Now I don't even know what to do. My mind is so frazzled from all that.

What emotion does your character evoke in others?S: They feel calmed by my presence.Z: Protected?F: When I'm upset, it's fear. When I'm in a good mood, they are curious about me.

What does your character need most? S: To receive recognition from my parents that I'm doing something good. That I'm on the right path.Z: Although I may not openly mention this, I want to regain trust in others. Being betrayed by my own love when my honor was at stake was quite hurtful.F: Understanding of how I came to be and why my "creator" deserted me.

What is your character’s goal in life?S: To bring back a long, lost relic of my faith... to prove all of my reading and daydreaming of "fairytales" - and going adventuring - wasn't a waste of time.Z: To regain honor to my name.F: To make my "creator" understand how I felt during my years alone. Revenge and justice wrapped together in one.

Describe your character's hairstyle in detail. Why did she choose it? How much does she care about it?S: Golden blond hair that cascades down my back. Usually pulled back as its easier when I'm adventuring and don't have to worry about hair getting in my face (as much). I'm fairly attached to my hairstyle just because I've had it this way for so long. No religious or culture meaning.Z: Black high ponytail. Think Ariana Grande. Easier to fight when in battle... but I like it long, so I can still charm people when need be. If something happens to it, then no biggie. I can grow it back out, if the occasion arises.F: [[Her appearance is still being defined.]].

1.How old is your character?S: In elf terms, I've just entered adulthood. To humans, I look like a teenager or somewhere around there.Z: Let's just I've seen many seasons. Old enough to have been through quite a bit to know the ways of the world but still young enough to tackle new things.F: Do you want the age I was before I was "created"? Or since the day I was "created"?2.Are your parents still alive?S: Yes.Z: [[I haven't gone into detail regarding this yet.]]F: There's a part of me that fears if this is the case because I would hate for them to become more experiments for my "creator".3.If one or both of your parents are dead when and how did they die?4.Who raised you after your parents died?5.Do you have any siblings?S: No.Z: [[Undetermined at this time.]]F: Yes. A sister.

11.What social class is your character from?S: I suppose you could say we're middle class. Social status is different in the forest than it is in the cities.Z: Being a soldier... sorry, former soldier... I'm pretty high up there on the social ranking.F: Apparently I was from a pretty well off family. But since my "creation," I've had to work from the bottom up to where I am today. Lower middle class, perhaps?12.How has their upbringing affected their world view? S: I suppose you could say I was a bit sheltered. So, some aspects of the world are shocking to me.Z: Through my travels as a soldier, I've seen quite a few different societies. Overtime you become numb to this and just look at everything from a neutral stance. If something benefits me, then good. If not, no biggie.F: Because of what I am and what I looked like right after my "creation," I only saw the hatred and cold reactions from people. So I don't trust others very well... and typically assume the worst.13.How did your character get started in their chosen class? S: Right place, right time.Z: Coming from a respectable family and being recognized for my strengths and skills, it wasn't long before I was signed up to join the king's army.F: Pretty much the only place that would accept me for who I was with no questions.14.Does your character have any heroes or inspirational figures? S: Keyleth - a half-elf and the Voice of the Tempest of the Air AshariZ: [[Unsure at this time.]]F: [[Undetermined at this time.]]15.Does your character have any significant personal items? S: I suppose my staff. It's nothing special... but I love the look of it.Z: My sword. Despite being discharged with dishonor from the army, I was still allowed to keep it. Probably because it was customized just for me. Still... it's nice to still have a connection to who I was.F: A journal that belonged to my creator. It's how I came to know what I was... and who I had been.

I got to play a D&D one shot with some of my Critter (fans of Critical Role) friends last night after work. It was a lot of fun! And I even got to play as my actual character this time rather than choosing a pre-generated character that matched best to her ((back when I was still designing her)).

So there was me (Shanairra, a Wood Elf Cleric), a female Halfling Bard named Mag the Magnificent ("Maggie" to her friends), and Rowl, a male Norwegian Forest Tabaxi Barbarian. Even though our characters were only joining up in this one adventure, we already established a team name - "The Daring Drei". "Drei" is the German word for "three." It was inspired by the group name of the second campaign of Critical Role - the Mighty Nein.

This one-shot ended up being quite beneficial for me because it helped me establish more of my character's personality, tone of voice ((definitely Galadriel inspired)), and random little quirks she has (such as preferring ciders or mead as her alcohol of choice and often likes to drink tea).
