in her mind how he knew so much about her, but she didn't want to offend him by acting too frightened. While he was strange and rather intimidating, perhaps she was just overreacting to the whole situation. Yes. That must be it. How could she overreact? He was just a stranger who knew her name, where her home was, and her hobbies. Nothing strange about that. Pushing the hysterical thoughts out of her mind, she looked back at him one more time, still avoiding his eyes.
"Well, I absolutely love to read, and knowledge is of great importance to me. I've been raised to know the proper way to do things, so I've always had to study." With a small movement, she brushed a piece of her hair from her face. "So, I would say that if you believe me to be dedicated to knowledge, then you are correct in thinking." A smile graced her lips, the first of the evening.
Her tail curled around her waist elegantly as her head-wings twitched slightly, stirred by the warmth of the fire. It was nicer over here, though the fire side chair didn't feel as warm as it should. It was almost as if there was a draft somewhere in the room, some unknown source of cold. How strange. Perhaps it was just the fact that the house was so old, or at least appeared old. Once more, her eyes traveled the room, taking in some of the finer aspects now that she wasn't so mesmerized by the amount of books in the library.

Monarch stared at her surroundings. Silver eyes glided over the interior of the house. The house was in remarkable condition. She was actually quite surprised at how well-keep it was dispite the surroundings outside. Strands of midnight black and skyblue hair fell into her eyes as she read the invitation to herself again, Her curiousity perking up once again as she finished. She wanted to know who this Marconius was... and why she had recieved this invitation.
Monarch paused. She had stopped to look at the books that were on the table. Before even openning the covers, she could tell that they were quite old. The pages themselves were a faded gold. She knew there were more books somewhere. She figured that the houses library would be rather large. Her eyes moved to the door infront of her. She hadn't knocked just yet but she had a feeling the person on the other side already knew she was there... The purple nymphae had to wonder, what would happen after she knocked? Well, to answer that she simply had to knock.
So she did. She held her breathe waiting. Last minute thoughts ran through her mind and she wondered if her curiousity had gotten the better of her. She breathed deeply. She had to calm down. She didn't want to walk in there nervous. She mumbled the name Marconius to herself. She had a feeling she'd be here a while...

Indeed he had been correct about the female sitting opposite him and he gave what could pass, for him, as a smile. It wasn't like smiling was something he did. Watching her look over his books he was watching every action of hers not a single thing she did slipped past his pitch eyes.
She was interested and she would serve his bloodline well he was sure of this but she would need training and need to be brought into his bloodline, he would make her his.
"Tell me, what would you think of having an eternity to read and research, to learn everything there is for you to learn?" Would she spend that eternity, which he could give her, learning, or would she spend it like some other vampires spent their eternities, involved petty useless activities.
Hearing a knock he looked to the door for a moment then the one he was talking to. "If you don't mind, I sent out several invitations, it would be terribly impolite of me to leave this one out in the hall waiting so she will be joining us." He spoke before calling out calmly for this new fae to enter.
Solid black eyes locked on the door with only mild interest as he waited to see which fae had answered his invitation now.
((Going to now set an order to the posting...Estelle then Morbid and then I'll go. If anyone else jumps in do so after Morbid and before me.))

Her brow furrowed ever so slightly at the mention of eternity. Certainly it would be wondrous to have forever the study and learn new things, but it wasn't possible, except for the Deities. Why had he asked her such a strange question? Her mind raced about in a slight confusion as the ever present trace of fear lingered there. How could she answer that properly?
"Well, it's a beautiful idea, to have eternity to learn everything there is to learn, but..." She was interrupted by the knocking on the door. The sudden noise caused her to jump slightly, but Kamilah quickly settled herself again and her pale blue eyes turned to the door. "I don't mind at all."
Of course, this hadn't been a private affair. Kamilah should have realized this; it was just too odd to think of one invitation being sent out. Clasping her paws in her lap she waited for the entrance of the other, wondering who it might be.

Monarch entered the room to find two faes on the otherside. Her eyes scanned both of them. The Female was just like her, a Nymphae. Her fur was of a beautiful shade of blue. The male fae, was of the purest white. His dark purple hair complimented his pale color wonderfully.
"I recieved an invitation..." she spoke in the direction of the male. "Are you Marconus?" She hadn't moved from her position by the door. She wouldn't move unless giving the invitation to sit. Her eyes wandered from the two faes to get a look at the room. More books lined the walls. Her curiousity peeked again when she thought of what the books contained inside their pages.
"Charming room." she complimented. She wondered if the house had more rooms like this. "Oh, Forgive me. My name is Monarch." She said giving a small bow in the direction of the two. She hoped the man was indeed Marconius, she was eager to know why she had recieved the invite.

He had sent out many invitations though to see only one fae here was concerning, he had not made mistakes he had made sure of that but these fae's must have not been interested and that was were the problem came in.
Of course he had figured some would not show, he had not planned on so few not showing, then again he didn't need a lot of children running around in the pursuit of knowledge, as it was common for younger childer of his bloodline to run around and get personally involved in the history they sought out.
"Very good Kamilah, I did invite many others to this gathering though I fear many have decided not to join us this eve, a terrible thing really." He spoke calm as ever.
Watching the female enter he nodded his head calmly to her as he stood slowly. He was far taller then most fae's could ever hope to be he was perhaps nearly seven foot in height if not larger. His fingers were long and slender as were his toes, he was abnormal looking but his appearance seemed to suit him quite well, infact he looked handsome or dashing.
"Yes, I am aware of whom you are, do come, have a seat." He spoke motioning her to a chair beside the other female fae as he moved with such grace to stand at the stone mantle of the fireplace.
"I will have some questions for you Monarch as soon as Kamilah has finished answering my question for her." He spoke his impossibly dark eyes turning to the blue female who he had been speaking with previous to this new arrival.
((Estelle then Morbid then me again, going to keep this order, I quite like it, I hoe you both like my posts and it all works like this.))

Looking over the other Nymphae, she offered a smile. She certainly was pretty. With a swipe of her paw, she moved her hair from her face once more, tossing it over her shoulder before looking back to Marconius. For a moment she was confused, forgetting that she had stopped mid question.
"Oh! I was just saying, an eternity to study would be lovely, but such things only happen for those lucky enough to be of a heavenly stature. Normal FaeKats only get the chance in fairy tales." Her eyes wandered from the other girl back to Marconious, hoping she had answered correctly. If not, at least she had answered, to her knowledge, honestly.
"But if I had the chance of a lifetime to learn forever, it would be more than I could ask for."

Monarch took a seat beside the other Nymphae, returning the smile. Questions? Good. She had been waiting for this part.
Her ears perked up as she listened to the other females response. An eternity to study and read? My my, that would be interesting. There were so many possibilities as to what you could learn from an eternity of reseach and study. The thought made Monarch fuzzy and a bit giggly. But the other female was right. It was nearly impossible for a normal faekat. Only the Gods and Deities had that kind of power.... right?
Monarch blinked, shrugging the possibility off. She wondered slightly what it was that Marconius wanted answers to. Her eyes wandered around the room again, looking at the various books and knick-knacks that were placed about it. Granted, this had been the only room in the house she had seen... but it was slowly becoming a favorite. Her attention focused back to her companions in the room when she noticed the other female nymphae fall silent. She pondered what Marconius my say next.
