Bukichi had intended to redeem himself during this week of fishing... and as it would turn out, he never even would get to the water. Spiderclaws were littering the beach as far as the eye could see, and he pounced on the opportunity to round up as many of them as he possibly could. This was a far more respectable result than his first one!

Finding the beach full of spiderclaws was not what Nemeryn had expected to find this morning, and he certainly wasn't about to question his good luck. Snatching up the critters and occasionally cursing when he got pinched, he managed to collect a fair amount of them. These would make for several good meals.

To say she was reluctant to deal with nets again was an understatement. Kleoth had lurked protectively nearby, all but ready to snatch her rider up and into the safety of her claws if she even looked as though she was losing her balance. Fortunately, that caution seemed unneeded today. Phryana, with no small effort, managed to wrench the net up and out of the water, gazing at the numerous, wiggling silver bodies within.

"Lucky." She commented, and Kleoth rumbled her agreement as she gently scooped up the net to fly it directly to the kitchens.

J'hcre could honestly only stare at what should have been his monster fish. A boot. He was half tempted to chuck it right back in the ocean, but that would mean touching it.... and knowing his luck, he'd probably just catch the sharding thing all over again.

No fish? Garganth seemed confused, but was content to lumber after his rider down the beach. "Maybe fish." M'lus said reassuringly. "Heard a bunch of people got lucky finding spiderclaws today." There'd be no harm in taking a look around, at any rate. His searching did turn up some edible things here and there, and Garganth chose to wander some... until he saw something very interesting indeed!

M'lus felt the earth shake as his enormous bronze leapt with an eager bellow, heard a high-pitched squawk... and the bronze was bounding back towards him, a sea wherry hanging limp in his jaws. Not fish, but wherry! Garganth informed him with delight, and practically beamed when M'lus showered him with praise.

While hunting the beach, you you find a newly hatched baby firelizard! The hungry being demands tribute, and you have no choice but to give in! Thankfully, you have a few snacks stashed to ensure this little flit doesn't go hungry. Well, this is an unexpected surprise... Roll a D20 to see what color, and Quote Uta! (You can only win this once per character. If you roll it on a character who has already Impressed, they simply find shells from an already hatched clutch instead.)

With rumors of spiderclaws massing on the beach, B'nar wanted to see if he could get lucky... and, if he was being completely honest, combing the beach seemed more fun than simply hoping a fish would bite! What he didn't expect to find was a firelizard fresh out of the shell! The little thing creeled piteously at him.

What are you doing? Loaeth was instantly alert. He'd been extremely irritated when B'nar had come home with Sweet Tart after a drunken mishap... and here he was, thinking about bringing home another one??? The audacity.

B'nar was hardly about to say no to a baby, however. Look at those big eyes! Luckily, he had some snacks in his pocket...

Why bother with fishing today? Ahigath wanted to know as she trotted down to the beach ahead of her rider, her tail swishing.

"You know very well why. The Weyr is running a little low on supplies due to a lack of tithes, and it's our job to pitch in."

Oh, I know that. Came the dismissive reply. I just mean today. I don't even think you need to fish.

Amused and puzzled, Haseya made her way after her dragon... and stopped dead at the sight of so many spiderclaws running about everywhere. Ahigath was already batting them into a pile, prancing with mirth. She was already planning on how to stash one of these in her siblings' wallows.

Shillouroth watched a touch anxiously as C'tyl pulled in his net.... and fluttered her wings with delight when she saw that there were indeed fish in there. Splendidly done, Mine! She praised, relieved after last week's... less than successful attempts.
