Olivia gave a yawn as she settled into her seat, just barely lifting her hand up to cover her mouth as she did so. Tears pricked her eyes and, as she reached up to wipe them away, she turned around to face Vince as he asked about Haxorus. "Oh, no. That was just a wild Haxorus, it started following Poppy and Cayenne around," she explained. She forgot she'd never revealed to her friend that the dragon that had been following them for a good portion of the fair had been wild. "I can't say she's officially mine, since she seems to be uncertain about a few things; for now this is just... easier transportation." Though the ride back to Lumoise was a long one Olivia couldn't say she truly minded, using that time to relax and chat more with Vince. When they finally arrived Olivia waited until the train had come to a complete stop before standing to her feet, chuckling as Vince wobbled to his feet. "Hey, you could've stopped at anytime~" she reminded him, grinning wide as she stepped off the train with the brunette.
The pinkette gave one, long, upwards stretch once she'd stepped onto the platform, relieving herself of her stiff muscles and numb limbs. Once done she headed with Vince to the pokecenter, her mind briefly occupied by the thoughts of a bed and sleep. "Hm?" Olivia chuckled at Vince's suggestion, turning her head to the side so that she could properly look at him. "I wouldn't mind. I doubt we'd have to fight over who got the bed this time," she joked before she turned her eyes upwards towards the night sky. She listened to Vince talk with reflective silence, sky blue orbs flickering across the dark expanse above them before she finally looked back down. "You're welcome Vince." Olivia offered him a smile before she reached out to take his hand, swinging it lightly with hers. "Today was all about relaxing and having fun, so I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. We should do this more often," she paused, thinking her words over, then chuckled. "...Well, maybe not drink more often. But, we should take more opportunities to relax," she suggested, head turning to face forward once more as they drew closer to the pokecenter.

Vince nodded lightly as Olivia explained her situation with the haxorus. "They're a very friendly species generally, unless you intrude on their territory unwelcome." He mused. "That's how Chéng lost his eye." He grimaced. "She'll be a great companion for you though if she decides to stick around." When they got off the train though, Vince complained that he couldn't believe he'd let Olivia give him so much to drink. She teased him back though, insisting that he could have stopped whenever he'd wanted. "Haha yeah alright, you've got me there." He chuckled. When the conversation slipped away into silence, Vince's thoughts went to the pokemon center, and he jokingly suggested that they share a room. He wasn't actually serious, but Olivia suggested that she actually wouldn't mind, which made it all the more surprising for Vince. "Huh? W-wait.... Really?" He blinked. "I-I was just joking haha.... But... I guess I wouldn't mind either...." He admitted, laughing as Olivia suggested that they wouldn't have to fight over who got the bed this time. "To be honest, I'm still a little uncomfortable with it, but.... I don't want to leave you yet..." He suggested with a nervous chuckle.
He then went on to thank Olivia again for the fun trip and gifts. This had turned out to be a pretty good birthday after all. When Olivia suggested that they should do this more often, minus the alcohol though, Vince shook his head and laughed. "Yeah, I agree. I don't think I could afford to drink this much that often. It would be too dangerous." He blathered. "I feel pretty relaxed just being with you though... When you aren't annoying me." He smirked. Walking into the pokemon center, Vince approached the counter. "Good evening Nurse Joy~ Can we get a room?" Vince asked politely. Nurse Joy obliged, handing them each a room key for the same room. Thanking the nurse, Vince made his way over to their room and opened the door, letting Olivia in first before following in after her. "Are you sure you don't mind this...? I mean...." He hesitated, laughing nervously. "It's not that I try to.... I just...." He hesitated. "Heh... I guess I just don't want to make you uncomfortable in the likely event that I do anything stupid....." He admitted with a simpering smile.
Olivia, opening her mouth to make a remark on Vince's information, paused and pulled a face when he added in that encroaching onto a Haxorus' territory was exactly how his older brother, Chenge, had lost an eye. "I think she will too," she agreed, putting the gory image her mind had conjured up away. Once their train came to a stop the two stood to leave, Vince stumbling in the process. This prompted the male to lament on how Olivia had made him drink too much, unwilling to take the blame, however, she teasingly reminded him how he could've stopped at any time. "I'm glad you've seen the light," she joked. Once officially in the city Olivia turned to Vince, taking into account of how he'd had difficulty getting out of the train by himself; it was best to wait until he was ready to start moving again. Before that, however, Vince suggested sharing a room once they got to the pokecenter and, although obviously joking, the pinkette agreed, she certainly didn't mind. Olivia grinned, and then laughed, when Vince admitted to the same thing. "Look at that, get a little alcohol in you and suddenly you turn into Romeo~" She'd, more or less, gotten used to those sort of comments Vince made; that being said... she still couldn't help becoming surprised, hearing them.
Olivia chuckled before nodding slowly along with Vince's words, her mind falling to the other issues drinking too often would bring. "For both our bodies and our wallets," she pointed out, humor intermingled into her tone. With a wide grin the woman placed a hand to her chest, morphing her expression into one of shock. "Me? Annoying? Say it isn't so!" Well... maybe she could think of just a few instances when she might've been a tad bothersome; but they were just so few and far between~ Rather than joining Vince at the counter Olivia simply waited, stepping forward only to take her room key from Nurse Joy when she handed them out. She gave a silent nod of thanks before following after Vince, looking absently at their surroundings before they reached their room. "Yup. I'm fine with it," Olivia assured the brunette as she stepped into the room, holding back from slipping out of her shoes immediately. "Just as long as you promise not to peek at me in the shower, or anything like that, we'll be fine." Olivia chuckled before she walked back over to pat Vince's shoulder. "It'll be fine, don't worry so much~" A moment of silence passed between the two before a thought registered in the woman's mind. "Should we shower first before heading to grab something to eat, or just go ahead?" she asked, her stomach choosing that moment to let her know it was empty, a growl becoming audible.

Vince noticed the look on Olivia's face when he'd thoughtlessly mentioned Chéng's experience with haxorus and felt bad. "Ah, sorry, sorry.... Didn't mean to disgust you." He laughed sheepishly. "Dragons are just nasty business.... Creatures to be both feared and respected. All of my older family has some kind of scar or story to tell. To be honest, I'm surprised that I don't...." He simpered, then insisted that the haxorus would make good travel companion for Olivia to try and lighten the mood a bit. Olivia agreed, and the subject was moved past onto other things, like being dizzy or how they probably drank too much, or what they would do for rooming. When Olivia suggested that a little alcohol turned Vince into a Romeo though, he gave Olivia a look of mock offense. "Hey, I'll have you know that I can be very romantic without being drunk. I just have to.... Actually be in a relationship with someone, otherwise it feels inappropriate." He mumbled. Being drunk removed that condition though, so right now he had no filter, saying just about anything that came to mind.
They deemed that relaxing together would be nice, though in the future the drinking should be kept to a minimum. Otherwise though, Vince admitted that it was pretty relaxing just to be with the pinkette, when she wasn't being annoying. Now it was Olivia's turn for mock offense, which made Vince grin. "I think it's part of your charm, so don't take it too personally." Vince insisted with a chuckle. Once they got a room, Vince checked in with Olivia again to make sure she was really okay with staying together in the same room. When she suggested that it was fine as long as he didn't sneak a peek at her in the shower, Vince blushed and shook his head, holding his hands up defensively. "Absolutely not...!" He insisted, even though he was aware she was half joking, he still felt the need to make it clear that he would never try something stupid like that. He relaxed as she patted his shoulder and said that it would be fine, though when she brought up the matter of food Vince looked thoughtful. "We should probably drop our things off here and go get something to eat, that way no one faints of hunger in the shower." He suggested with a laugh.
Healing Lairon up again Poochyena came over and nuzzled the heavier Pokemon. Lairon smiled happily at the extra attention. Suddenly a wild Skitty appeared, it was a Pokemon that Simon didn't have just yet but not one he'd be actively training right away. Deciding that it would be happy at home he decided to go ahead and at least try to catch the Pokemon. Once again Poochyena switched out letting Lairon take charge and with his fighting attack he took Skitty out really quickly. "Skitty the kitten Pokemon. Skitty is known to chase around playfully after its own tail. In the wild, this Pokemon lives in holes in the trees of forests. It is very popular as a pet because of its adorable looks."

Upon hearing Vince's apology Olivia initially raised an eyebrow, unsure at first at what he was 'sorry' for. "Oh, no. You don't need to apologize," she insisted and then sunk back into her chair. "I've heard worse. It's just a bit.. surprising is all. I feel bad for your brother though." When he began to explain that all the older members of his family bore scars from a dragon she couldn't help but to frown, clearly worried about that fact. "Maybe it's just luck?" she suggested. Sure, it wasn't the most optimistic answer, but it was certainly the most realistic. "But hey, I've heard scars are sexy; if you ever get one I'm sure you'll drive the women wild." With that 'bright side' revealed the two continued on with their conversation, Olivia agreeing that the Haxorus currently residing in her temporary pokeball would make a good companion, then to the effects of their heavy drinking, their stay for the night, and then circling back to the effects of drinking: the pinkette teasingly pointing out how much more affectionate Vince became once he had a bit of alcohol in him. "Oh? Well, don't I feel special then; I get a preview of what you're like in a relationship." With a chuckle the she leaned over to gently nudge Vince.
Just being around Vince had been nice enough, the additional inclusion of alcohol had just increased both their enjoyment. As fun as it had been, however, they both agreed that, in the future, as much fun as simply hanging out with each other was they couldn't always include the second half, the alcohol portion, to it. Olivia chuckled before she rolled her eyes at Vince's insistence that being annoying was 'part of her charm'. "Well aren't you just the master of compliments," she remarked with a, playful, roll of the eyes.
It wasn't long before they'd been given their keys and entered the room for the night, Vince opening up by asking Olivia if she was certain of her decision about sharing the room. Vince nodded lightly as Olivia insisted he didn't need to apologize, since she had heard worse. "Still, it was a bit...." His face made an expression that was some sort of cross between a simper and a grimace. He really needed to think before he spoke, but it was all just slipping out of his mouth due to the alcohol. It wasn't like he was going to reveal his deepest secrets, but he was certainly being more careless with his words that he would normally be. "Ehh don't feel too bad for him; he got a lifelong partner pokemon out of it and he looks super cool with an eyepatch~ If you asked him, he wouldn't change anything." Vince grinned. Though thinking about the scars that his older brothers and parents had received, Vince had to wonder how he'd managed to make it this far without any serious accidents. Olivia suggested that it was luck, and Vince chuckled halfheartedly. "I don't believe in luck... Good results come from hard work. I guess I've just managed to train hard enough to avoid getting into any accidents." He murmured, though when Olivia suggested that scars were attractive to women, Vince seemed to shrink, his face growing red. "I don't think that's a good enough reason to get a scar, though I'm pretty sure that's how Jian uses his. Besides, I don't want to attract hoards of women, I'd rather just find the right one to spend my life with...." Vince sighed and gave Olivia a tired smile.
Speaking of romance, Vince had to defend himself against Olivia's claims, insisting that he could be romantic without alcohol if her were in a relationship with someone. Though that only made Olivia comment about feeling special that she was getting a preview of what he was like in a relationship. Vince looked away with an embarrassed grin, swaying away from her when she nudged him before straightening out again. "Well.... I can't argue with that." He admitted. They both talked about how fun it had been, relaxing together like this, though Vince insisted that Olivia was fun to be with even without the addition of alcohol, when she wasn't being annoying. He softened the blow by insisting that her annoying side was part of her charm, but Olivia still seemed mildly irritated as she rolled her eyes and sarcastically commented that Vince was just the master of compliments. "Heh, hey, you were the one who said you didn't want any more genuine compliments from me." He pointed out with a grin.
Once they had gotten their room reserved and moved inside it, Vince made sure once again that Olivia was okay with their rooming situation, and promised that he wouldn't do anything like sneaking peeks of her in the shower. She knew this of course, having only been teasing him, and afterwards they decided to eat first before showering, dropping their things off in the room before making their way down to the cafeteria. "Yeah... It certainly helps struggling trainers, and its nice even for the successful ones." Vince agreed, moving down the buffet alongside Olivia and grabbing some protein and pokefood for his dragons as well as a sandwich for himself. Noting the cake that Olivia had grabbed, Vince glanced curiously at the pinkette. "You like sweets?" He asked. "Heh, I'll keep that in mind; I can give you any that I get." He suggested. He was somewhat surprised that her sweet tooth didn't come up when he mentioned his dislike of them.

Before he could climb on someone shouted at him, "What do you think you're doing?" a female voice cried out. Turning Simon saw a trainer wearing a frown on her face. That was really annoying, Crystal's Luxray using roar over and over and even though Dusknoir came out and dealt some good damage Luxray roared again. Finally Yveltal came out and she was stunned by its sheer power. Another fact was that Yveltal asked for one of his Crystal Shards to make it shiny as well. The unique coloring was enough to confuse Luxray into not roaring again and Yveltal defeated it with a dragon rush. Once Luxray was returned so was Yveltal for Poochyena and then Lairon to train up. Since her next Pokemon was normal Simon told Lairon to focus on his fighting attack.

Though she didn't speak the face Olivia pulled showed that she understood what Vince was trying to get at, then reached a hand out to pat his hand understandingly. It certainly wasn't pleasant to hear that someone had lost their eye to a dragon, no matter the sort of content you'd been exposed to prior. Still, there was some relief to know that this tale, with its gory start, had a positive turn. "Well, hey. There's a happy ending if I've ever heard one," she joked. When With the mention of scars Vince reflected on how he'd yet to receive one himself, which prompted Olivia to suggest that he'd had luck on his side. "Mm, that's true," she agreed. "But, there are some instances where hard work can only get you so far. Being in the right place at the right time, or vice versa." Moving to a more cheerful topic Olivia couldn't help but to chuckle when Vince blushed at her suggestion that, if he ever were to receive a scar, he'd attract more women. "Of course it isn't, but you need to make the best out of a bad situation, and if women just so happen to like a man with a scar... then hey." Olivia chuckled. "I get you though, the whole monogamy thing, it's very admirable." It was also adorable, but she didn't want to get Vince too red.
That being said, she just couldn't help but poke fun of him every now-- every chance she could get. The next opportunity that presented itself was when she teased him for only being romantic when he was drunk, Vince quick to defend himself. "Nope, you can't~" she sang, pleased that she had managed to embarrass Vince once more; she was getting good at it. When Vince admitted that he enjoyed Olivia's company when she wasn't being annoying she grew playfully offended, then derisive when he almost immediately added that her habit of being annoying was part of her charm. "Pfft," she simply snorted when he pointed out that she had been the one who'd asked him to stop with his other compliments, the ones that made her face turn almost as pink as her hair. "You got me there."
After the two had gotten settled in, dropping their things off in their designated room and assuring that there were boundaries set in place, the two moved into the cafeteria to grab food for themselves and their pokemon. They stepped into the buffet line, and while piling her tray with food for herself Olivia commented on how resourceful and helpful the pokecenter was to traveling trainers. "Exactly. I can't imagine the kind of journey most would have if it weren't for facilities like these." As hungry as she was, she made sure to grab enough food for her pokemon as well, it'd do no good to just feed herself. At the same time, she couldn't help but treat herself: grabbing a piece of cake. She chuckled at Vince's observation and gave a nod, stopping herself from dragging her finger over the icing of the cake and sticking that into her mouth. "Well now you're just spoiling me," she teased, though she certainly wasn't rejecting the offer. "Deal. I'll do the same for any spicy foods I come across." Truly, this was one of the benefits to having a friend: being able to trade each other food.

Vince nodded in agreement when Olivia suggested that at least Chéng had a happy ending to his story, though a frustrated expression crossed his face. "Yeah... He gets the dragon, the girl, the attention...." Vince thought aloud with a frown. "I don't want to be envious of him, but it's really hard not to be at times. He makes it look and seem so.... Easy. I know he's not perfect, but he's pretty damn close." Vince rubbed his face and sighed. "Sorry, I don't know where that came from. I really respect Chéng, but it's hard being compared to him." He mumbled. "I kind of envy you too, being the oldest. You don't have to worry about being born under shadows." Vince chuckled.
Talking of family and shadows, Vince commented on the fact that he hadn't gotten any scars. Olivia tossed it up to luck, but Vince took the stance that luck didn't exist. "Being at the right place at the right time is coincidence, not luck." Vince insisted with a light chuckle. "I didn't think you would be the superstitious type. This will be intriguing." He grinned. Just because he didn't believe in those types of things didn't mean that he wasn't interested in hearing about it, or having a healthy debate. When Olivia suggested that having a scar would attract more women though, it flustered Vince. The idea of women swarming to him over some scar was.... Unsettling. "That's.... I don't think I would see that as a bonus.... More like a nightmare...." Vince mumbled, giving a simpering smile. It wasn't that he feared women, but he certainly felt uncomfortable with the idea of strangers approaching and flirting with him. "I mean, I don't know if you noticed, little miss "let me dress up in a kimono for you sometime~", but I don't exactly react well to strangers flirting with me." He laughed, nudging her a bit.
He was glad at least that she respected his morals. They joked around a bit about flirting and romantics and alcohol, and eventually they made it to the pokemon center to get a room and drop off their things. Once they made it to the cafeteria, Vince and Olivia began filling their plates for a late dinner. Vince couldn't help but notice the cake Olivia had nabbed and comment on it. It was somewhat a relief to know that she liked sweets, since he could just give her any that he came across. "It's only fair, since you spoiled me with all those tickets." He suggested with a grin, laughing a bit as she offered to give him any spicy food she found in return. "What are we, back in pre-trainer school, trading lunches?" Amused as he was by the idea, he was hungry, and he was certain that his pokemon were too, so he set up their dinners and let the dragons out of their pokeballs before sitting down and eating his own dinner.
Thinking they'd returned to a more positive conversation Olivia couldn't help but to raise an eyebrow when Vince went off, lamenting on how his brother appeared to be perfect. "It's fine," she assured when Vince apologized for going off on his small tangent. "It's only natural to feel a little envy towards those who are more successful." Olivia tilted her head to the side then pursed her lips, considering Vince's words when he pointed out that, being the eldest, she didn't have to live underneath anyone's shadow. "Mm, I guess. But being the oldest isn't the easiest either," Olivia admitted before emitting a remorseful laugh. "You've got to be the one who sets the example, and always responsible. It's hard enough with just my little brother, I can't imagine how Cheng must feel, having to be the example for four younger siblings," she sympathized.
Olivia couldn't say she was too surprised that Vince didn't believe in luck, he seemed the type to believe in just hard, concrete facts, tangible things, and anything he could measure. Which, of course, was fine, she was like that in some ways as well. "I'm not superstitious per se," she defended. It was... hard to explain, at least for her. "But, I suppose I'm not against having a discussion about it every so often." Moving on from the subject of their beliefs they talked more about the aesthetic appeal a scar had, and the success one had in attracting women, though it was clear Vince wasn't all too interested in the idea. "A nightmare?" Olivia snorted in amusement before she held her hands up in mocking defense. "Hey, hey. I was just trying to be nice," she insisted, though she held a wide grin. "I suppose you do have a point though. So... no scars for you. I guess you don't need one anyway, you'll attract women just fine without one." Though as uncomfortable as Vince was it, the idea of him being swarmed by women... was it bad that she found the idea so funny?
Once the two arrived at the pokecenter and grabbed their room for the night, the next place the two headed for was the cafeteria, grabbing dinner for themselves and their pokemon before calling it a night. Olivia's interest in a slice of cake sparked their next topic of conversation, the pinkette admitting to having something of a sweet tooth right before Vince offered to give her any sweets he came across from then on. "Naah, that was something totally different," Olivia insisted when Vince brought up her generous donation of tickets to him back at the fair. "That was for your birthday, and you certainly had more of a use for them than I did." After suggesting that she'd do the same thing for him, keep an eye out for any sort of spicy foods, Olivia chuckled before she shrugged. "Hey, hey. If you don't want to take me up on my offer that's fine with me. I was just trying to be nice~" Settling herself at a table next to Vince Olivia made certain to set up her pokemon's food before she sent them out. Though rather than start eating herself Olivia sat herself down in her chair and kept an eye out as her pokemon ate. There were a few pokemon, like that Torchic, that she felt she needed to keep her full attention on.

"Hm.... You're right. I never really thought much about that." Vince said thoughtfully. "Though I guess that's because he makes it look and seem so easy. I know it's not, but..." Vince frowned and shook his head. There was no need to go on with that subject; Olivia had already insisted that it was understandable, so he moved on to the topic of scars and luck. Olivia insisted that she wasn't superstitious per se, though she did believe in luck. Vince considered it. "So, not superstitious, but you believe in outside forces, such as luck and fate?" He suggested, trying to help her clarify where exactly she stood on that matter, since she seemed to be struggling. That and he was curious as well.
The idea that scars would attract more women to him made Vince want to be even more careful to make sure he didn't get cut in the future when handling his dragons. Olivia seemed rather amused that the idea of being swarmed with women was his nightmare, and Vince gave Olivia a pained smile. "I'm so glad you're amused...." He sighed, chuckling when Olivia defended that she had offered to dress in a kimono to be nice. "Liv, if that's your idea of being nice, then I appreciate it, but please don't make that suggestion to anyone else.... Most guys would jump at that sort of offer like wild mightyena....." Vince insisted, crossing his arms and looking rather annoyed and distressed by the unpleasant thought. She really worried him sometimes. At least she conceded that his point, but when she suggested that he'd attract women even without a scar, Vince tensed. "That doesn't make me feel any better, but thank you for the compliment." He simpered. He didn't want to attract women, at least not in the chick magnet way. He just wanted to have normal relations with them, like he was with Olivia.
When they made it into the cafeteria, Vince was amused to find that Olivia loved sweets just as much as he did not. "Even so, I want to spoil you." Vince retorted with a chuckle when Olivia argued that her ticket giving had been a different issue altogether. He was also amused by the suggestion of trading over sweets and spicy foods to each other. "No no," Vince laughed. "I want to, it's just funny to me." He insisted. "I would be happy to trade sweets for spicy food." With that, they sat down and began to eat, or rather Vince ate and Olivia stared at her pokemon. "Is everything alright....?" He asked, following her gaze to the torchic curiously.
Meanwhile, Xiu Feng stared at the blue lupup across the way. She wasn't aware of another lupup being here! Though, last time she had encountered one of her own kind, it hadn't been a pleasant experience, so as excited as she was to approach Blue at first, she quickly hesitated, hopping up into Vince's lap and nearly made him drop his burger. "Xiu Feng...! Be careful..." Vince said sternly, frowning. "What's the meaning of this....?" He murmured, curious. She was never really the cuddly type, but she pawed around in his lap, whining a bit and looking between him and Blue. "Ah... You should probably wait Xiu Feng.... I'm not sure he is quite ready to accept who he is just yet...." Vince chuckled, rubbing her cheek. "You were born under my parent's Lunarch, you have had the luxury of knowing who you are, rather than a confused identity." He tried to explain, though it was probably a hard concept for her to grasp.
Olivia pursed her lips gently, considering Vince's words as he continued to talk about his brother, going on about how, even with the added responsibility beset to every older sibling, he still managed to make it seem easy. "Hey, you've got some things going for you too," she insisted, not wanting Vince to make himself smaller in his brother's shadow. "He's got his strengths and you've got yours." With her opinion shared Olivia relaxed, crossing her arms lightly as she considered Vince's gentle suggestion, his attempt to better elaborate on an explanation even she wasn't sure how to get across. "Mmm, yeah." The pinkette nodded, relieved that Vince was able to understand. "Not so much fate though; nothing's set in stone, y'know?" At least... she hoped he knew.
She was still fighting with a grin, however, at the mere image of Vince being surrounded by women, all pining for him. Of course, he didn't find the humor in such a situation. "Don't worry, Vinny." Olivia stretched up to pat Vince's cheek, since it wasn't as if she could ruffle his hair. "You can just hide behind me. I'll protect you," she promised, giving a playful wink afterwards. Olivia gave a half-smile at Vince's advice, her facial features relaxing to show her appreciation. "Thank you for the advice, but you don't need to worry." She couldn't help but to chuckle at the look that crossed the brunette's face, and after a moment she reached over to poke his cheek. "You're the only one I've ever offered that to." Olivia gave up trying to convince Vince that a scar would only benefit him, though she was quick to point out that the dragon tamer wouldn't need a scar to attract women. That didn't seem to help though. "You're welcome!" It was a roundabout way of calling Vince handsome, and even though he didn't appreciate it, or at least didn't appreciate the idea of his looks getting him attention, he at least thanked her.
It was when they had arrived in the cafeteria, and had gotten in the buffet line, that Olivia found herself at a loss for words, at least momentarily, when Vince admitted that he wanted to spoil her. She took a moment to register his words, and afterwards she broke out into a small smile. "You're too sweet. Maybe I should trade this cake in for you," she joked. When Vince questioned the idea of swapping foods, sweet for spicy, Olivia assured him that they didn't have to, she had nothing against spicy food and would happily any dish she came across. "Glad to hear it. As of now this verbal contract is instated." With their food taken care of the two found a seat and released their pokemon to eat, Olivia putting a pause on her own dinner to make sure everything went well with her team. "Yeah..." she started slowly when Vince checked in on her. And things were going well, for now. Torchic seemed more intent on eating than attacking anyone, but she'd stop from time to time to glare warily at the others.
Torchic wasn't the only tense one, for the first few minutes Blue had been too busy investigating his food, to check for poison, to even eat. It took Licorice taking a scoopful of her own food, chewing, and then nudging him before the Lupup submitted and took a careful mouthful. After, thoroughly, chewing Blue found that his food wasn't poisonous and, in fact, quite tasty. With a slight wag of the tail he bent down to continue eating, though he stopped immediately when he felt eyes on him. He looked up, his ears perking up when he saw Xiu Feng. That... she looked exactly like him! His tail began to wag faster and he took a step towards Xiu Feng, though came to a halt when she jumped into Vince's lap. He retreated back to Licorice, unwilling to confront the human.. especially not after he'd told him that Licorice wasn't his real mom, and with a soft whine he ducked his head back down to finish eating. He wanted to ask his mom if what Vince had said was true, but... not now.

Vince gave a tired smile as Olivia insisted that he and Chéng had different strengths and weaknesses. "Yes... Yes, you're right...." He agreed with a nod. Deep down he knew it was true, but there were times when it was hard to believe. As the subject moved to luck and superstition, Vince tried to help Olivia figure out how to properly explain what she believed in. Outside forces seemed to be acceptable to her, though she didn't believe in fate since nothing was set in stone. Vince nodded lightly in agreement at that. He was certainly a believer of being able to forge one's own path. It didn't seem he would be able to escape Olivia's verdict of being swarmed by girls, though. Vince grumbled lightly as Olivia assured him that she would protect him. He didn't really like being belittled in such a way, and he had already told her how he didn't like being called Vinny, but at the moment he was too tired and inebriated to actually make any kind of argument, so he simply grumbled his objection and let it die. Olivia was just kidding around anyways; he knew she meant no harm.
Still, it was obvious Vince was no lady's man. While he had his attractive traits, he did not do well with attention or crowds. This much was obvious to Olivia due to their first interactions, given Olivia's flirtatious comments and Vince's aversion to them, especially the kimono suggestion. In fact, Vince felt the need to voice his concerns with such behavior, given that most men would try to take advantage of some suggestions. He tried not to think about Jian, but his womanizer of a brother quickly crept his way into Vince's mind. Olivia assured him once again, however, that he didn't need to worry as she poked his cheek and mentioned that he was the only one she'd made the offer to. Vince's sour expression melted away into an embarrassed surprise at that. "I am....? Oh, well.... G-good......." Vince mumbled with a sharp nod, shifting his gaze away. He was glad she wasn't offering such things to any man she met. It wasn't becoming of her. Yes. That was the reason he felt happy. Vince was glad they could drop the subject on how attractive he was to women. He knew Olivia was just trying to compliment him, but Vince simply couldn't see attracting hordes of women as a positive thing.
When they reached the cafeteria, Vince was happy to find that Olivia had a sweet tooth. Now he knew who to give any of his unwanted sweets to. Olivia wasn't quite sure about the proposition, though, given that showering her in sweets would only spoil her, but Vince sheepishly admitted he somewhat wanted to spoil her. Olivia seemed quite happy with that, though when she suggested that Vince was sweet enough to replace her cake, Vince nearly choked. "Ah... I don't think I'm a good substitute for cake. Perhaps you should stick with the buffet." He insisted, agreeing instead to trade any sweets he obtained for spicy ones Olivia managed to find. That seemed like a fairer trade at least. With that settled, Vince sat down at one of the tables and began eating, though he noticed that Olivia was paying more attention to her pokemon than her food, so Vince felt obligated to check in and make sure all was well. Olivia insisted that she was fine, and slowly began to work through her meal, though she still checked in on her torchic every now and again. Vince couldn't blame her. He hadn't witnessed when she'd obtained the torchic, but he was fairly certain it was the cause behind her smelling like burning garbage after they were reunited.
When Blue had taken notice of Xiu Feng, she was rather happy, tail wagging at the same frequency as his. However, while she was a fearless, outgoing pup she was a bit unsure how to approach Blue. The last experience and attempt at friendship with another lupup had ended rather poorly, and while it wasn't any detriment to Xiu Feng's confidence, she didn't want to mess up. She knew she was sheltered, and she had the luxury of a purebred lunarch family, and so it was difficult to interact with others of her kind. Vince's words and Blue's reaction after she had jumped into Vince's lap only further proved that this matter was complicated, and Xiu Feng gave a frustrated huff, hopping off of Vince for now. She had intended to go back to her bowl, but she hesitated, looking at Blue again, and then padding back and forth, clearly conflicted. Vince took notice, chuckling lightly. Xiu was a very.... Interesting lupup. She was so independant that she often separated herself from other pokemon, but it was clear at times like these that she wanted companionship; she just didn't know how to be social. "If you want to talk to him that badly, then go ahead. Just don't press him about species." Vince suggested. It wouldn't be a bad thing for the two lupup to interact, Vince just knew that Xiu Feng could be.... Stubborn and persistent, like him. Perhaps that was why they worked so well together.
With Vince's blessing, Xiu Feng yipped and scampered over to Blue happily, but she wouldn't interrupt his meal. She knew better than that. At first, she laid out on the floor behind him, waiting patiently for him to notice her first. When Blue took too long though (read: 5 seconds), Xiu Feng rolled over on her back and made an impatient whining noise.
