After a few minutes of work, a fire pit had been dug out and set up. "Igni" he muttered holding his hand forwards as a flame erupted from the pit giving them warmth and light in the area. "Nocturne" the prince called holding his hand up as around the area they were in a sudden shift of the shadows occurred. He had cast a glimmer over the area they were in to remove the light from being able to be seen from the outside. Reaching to his wrist, Kael took off one of the bracelet's he wore. He set lifted it up high above them as the jewel in the center turned dark. Putting the bracelet back on, for the night at least they wouldn't need to worry about the glimmer falling.

Aurum watched with interest as he went about his various actions.. and her mind only buzzed more. A mere human would not even begin to be able to use magic as casually and day-to-day as Kael did, and it was a curious thing that he was so different in that aspect. The dragoness eyed the fire, and her eyes narrowed as she continued to sift through her scattered brain. She wanted to see him more, and again, but she needed to get home.. and he needed the book. The longer she stayed the worse her worry grew, but she couldn't abandon him here. Without thinking, the dragoness found herself sitting in front of the flames, knees up with her arms resting on them. Aurum was one to try and avoid worrying of any sort, and it was all that filled her mind.

Sitting down finally, Kaelthas took a seat across the firepit from Aurum. He felt a bit absent minded at the moment. The trip he had expected to only take a few days from the kingdom to the boarder and back now was urging on the fifth night since he had left his home. He was sure that his illusion had been discovered and his father likely was enraged. The longer he sat infront of the fire, the harder he thought about it. Letting out an exasperated sigh, Kaelthas rubbed the side of his head letting his hair fall over his face. He needed to stop worrying about such things. He was close to the book now, and once he had it, that would be enough to deal with the consequences of his actions. His father would hopefully understand when he returned with his quarry.
Letting his eyes finally wander from the flames, Kaelthas looked thru them to Aurum who sat across him at the flames edge. She seemed worried, for reasons he could only feel were likely close to his own. A prince and and a princess long from home, becoming star crossed lovers. It sounded when he thought about it, more like one of the love stories his mother used to read to pass the time. In reality they were both long since past returning to their own homes. Each's parent likely growing more feverish by the day.

The woman didn't notice him any longer, far too wrapped in her own thoughts to have snapped out of it now. Eventually, she closed her eyes and put her head on her arms, sighing deeply. There were far too many things wrong to outweigh any of the ones that were right.. and she even felt a little defeated. Aurum knew there were numerous reasons the two couldn't continue this beyond his book, not now that he wasn't who she had thought he was.. and that was only the start of it. The dragoness didn't want to face it, but with Kael's aversion to flight they were likely just digging themselves further graves in opposite lands.

Sighing slightly, both of them seemed to have realized the state of things. Looking up at the now dark sky, Kael thought about how far they had come since they met. At the start he had only expected to go a town or two over in search of the book. Now they were farther into the country then he could have even imagined going. What he had thought would take him less then 4 days to get to the boarder and back with the book, was now far exceeding his intent. "Maybe we should call it quits" Kaelthas said suddenly to Aurum. With each of them falling into squalor of the thoughts they held. Maybe his quest for the book was a failed on.

Aurum lifted her head as he spoke, and her brow furrowed a little. At least he understood what she was going through, he had to be thinking the same thing.. only she was kept track of because she was always causing trouble for them. The dragoness sighed as well and nodded, "It will be a while before I can get back to my cave," She said to him quietly, "But I will go straight there," It was more of a promise that she would try to return to him as soon as she could than it was a promise of help.. but she would do what she could to help him. He had gone this long without it, she was sure he could survive another month at most.

"Right" Kaelthas responded as he lay there. Closing his eyes for a time he let the warmth of the fire cover him. He felt slightly defeated, a prince by force, stuck in a position he cared little for. Rolling to his side he opened his eyes as he stared ahead. The night like the day would likely be filed with a silence between them as reality of their situations came into light. "Lets just, get some sleep. I am sure it will be a long trip tomorrow" he said closing his eyes again to try to get some sleep. The fire would go out eventually but the glimmer atleast would remain until he dispelled it.

Pursing her lips as he laid and rolled over, the little dragoness gave a huff. Knowing well this would be their last night together for quite a while, the girl stood slowly and moved to his side of the fire. Laying with him, even if quiet and not particularly helpful to his situation, was a comfort for her. She wiggled herself into his arms uninvited and got comfortable on the forest floor facing him. Aurum buried her face into his chest some, her words quiet as she tried to comfort Kael, "We will find your book, Kael," She wanted to say more, but she was hesitant. Her lover was deeply seeded in her heart, even if he had not been in her life for long.. and it ached to have to let go of him after only recently patching things up slightly.

The sudden intrusion into his space prompted the prince to open his eyes. Aurum had decided, in her stubbornness, it seemed to not let him time to wallow in the failure he was feeling. Pulling Aurum closer as they laid there, he rested his chin upon her head as he held her close. Not all of his trip had been for naught. The thought to bring her back to his own kingdom crossed his mind for a moment but was quickly tossed out. Until the war was concluded, in his lands, them being together was a difficult thing to imagine. "Don't worry about it, I will have it eventually." Closing his eyes again, Kael's breathing slowed as his body was starting to demand sleep from him to compensate for the prior night and that morning.

Aurum curled against her lover and found herself sleeping quickly, spent from the day. It wasn't until much later, when the sun was rising through the trees, that the young dragoness began to stir from the spot and gave a little groan. Her sleep was filled with nothingness, and she didn't feel any more rested than when she laid down. Aurum stayed there, not really wanting to get up but knowing they had to. She yearned to stay with him for as long as she could, especially with his arms around her.

Kaelthas's sleep had been nothing more then a blank slate. His dreams, or even nightmare's nonexistent on this night. He had woken before Aurum had stirred. Instead of moving tho he simply lay there. His arms around her the fire next to them had not yet gone out. His own warmth along with the fire blanketed the dragoness. He didn't want to leave yet but knew that the time was drawing near as the sunlight peaked over the horizon. Soon they would be on their way's back to their respective homes.

Eventually, the young dragoness sighed and wiggled away from her lover.. though it was after quite a while of laying there awake. She pulled herself into a standing position slowly and then stretched upwards, arms above her head. Lips pursed, Aurum spoke with a groggy voice, "Should I fly you to the town or near my cave?" She asked, almost pouting that she had to do either. She wanted nothing more than to continue to curl up with him, but even if that was a possibility, they would still need to go back home eventually. She sighed as she moved over to their singed packs and dug her water out to take a drink.

As Aurum got up, Kaelthas just watched her as she moved about. His eyes tracing over her form as she moved about in her tired state. When she spoke to him, Kaelthas slowly pushed himself up to a sitting position. Around them, the darkness was still activated as he reached down and touched his bracelet. Around them the shadow of darkness faded. "I would think your cave would be the better place to part" he said to her. Most of him didn't want to go, but he and she knew that they needed to.

Aurum nodded to him, and tossed her pack towards Kael after she had her fill. She was not exactly happy to be doing this, but she gave another sigh and transformed almost lazily, color swirling around her briefly and then dissipating quickly afterward. The dragon laid on her underbelly, crossing one giant clawed hand over the other and then laying her head on her hands. "We can make it in just a few hours," Rumbled the woman.. knowing their next meeting would be far different, if ever.

Standing up slowly, like Aurum, Kaelthas was moving slow. Neither it seemed had gotten much sleep the night before. Taking Aurum's pack he threw it over his shoulder with his own. "Alright then" he said as he moved over to the dragon. Doing his best to climb up her to position himself on her back, Kaelthas after a moment or two got it. He didn't bothering using magic at that time. Instead he wanted to get more of a feel for Aurum's dragonic form that he had not before. "Ready to go when you are" Aurum said eventually as he situated himself.
