Welllll... this is odd... The format for replying I mean. How come guild threads don't work like public threads? Been a while since I bothered in any guild stuffs. O.o Also yay for just getting accepted into this one, and yay for rolling things. Dice hate me so I imagine I'll end up using point-buy but we'll see.

That's a decent spread, actually. Not too overpowered, not quite underpowered. You'd be able to utilize that easily.

Really only if I went with some kind of build in which I didn't ever have to hit anything, like skillmonkey perhaps. With a high score of only 17 at level 1 after racial modifiers, the only way I'll really be able to hit things is by being pegged into melee for an easy time gaining CA and having a weapon proficiency bonus to attacks. So yeah, it certain is viable, in a lot of ways, but also kind of limiting in a way. Perhaps I'll try something a bit wacky... Once I get my books back anyway.

I imagine the Tomb will give us more than a fair share of skill challenges, but 17 at level one is hardly crippling, especially once you're at level 10

Indeed: a 17 can easily turn into a 19 at level 10.

i made a test build and ended up with a human guardian fighter and one-handed style with strength getting the modifier, then 2*str and 2*wis at levels. default skill train and to endurance and athletics. human perseverance, weapon focus heavy blade, arkhosian fang student, toughness, skill train perception, heart of the blade, and action surge.

So I've got my character pretty much done, and a sort of long background written out, though I wasn't going to bother using the background feature in PHB2 because I wouldn't be able to decide what ONE bonus I'd take. However I noticed on the first page, you said "background bonuses" as in plural? Would we be able to take multiple background bonuses? There's 2 I'd take if I could, adding streetwise and stealth to class skills. Of course, I'm pretty sure you won't allow this so that I can't just be like "lol +2 bonuses to every skill evar."

Also while typing this I've decided I will use a background bonus even if I can't have 2. Streetwise seems to fit the character a bit better than stealth.

Also also, Adventurer's Vault is okay for magic items but Adventurer's Vault 2 isn't, according to the first page. I just wanted to confirm that this was the case, though I think like everything in Adventurer's Vault 2 is just a collection from all the other books allowed anyway, without having to search through them all.

There should be some backgrounds that grant multiple bonuses, from what I remember, that aren't in FR or Eberron.

bonuses meant characters' bonuses. Follow the rules of backgrounds which apply
