History: Kazul and Ruzski have a long history.
They were best friends since he joined the pride as an adolescent (her dad was still warlord at that point), and that grew into more. Then one of Kazul's thralls who hated her told her a lie that Ru had been unfaithful to her while on a viking and out of spite Kazul slept with a god and ended up pregnant. Her dad blamed Ru, even though she tried to tell him that wasn't the case, and sent Ru on an impossible quest that he actually managed to return from with success.
While he was away, Njal defeated Aesir and exiled his family, including Kazul, and even after Ru took over as warlord, it took a bit for Kazul to re-emerge, and in that time Ru fell in love with a healer, Gyllene, but couldn't quite bring himself to reject Kazul when she returned, so he ended up having cubs with both her and Gyllene, but only actually participating in the upbringing of Gyllene's cubs. Kazul's cubs by him all grew up resenting him (and his other cubs) for that, so any older full-sibs your girl runs into will probably not be big fans of their dad, but not actually anti-little sibs.
That said, in the fight when he lost his position, Ru realized that he and Gyllene had grown apart and his thoughts focused more and more on Kazul, so he sought her out to make amends. She was reluctant to have anything to do with him, but being with him was an old (and kind of unhealthy) habit, and easy to fall back into, and Kazul didn't fight it very hard, and when she found herself pregnant, he swore he would be a part of this litter's life, but she's not willing to marry him or have him living with her. She's learned some hard lessons about trusting others.
Basically, Ru gets the cubs on the weekends and the rest of the time they live with their mum, who is wary of their dad and her feelings for him, but is trying not to raise this litter to hate people.
