"The kids are ready." Van said with a smile after returning to Mala.

"As an added bonus, Larai was actually fairly willing about all this." Van said with a smile as he left the room with Mala.

"That's wonderful~" Mala said, seeming all the happier now. She was really looking forward to this outing with Van and the kids.

As he headed for the front door, Van mussed Kai's hair up as he followed alongside him. "Don't worry so much by the way, we'll try not to treat you like real kids too much. Well, I won't at least, I can't say the same for your mother." he joked.

Mala walked along on the other side of Van, holding onto a silent Larai's hands. "I won't take the kiddy-talk too far, I promise." she said in a half-joking tone.

"So, everyone ready to be blown away by the advancements in technology happening during our immortal lifetime and probably feel old because of it?" Van joked as he held Kai's hand.

Mala chuckled. "You're only as old as you think yourself." she replied with a soft smile. "So in a sense, you can be older than all of us combined and still be the youngest person alive."
"How old ARE you both, anyway?" Larai asked curiously.

Van couldn't help but chuckle a bit at this. "Well let's see, your mother must be...Geez, almost five hundred fifty by now, I think." he said smiling that they'd been happily married for so long before looking back down at Larai. "And I've long since lost track of how old I am. I must be several thousand years old by now."

Larai looked genuinely surprised, but said nothing of it. Instead, she decided to ask, "When do normal humans usually die?"

"Usually between seventy and ninety." Van said simply. Thankfully their family and just about everyone else they knew didn't have to deal with life spans.

Mala grinned broadly at Kai and Larai. "Thankfully, you two shouldn't have to deal with such a short lifespan. You've got your amazing father to thank for that~" she said with no small ammount of pride as she leaned over to lightly kiss Van on the cheek.

"Careful, you know my ego is quick to grow with things like that." Van said with a grin. "It's true though, you two should have eternity to look forward to as well, if not a nice long life covering a few centuries to a millenium."

"So long as your ego doesn't make you love me less, I don't mind helping it grow~" Mala replied with a broad grin.
Larai grinned as well after hearing this. "That's great to hear." she said, offering her mother and father a quick hug.
{Every time I type hug and not let the iPod correct it to 'bug' or 'big, I consider it my grand '******** YOU!' to iPod incorrecting. biggrin I'm such a dork, aren't I?}

((Lol, it's fine. I'd feel the same way. XD ))
"Getting to do what I want for all of eternity? Now that is very sweet." Kai said with a grin, his mind wandering to when he left home.
