Stephan King and Edgar Alan Poe because i don't consider Anne Rice's work as horror, it's more of romance and adventure than horror. by the way can anyone recommend me any horror books? (by other authors than the one mentioned razz )

There are some pretty good authors mentioned ( and in my opinion Clive Barker is by far the best suggestion: read The Inhuman Condition by him brilliant though sadly they are only short stories ) but there is a series of books based off of 30 Days of Night ( before the movie ) but they are not exactly the 30 days of night book ( if you can guess at all what that means ) the first one is called Rumors of the Undead and the second is Immortal Remains they are both by the authors Steve Niles and Jeff Mariotte they do a great job in both of these books but they are both from different points of views in different periods of time. ( sorry about the long explanation )

Stephen King will always be my favorite. He's knows just what scares and how to use it to totally scare the "h---" out of ya!

I read all different kinds of authors who writes horror books. Some are Clive Barker, Stephen King, Dean R. Koontz, Anne Rice,Edgar Alan Poe, and h.p. lovecraft.
I love how Clive Barker adds his Homosexual into his stories. It makes his books more interesting to me.

Edgar Allen Poe is definately one of my favorites,
I absolutely adore the Cirque du Freak series by Darren Shan, though I'm not sure it can be considered Horror.

I love Stephen King. The Long Walk is amazing! ^^ I like Anne Rice too, but she drags things on sometimes in my opinion. Edgar Allen Poe is pretty amazing too. He doesn't need a whole bunch of gore to get in your head.
