Eglan was rejected by a mare who thought he was becoming too obsessive regarding their relationship. He tore up the plushie gift and love letters she had given him and has vowed to never fall in love again. Though he has found his dark side mate in Idhren, he can never bring himself to permanently bond to her as a lifemate, fearing that it would make her leave him once more broken in heart and spirit.
