This area is filled with male Earth elementals. Males and females both secrete certain chemicals that attract a mate. Just so happens, that the male chemical messes with the body conditions of fire elementals. The female chemical messes with lightning elementals.

That means one of three things: they get someone to mate with, someone kicks their asses, or I lose my fire powers to the nearest Earth elemental, turning them into a lava elemental, and they tend to be.... *calculates*.......... 15,489,623 times meaner than my meanest. And that's at their nicest.
