"Nap and/or cuddling it is then." Van said as he turned to head back up and out of Marianne's den.

Mala grabbed one of Van's hands, using her free one to motion ahead of them. "Please, lead the way."

When they got home, Van (standing on his tip toes slightly) opened the door to find Kai standing there with a small milk bottle when he caught sight of two kids that looked strangely like his parents. He slowly turned to look at the milk bottle thinking he was hallucinating because it had gone bad. "This is what I was afraid of..." Van said as he face/palmed with his free hand.

"Damn it! Now we actually have to explain why we're stuck as bloody kids." Mala whimpered softly to herself, really not wanting to mention again how her cooking was a sin against all things in existance.

"This has got be a bad dream...." Kai said squeezing his eyes shut in hopes that the children would go away. When he opened them again, however, they were still there. "Crap."
"All you need to know is that your mother won't be cooking with magic any time soon. And don't. Say. Another. Word." Van said promptly leading Mala past Kai and up to their room and closing the door behind them without giving Kai another look.
((I should be heading to bed soon.))

Mala looked embarassed as she followed Van into their room. "That was humiliating." the grumbled to herself.

"By the look on his face, I'm sure he'll want to pretend it never happened for the rest of the day, and then grill us about it tomorrow." Van said as he hopped onto their bed.

Mala crawled on top of the bed to lay next to Van. "Probably..." She sighed and continued, "I wish I hadn't just assumed they'd be out of the way. I'm so reckless..."

"It's fine, neither of us could have known he'd be there the second we walked in." Van said turning around to lay on his stomach. "And you have to admit, the look on Kai's face when we walked in was pretty funny." he said with a grin, hoping to lighten Mala's spirits.

"If he's still convinced this isn't happening we might get him to think the milk really had gone bad." Van said with a chuckle.

"I should hope so. It'll have so much less effort involved than telling him the actual situation. That, plus, it's embarassing to have it proven that I'm a useless chef like this. I'd much rather him think I simply gave up - which is partially true at this point."

"Well I'm sorry you have negative points in cooking with magic." Van joked with a smile. "Have you tried cooking without magic yet?" he asked wondering if magic was more part of the problem than the solution.

"Yes, and it always ends up as a disgusting illness-bringing horror at worst and impossible-to-chew charcoal at best." Mala replied, sighing softly. "This is pretty humiliating...not being able to cook after over five hundred years of trying!"

"I think it should say something that you've at least tried for that long." Van said as tuned onto his side to cuddle up with her.
