Egan Savage Egan froze when Wind started to speak again and he heard more about what had transpired. He felt a few tears slide down his face as he heard what had happened to Desha. Desha had been the one to heal him after his father had found them and he'd been forced to fight him in the burning home. Desha was the first to show him the kindness that had helped him to pull himself back from the edge of rage and despair. And Desha had been the only one to find out about his preference for men and had helped him come to terms with it. Hearing that he was gone was like a punch to the gut.
"No one in the village was told that Desha was killed," he whispered, horrified by the words he was speaking. "No one was told much about what happened at all. We thought that all of you were in pretty rough shape because of them, but we weren't told how far it went. No one in the village knows how bad it was. And it'll break all of their hearts to find out that he's dead. Like you said, everyone loved Desha. Hearing that they tortured you both by hurting you and then breaking his curse so that he died without being able to heal you would destroy them all. I guess I know why Cassius didn't give many details now."
He took a deep breath to steady himself and looked over Wind again. "Is there anything that I can do to help you stabilize your shifts? Anything at all? It doesn't matter what it is. Let me know if there's something I can do and I'll do it." Hearing about what had happened with the thwarted attack had sent Egan's world spinning. He hadn't found out about the attack soon enough to help anyone before it had already been handled. He hadn't known what they'd lost. But now he knew, and he wanted to do whatever he could to help ease the pain of the ones who had survived the ordeal. He just hoped that Wind would let him.

Wind guided Egan through massaging the muscles in his legs until they stopped cramping then laid there gasping from the relief for a moment as he explained a bit more, "No one else knows that Desha's gone. Just me and Dancer. Somehow, Desha was able to hold onto his spirit enough to help Dancer get to the Demon Realm, but couldn't hold it past that. You're the first one here that knows," he explained that part then moved on, somehow knowing that Egan would hold onto the information until it could be safely released. In truth, if the village knew that they didn't have a healer, they'd panic. And everyone would have a massive crying-fest over Desha's death and the mage wouldn't have wanted that. He'd have wanted a celebration of his life, not devestation over his death... "As for the other... It would depend on how dominant you are and how far you're willing to go. My animals need tamed and my demon needs to be put in its place. My wolf needs comforting right now. It just wants to crawl under the bed and cower. My cat needs an attitude adjustment. It wants to go out and kill everything in sight. And my demon has never been handled. It's taking my current weakness as an excuse to take me over and try to get out to seduce half the village and the rest of the castle..." he explained that part and hoped that Egan didn't blush easily. Even for Demonicus, Wind and Blade's demonic forms were throwbacks to the original demons that had seduced their collective ancestors and gave birth to their race. They were little more than the original primitive beings that only thought with the brains in their pants and went on semi-destructive paths to get to it. Which was why there were scorch marks on his walls and furniture... He'd managed to take back control every time he'd taken his demonic form and pulled back. But the result was bursts of fire that could have been much worse... "With my forms conflicted, and me just wanting to lay down here and die, I can't heal and I can't move forward. I'd Mated with Aten because I loved him and he was a sassy sweetness that I needed at the time. He was never the most dominant partner and we'd mutually decided on leaving my demonic form alone. I would have needed a full-blood incubus to pull it to heel and Lareth couldn't find anyone he felt was up to the task of me and my sister. So I guess you could say that the problem has been simmering ever since," he added, wanting to explain why he'd never been tamed and why Egan shouldn't think less of Aten for it. What he was talking about was a tall order. And it explained why he was making sure that he was left alone... After all, his demon form could kill so easily...

Egan Savage Egan was silent as he massaged Wind's leg to help with the cramp and listened to Wind explaining that he was the only one to find out about Desha's death so far. That explained a lot. Dancer and Wind were the only ones that knew, but they were also the worst off and not capable of letting anyone know right now. "I think it's best that we keep what happened to Desha to ourselves, then," he said. "The village isn't ready to know. And it's not my place to tell them, anyway. Preparations will have to be made to let them know in a way that isn't going to cripple them. Desha never would've wanted his death to destroy everyone in the village."
He listened to the rest of what Wind had to say, carefully considering the situation. He chose his words carefully as he spoke. "I know that I'm dominant enough to handle your cat and wolf. I'm sure of that. And I may not be a full-blooded incubus, but my demon form should give me enough of a boost to keep up with yours. I've been so repressed my whole life that my demon's desires could probably rival yours. But there is something important to consider here before we decided to go forward."
He hesitated for a moment as he looked Wind over again. "If I do this, it won't just end after I help you stabilize this time. If I tame your animals and put your demon in its place, I'll have to stay nearby in order to do it again. Animals need constant shows of dominance, and your demon will start to get restless again after a while. You won't be able to just let this be a one-time thing. Would you be willing to let me help you if it means that I'll have to stay and keep doing it?"

Wind listened again and carefully considered the offer. In the process, he found that he remembered seeing Egan a few times in the village. Each time, Desha had been talking to him. He'd tried to get Desha to play with him once in leopard form but it had been Egan that rubbed his head then playfully shoved him off to play elsewhere. What he remembered most was Egan's strength. It had impressed him at the time. But Dancer had distracted him by tackling him into the fountain. He shook his head to get it back on track and found himself fascinated by the feeling of Egan's hands on his thigh as he massaged the muscles then simply let one hand rest there, letting him feel the skin against skin and the strength in the hand. But he considered it carefully, knowing that it was an offer that he couldn't refuse... He raised his brown eyes to Egan's and responded in the only way he could, "I have to accept... You know that as well as I do..." he whispered softly and swallowed once as he looked at a scorch mark crossed by claw marks on the wall behind Egan and lowered his eyes, "I need help to live... I know that... I can't die, so I need help to live..." he added, still in that soft whisper. Of course, Wind would have to get cleaned up a bit... Maybe a few repairs to the room first... At least the bed... He'd left the bathroom alone...

Egan Savage Egan watched Wind as he waited for an answer. He could tell that Wind's mind seemed to be drifting somewhere else for a moment before he got his thought back on track and debated asking what was on his mind. But before he could ask, Wind was looking at him again and responding that he had to accept, that he couldn't die so he needed help to live. Egan simply nodded as he thought about the best way to phrase what he wanted to say.
After a moment, he finally spoke. "I know that you need help to live," he stated simply. "I know that you don't have a choice but to let me help you to survive. But that wasn't the reason that I had to ask. I was asking because I don't want to force you to live and be trapped in that sort of relationship with someone you hardly know. I've made it clear that I want to do whatever I can to help you. And that's mainly because you've got people that love you and want you to keep going. But I don't want to force you to be stuck with me permanently if you're not sure that you want to live. It would be cruel to force you into it."
Egan looked around the room for a moment and then back down to Wind. "Before we do anything, we should start to get things back into some kind of order. Yours rooms are a mess, and literally all of your furniture is broken except for that one coffee table. If I'm going to help you live, we'll at lest need to fix a few of the things in here. And it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to take at least a quick shower. Which would you prefer to do first?"

Wind looked around the room when he mentioned the condition of it, noting that he'd really done some damage to it, "I'll accept whatever you have to do... I may not want to live, but I was left alive anyway. So living it is... Better you than someone that wouldn't understand... Even if you're simply my Alpha later, I would probably have needed one sooner or later anyway... Maybe later, if needed, you could pick someone for me, if someone proves interested..." he said softly, his voice sounding a bit lost for the moment. He addressed what was needed, he thought. He wasn't expecting this with Egan to be permanent, mainly because he wasn't thinking clearly. As for right now, he wasn't expecting anything more than some basic bullying from Egan to get him going. He certainly wasn't expecting him to stay in his rooms overnight, maybe in the next suite or in another room in the Hall. After a brief hesitation, he rolled to the side of the bed and sat on the edge then reached a hand up to his hair to simply touch it then shook his head slightly, "I'll clean up... Then I'll get the room..." he offered, his voice still soft toned but sounding slightly lost. He hesitated another moment then got to his feet. He wasn't too steady now that he wasn't annoyed or angry, but he still limped into the bathroom and headed for the open shower. He'd never bothered with an enclosed one in here when he'd had the bathroom remodeled, making it easier for him to shower when he was other forms. That and the tub set down into the floor with push-button faucets instead of knobs... He limped over and started the water for the shower then stepped under it and allowed the warm water to soak into his hair. Admittedly, the burns still stung under the water, but they were about to sting more when he used the bathing oil. That was going to really hurt... While he was under the water, he touched into the magic he'd worked so hard to master over his life. It wasn't easy with his forms so conflicted at the moment, but he managed to get it started. Few Demonicus matched him in magic usage, even with his demon out of control. Most were trained in either magic or fighting. Blade was always best in a fight. But Wind was best at magic... On the bed, Egan would be able to see the magic at work. Light flames moved over everything but carried the touch that only the Demonicus carried. The room was repaired as the flames moved through. As the flames moved over Egan, they were pleasantly warm rather than destructive. Well, mostly... Partway through, Wind dropped to his knees with a hand to his head as he gasped softly. He'd managed to get the bedroom fixed but had to stop when a stabbing pain went through his head. The moment he dropped the magic, the pain ended. Yet another symptom of his internal conflicts at the moment. He forced himself to his feet with one hand against the tiled wall and reached for the bathing oil that everyone on the island used, with his carrying the scents of sandalwood and juniper berry. After he got his breath, he started working the oil into his hair, though he wasn't having a whole lot of luck with his bad leg at the moment...

Egan Savage Egan gave a quick nod when he heard Wind saying that he would accept whatever Egan had to do, though he wasn't too thrilled about the way Wind noted that he didn't want to live. It really did make Egan feel like he was forcing Wind into doing something he didn't want to do. But he buried that for now and simply remained silent. It wouldn't really be beneficial to bring that up to Wind. Honestly, he was just happy that Wind had decided to live so that the village didn't have to mourn even more death.
He watched Wind roll to the side of the bed and gave another nod when he heard him mention that he would clean up and then get the room taken care of. He watched Wind walk into the bathroom and gave a soft sigh. Even in his injured state, Wind was gorgeous, and Egan found himself staring a bit. He forced himself to look away before Wind got all the way to the bathroom and tried to figure a few things out. He couldn't deny that he was attracted to Wind, and for very obvious reasons. Not only was Wind beautiful, but he was also had one of the biggest hearts Egan had ever seen and was just a genuinely great person. But the problem was his current state. He had lost his Mate and didn't want to live anymore. It didn't seem likely that Egan would ever get to be more than just the Alpha who helped put him back together.
He was pulled from his thoughts when he noticed the magic moving through the room. He was a bit surprised that the flames didn't cause any real harm, though he did notice that his clothes got a bit singed. He frowned when he noticed the flames stop before they could get past the bedroom and got up to walk into the bathroom to check on Wind. He noticed him gasping and figured that the internal conflict from his animals and demon had made the magic difficult. He saw him get up with difficulty thanks to his bad leg and made the quick decision to help him out. He took off his jacket and stepped into the shower with Wind. "It looks like you could use a bit of help," he said, reaching out to help support him. "I figured that your leg would make it hard to stand up like that, but I decided to sit back and see how you did. But that leg is going to make things a lot harder and more painful for you. So I'll help you stand and get around until we get it healed."

Wind gave a soft gasp when he felt Egan's hand on his back and shifted instantly, his wolf giving a sharp yelp before it sent him scrambling to one corner of the bathroom with his tail tucked tightly under him. Clearly, he hadnt been expecting Egan to show up in the bathroom. He also hadn't been expecting a cold hand on his wet back. At least he'd managed to get clean, even if he hadn't done it to his usual expectations... But now Egan would have to deal with a very beautiful wolf that was beyond rare. He was black with silver ears, muzzle, and paws and silver-tipping to his fur. The silver effect allowed him to almost completely disappear in shadowed lighting and named his species of wolf instantly. They were legendary. Drage Farseer had been the last of his clan and he'd only fathered two children. Blade and Wind were Ghost Wolves... Thankfully, their leopards were basic black leopards and not that unusual. But the last two Ghost Wolves... And Egan had one in front of him now reduced to cowering in a corner...

Egan Savage Egan gasped and stepped back in surprise as Wind suddenly shifted. He blinked a few times as the wolf gave a yelp and immediately ran into the corner with his tail tucked under him. "Sorry," he muttered. "I didn't mean to scare you." He took a moment to examine the wolf more closely and recognized it as a Ghost Wolf instantly. He remembered the way Wind's animals were with the children, so he had never expected to see one cowering in the corner like this.
He stepped back out of the shower and slowly approached the cowering wolf. "You're okay. I'm not going to hurt you." He got close and reached out to gently pet the wolf's head. He was being as gentle as possible, trying to get the wolf to calm down and stop cowering. "You're a pretty wolf, aren't you?" He sat down in front of the wolf as he continued to pet it, taking care not to block it in the corner. It wouldn't be good to make Wind's wolf feel trapped.
He gave the wolf a gentle smile as he petted him. "Come here, pretty wolf." He pulled the wolf into his lap, continuing to pet him and trying to be as comforting as possible. He knew that the Ghost Wolf was beyond rare, with only two left in the world, but that didn't really matter to him in this moment. What mattered was that the wolf was terrified and in desperate need of being comforted. And he really wanted to help him calm down and stop feeling so afraid.

Wind whimpered and shook as Egan approached him, flinched at the first touch as well. But Egan's patience and soothing manner helped him calm down enough that by the time Egan had his head in his lap, he'd stopped shaking and whimpering. He was still very nervous every time Egan touched him to pet him, but he was allowing it. Eventually, he raised his eyes to look up at Egan and revealed that in this formm, his eyes were the green and gold he'd inherited from his father: emerald around the edge and gold around the iris. It was startling to see such brightness coming out of his dark face, but it did make sense when one thought about him and his personality. He was never really one for hiding in the shadows, after all... His leopard form was much more basic, black spots on a black coat with pale brown eyes. It was just more aggressive in personality and had kept him from going out entirely. It took a bit more petting before he calmed enough to shift back to his human form, laying on his stomach with his head laying on the side on Egan's lap and his hair covering his back. Egan's hand wound up petting his hair a few times before he paused and Wind took that as a sign to back off. He pushed himself up with his head down and turned away from Egan in embarrassment, "I'm so sorry... I've never done that before..." he said softly, thinking that he'd also embarrassed Egan with his sudden shifting to wolf form then shifting back naked. Usually, Demonicus got to keep their clothes when they shifted. But since Wind had been in the shower when he'd shifted... Well, at least his hair came back dry... His hair was absolutely beautiful as it spread over his back, the brown color carrying tones of red, amber, and tan. But the surprising highlights under the light in the bathroom were the blue, violet, and even magenta when he moved. His hair was his one real vanity and for him to neglect it in any way showed how far down he'd gotten, even if Egan didn't realize it. But his wolf was calmer than it had been since he'd been taken and he gave a shiver over the feeling, "My wolf is calmer... It hasn't felt like this in a while..." he added, his voice showing a little bit of surprise within the grateful tones. He turned his head to look at Egan over his shoulder but looked down almost instantly, "I really am sorry..." he gave a small shrug of his shoulder over the sudden shift, knowing that explaining it would have been useless. He did try to push on though and started to get to his feet, "I'll go get some clothes on... Hopefully my demon form will let me..." he offered, thinking that his nudity would embarrass Egan. That might also point out to him that Wind had missed Egan's hint that he preferred male company... As Wind got to his feet, he was still a bit unsteady but firmer on his feet than he was before, showing that a more stable form shift had helped his bad leg some, though not all the way just yet. He was limping as he headed out of the bathroom, intending to go to his closet for a pair of shorts at the very least.

Egan Savage Egan never lost that gentle smile as he continued to pet the wolf in his lap. He just continued to pet the wolf gently, occasionally whispering sweet words to help it calm down more. "You have such pretty eyes," he said, unable to stop himself from commenting when he saw the wolf's emerald and gold eyes. "You really are the prettiest wolf I've ever seen. Probably the sweetest one, too. Why would anyone ever be mean to you?"
He continued petting the wolf until Wind suddenly shifted back to human form and pushed himself up. He could tell that Wind was embarrassed over the whole thing, though he really couldn't see why. He'd already told Egan that he was having trouble controlling his shifts, and Egan knew exactly why. So the fact that Wind was embarrassed about it baffled him.
He got a bit distracted before he could say anything, staring at Wind's hair as he got to his feet. He had heard from some of the servants that Wind really loved and took care of his hair normally, and he could see the results despite the mess it was in right now. He heard the mention of going to get clothes on and figured out a bit of what had Wind so embarrassed. He chuckled and got up as he realized that Wind had missed the meaning behind his words earlier.
He quickly caught up to Wind before he could make it to the closet. "Don't worry about it. I don't want your demon to cause you anymore pain. It's not like nudity bothers me. I've been pretending to be a WereWolf for centuries. I had to get over any problems with nudity really quickly." He couldn't resist giving Wind a bit of a teasing smile. "The view is pretty nice, anyway. Why cover it up? But I can undress as well, if that'll help. Like I said, I've never been bothered by nudity." He waited to see Wind's reaction to his tease, hoping that Wind would actually register that he was letting him know that he liked men this time. He hadn't exactly been subtle about it.

Wind paused when Egan caught up with him then hesitated a bit before he caught on. Then he actually blushed. He reached up and tucked a bit of hair behind one ear and looked shyly over his shoulder to make sure that Egan was serious. When he figured out that he was serious, he had to blush again. "Nudity doesn't bother me either... It just makes some others uncomfortable... My sister's never been confortable nude... I've had a few people here uncomfortable whenever someone is nude..." he was babbling a bit and hating that he was so nervous about this. In truth, he'd never made a first move in his life. And without a bit more help with that, he had no idea what to do. Especially since he still wasn't too sure how serious Egan would wind up being after... Wind looked for something to change the subject and could only think about brushing his hair and getting it taken care of. So he swallowed a bit and licked his lips then gestured to the repaired dresser behind Egan, "My brush should be over there... Maybe... Maybe while I'm brushing and braiding my hair, you tell me your name? I never caught it before and we were never introduced before..." he started, hoping that it would give them a starting point. Egan knew Wind's name, obviously. It would been like Desha to say the names of all three cats when they'd played in the village and even added names when they saw them in human form. The kind healer had been a hopeless romantic and always trying to play matchmaker, after all. While Desha wouldn't have set Egan up with Dancer or Dev, he'd have figured out that Wind and Egan were a perfect match... They still had Wind's cat and demon to deal with, but his cat would be the easiest of the bunch. Which left Egan with the demon and the nervous man in front of him...

Egan Savage Egan couldn't stop a soft laugh when Wind finally caught on to what he meant and started to blush and babble a bit. He couldn't help but find Wind rather adorable when he was suddenly so shy and nervous. He could tell from the reaction he'd gotten that Wind didn't know how to make a first move, so it looked like it would be up to him to do. Honestly, he had never made a first move either, since he had been hiding his preference from everyone until he'd finally told Wind. But it seemed that he would have to figure it out.
He noticed Wind trying to change the subject and decided to just go with it. "I'll help you with getting your hair brushed and braided," he said. "It looks like it's gotten really long, so you might need a bit of help." As he spoke, he moved over to the repaired dresser to pick up the brush and then led Wind over toward the repaired bed. He got him to sit down on the bed and then started to brush his hair out for him, taking great care as he did so. "My name is Egan, by the way. Obviously, I already know who you are. Everyone in the village knows who you are. And even if the village didn't know you so well, Desha always made sure that I knew your names when you and your friends came down to the village."
He gave a slightly sad smile as he thought of Desha, the mention of the healer pulling up a few memories. "Desha was the only one who ever knew that I like men. I never told him or anything. He just figured it out on his own and started talking to me about it. When I first figured it out for myself, I felt like there was something wrong with me and tried to deny it. But Desha was always so kind about it. He told me that there was nothing wrong about it, that it was okay to like men. He helped me realize that there's absolutely nothing wrong with my preference for men. He even made a few comments about finding a man for me."
He finished brushing Wind's hair and them made him look at him. "I've taken care of your wolf for now, and I'll be happy to do it again whenever it comes back out. Your cat is next. That one probably shouldn't be too hard. I'm stronger and meaner than it is when I want to be. That just leaves the demon. That one may be a bit trickier, but I think I can handle it. I'll just have to let my own out a bit to match it. But before we get to any of that, I have to ask. Do you just want this to be a temporary relationship until you find someone else? Or would you be interested in possibly trying a real relationship with me now that you know my preference? I think that it's important that we decide on that now, before we go further and the demons come out. It'll effect how we both do things going forward."

Wind went to the bed when Egan led him there then sat down with his back to the male, fairly surprised that he was brushing his hair for him. But the smooth strokes of the brush were relaxing, the male's touch surprisingly gentle with tangles. It kept Wind relaxed enough that he was able to listen and actually pay attention without getting distracted. He still had to consider it, though. "I..." he started then had to pause for a moment before continuing, "I'll be willing to see where it goes... I don't want to make a promise one way or the other then have things fall apart. Right now, I'm still messed up and I'm not really in the right headspace to make permanent decisions. But I'll be willing to give it a try," he offered, hoping that Egan would understand what he meant. He wasn't not attracted, he was simply messed up right now. He needed to get his head back on straight before he was safe for lasting decisions... He finally separated his hair out and put it into a single braid that fell down his back to his knees then bound it off with a strip of leather from his nightstand. At that point, he finally turned to look at Egan properly, suddenly feeling shy and as if he didn't want the male to see everything they'd done to him. His body was a mess: cuts, bruises, burns... They'd really gone at him, but not nearly as bad as they'd gone at Dancer. But he reached up and moved a lock of hair behind his ear and told himself that it was simply that the hair was annoying him. He still hadn't meant to reach out like that and he blushed as he collected his brush and put that on the nightstand, "Thank you... For brushing my hair, I mean..." he added softly, still feeling a bit uncomfortable though he wasn't sure why...

Egan Savage Egan listened to Wind's response as he allowed Wind to get his hair into a single braid. "I understand what you mean," he said. "I know that you aren't really in the right place right now to make a permanent decision about a relationship. I didn't really expect you to be. I really just wanted to see if you may be open to the possibility."
He frowned a bit as Wind turned to face him again, clearly not too happy about the state he was in. "They really went at you. It'll take us a lot of work to get you back into better shape. But we have time. And we still have a cat and a demon to go through. That should help out quite a bit with getting you healed back up more quickly."
He smiled again when a visibly shy Wind thanked him for brushing his hair. "Like I said before, I'm here to help. And it was a nice moment with you. I think that I'll probably be brushing your hair for you quite a bit going forward." He suddenly started to look a bit more serious. "There is something else that we need to talk about, by the way. I've had some brief flings with a few of the men that visited the village from time to time, but I've never really had an actual relationship with anyone. No one in the village knows that I like men. But staying to help you like I want means that I'll have to stop hiding myself from everyone. I'll have to stay in the castle with you so that I can be nearby when you need me, and the people in the village will start to wonder why I'm still here."
He went quiet for a moment as he tried to think about the best way to say what he was thinking. "I'm still very much in the closet, Wind. And I don't want to be anymore. I want to let everyone see the real me from now on. But I don't really know how to do that. That's something that you're much better at than me. I'll need help to finally step out into the open." He gave him a nervous smile. "Does that sound okay to you? I'll help you live and we can see where things go with us. And while we're doing that, you can help me figure out how to stop hiding and let everyone know that I'm a Demonicus who also happens to really like men."
