By the time the sun was up, Maya could move again, though she hid under the shade of a tree for the day. Her wounds burned and ached every time she drew breath, though there wasn't much she could do about it at the moment.

Fid came back and left the food by her. "You should have stayed still in the tent." He walled off again, sitting by the river in the sun. He leaned back to bask in the rays.

Maya just kept her gaze on the ground, not responding to Fid when he spoke to her. Once he walked off, she finished the food and closed her eyes, pulling her cowl down low and covering herself with her cloak.

Fid sighed. "You should be in the tent, you know." His tone was...lighter, calmer. He was agitated only now, but even then he didn't have the heart to remain that way. "And you never told me what had happened to you."

"It's too hot in the tent. I prefer it out here." Maya answered, holding a hand over her ribs. It hurt to breathe, so of course talking wasn't much better for the drow. "Does it really matter? I got hurt, that's about all there is to it." She murmured, not really wanting to go into the details at the moment.

That pissed him off again. Fine, if she didn't want to tell him, he wouldn't bother her about it. Prosecute him for caring... He grumbled and stood up to walk off. "I'm going for a walk."

"It was Authion. Alright?" Maya growled, angry that he was getting mad at her just because she didn't want to tell him everything right away. She was embarrassed to be caught when she was so vulnerable, but she was also just trying to keep Fid from getting madder by telling him who it was. That obviously didn't work well.

Fid looked at his feet, not knowing what to feel. So many emotions, mostly rage. He shouted into the sky in frustration. Walking back to her, he plopped down onto the ground, laying on his back, staring into the sky. "I am fed up with feeling."

"So am I..." She said quietly, still sitting where she had been for hours. Saving her energy was half of it, and it was also the darkest place outside she could find.

Fid looked at her, nothing showing in his eyes. "I'm going to take a nap. If anything happens..." She new the drill. With that, he tried to drift off. A fluctuation of emotion like that could drain a guy's energy. He needed to rest.

The drow nodded in silence, her face hidden by the shadow from her cowl. Her hands rested easily on the hilts of her scimitars while she sat quietly. If the need arose, she could probably fight for a few brief moments if something were to happen, though she knew the sunlight would drain her energy quickly if that were to happen.

Fid drifted off soon after, tired and thanking the blessing. The slumber had brought him refrain from all emotions except those of peace.

The day passed uneventfully. Maya fought to stay awake the entire day. She was tired, but in all fairness Fid was probably tired too. She could rest later, and hopefully she'd have more energy now that the sun was going down and the moon was rising.

Fid awoke in shock. He had to force himself awake. "Sorry. I slept too long. How are you feeling?" He had a guilty looking expression on his face. He didn't need to sleep that long. He only wanted a few minutes. She needed to rest more.

"Not too well, but I can deal with the pain." Maya muttered tiredly in response. Her chest still rose and fell with many staggered breaths. She could breathe, it just hurt to. Not like she could stop breathing though, so she had to just do her best to ignore it.
