Round 4- Day 1 - Roll 2: General Grid
Bronze Illiandinth 7/16 hp
Held saves: 1

2. Your dragon swoops down to flame a writhing silvery Thread, but your riding straps are just a little bit loose. The sudden fear of feeling yourself lift just a bit higher in the straps than you like is terrifying as you fear you might slide off. Furthermore, when your dragon swoops back up to return to formation, you're forcefully returned to your seat! You're able to tighten the leg strap with shaky hands, and were never at risk of actually falling off, but it's not an experience you want to feel again. Your tailbone is going to object for a few days. -1 HP Rider Damage.

-----

Ow! Shaffit! C'sar was tired of hitting his tailbone on his dragon's firm, muscular neck. It was getting to the point where he wasn't even sure that he was going to be able to properly walk after this! And he certainly hadn't gotten there in any enjoyable fashion. Bah.

Day 3 / Round 4 / Roll 1: Regular Grid
Green Seirath: 13/10 HP
Held saves: 1

Spinning back around from her most recent save Seirath was fairly convinced that her eyes were just going to stay yellow with worry for all of her siblings, as she saw another threat of danger not far away. She shouted in her mind and dove towards...

Day 3 / Round 4 / Roll 2: Regular Grid
Green Seirath: 13/10 HP
Held saves: 2

There were too many things happening, it appeared either the thread was falling faster or it was clumping dangerously, but Amra shouted to another Weyrling and the pair went in for another save, worry flooding through the greenrider pair.

Day 3 / Round 4 / Roll 3: Regular Grid
Green Seirath: 13/10 HP
Held saves: 2

This was getting crazy! Seirath was spinning through the air, wings folding and body twisting, thread burning all around her as she bobbed and weaved, listening to her rider's warnings and taking cues better than she ever had before. Her songs came spilling out between bursts of flame and shouts to her siblings. This was what she was meant to do, this was what she'd been born for and Amra's heart swelled as her dragon found the most comfortable groove and yet still was on edge enough to listen to her. This was working!

Eyes watching everything around her, careful that she didn't get singed by thread or overshoot her targets, hurt a sibling, miss some thread that would fall, Seirath caught sight of a catastrophe that was looming just beyond where she could reach even to help physically. Hessianth was in trouble and it looked like her sweet sister was doing all she could to alert him to the danger but it was almost too late. Yellow flashed across her eyes until it overtook the daring blue and green that had been there previously and Seirath's voice joined her rider's, shouting it directly into her brother's mind when Amra couldn't. DANGER! Brother move! Panic swamping through her voice as she raced towards them as if she could do anything, flaming thread along the way.

Round 4 / Day 1 / Roll 4: Wingsecond Grid
Blue Tinanath: 6/12 HP Acting Wingsecond
Held saves: 0

Quote:
6 You are inspiring and a natural! Your dragon gives encouragement to those who need it, and an impassioned speech. You're really getting into this, and you definitely are feeling great. You're such a beacon of hope to the rest of your fellow weyrlings that they too seem inspired to keep up the fight. All weyrlings currently fighting Thread get +3 HP!

Despite the pain he was in, Tinanath was still fully aware that he had to set a positive example to his wingmates. He couldn't let them down as he'd done by getting Threadscored so badly -- and he couldn't let down Savaceth or her rider for choosing him as acting Wingsecond. Most importantly, he couldn't let down Ph'ton. He'd made a mistake in not waiting for coordinates from His before leaping through Between, and he knew it. He had to atone for his mistake, and lift up his fellows.

He scanned around his weary siblings, some of them more injured and tired than others, and spoke to all of them. You have done well, my brothers and sisters! You all have shown that our training is superior! We have taken some hits, it is true -- and I am no exception. That is the danger we all face. That is the danger of fighting Thread. But this is what we were born to do! We must be vigilant; we must persevere! This battle is nearly over, and soon we will return to the Weyr triumphant! Listen to Yours, work with them as a team, and we will get through this!

Ph'ton listened too, and when Tinanath was done, he thumped the blue on the neck. "So proud of you, Tin. You're right -- we can do this!"

Round 4 / Day 1 / Roll 2: General Grid
Brown Aleyath: 14/14 HP
Held saves: 0

Aleyath listened to Tinanath's speech with pride in his hearts. Besides Vedmath, they were all still alive, right? And surely the bronze wasn't really dead. Maybe.

The brown flapped a little harder after his brother's inspirational words had concluded, waiting until some Thread floated close enough to flame.

    Quote:
    4. No Thread is near you, and there's nothing really to be done. The winds are calm and you're in good spirits. You've got this. A moment to think, a moment to breathe. Look at you, fighting Thread like a real rider!

Round 4 - Day 2 - Roll 1: Gung Ho Grid
Green Nzambith 10/10 HP

Saves: 2

Nzambith's hearts pumped a bit faster as Tinanath, the acting Wingsecond for this portion of the flight, gave an inspiring call to his brothers and sisters that were still airborne. So much confidence and pride coming from her brothers had bolstered the green's confidence and, as a result, Vennodren's as well. He saw how capable his little green darling was and he was finally starting to feel comfortable in the saddle. Feeding off her energy, he gave a little whoop of delight as they caught a little thermal and used its energy to rise without a single beat of her wings.

The call for Firestone met his ears and Venn took the request upon himself and Nzambith. They rose up to the lower Wing above them with a sack full of the precious stone and with a well timed toss from Vennodren and a little surge from Nzambith, the sack made it into the hands of the brown rider without issue. Nzambith turned back neatly and quickly, doing a little barrel roll to lose altitude faster and return to their spot in their own Wing.

"That's my girl," Venn crooned to Nzambith who gave a trumpet in reply.

Round 4 - Day 2 - Roll 2: Gung Ho Grid
Green Nzambith 10/10 HP

Saves: 2

Vennodren felt good. Despite the dull ache in his backside that he couldn't quite feel anymore thanks to the adrenaline pumping through him, he felt as if this first flight was going well. His beloved Nzambith had yet to be hit with Thread and it boded well for their future of flying together.

Spotting a clump of thread just out of reach, he urged Nzambith towards it. The green shot a flame towards it just as one of her brown brothers dove towards it, putting them on a direct path with the flame. Both Vennodren and Nzambith cried out, but their words reached Hessianth just as the flame did.

Day 4 / Round 4 / Roll 1: Gung Ho Grid
Green Seirath: 16/10 HP
Held saves: 2

A call rang out to the two of them in the midst of their dance, a call for firestone and fast! Seirath twirled down to burn one last clump of thread before taking her direction and hopping Between. Even a bit below the fighting win the Thread was still thick, up closer it was terrible, a chilling reminder of what awaited them if they survived this first encounter.

With a shout for attention Amra reeled back and tossed the fire stone towards the rider and.... watched it... plummet. Shards and shells. A blush darkened her features behind her goggles and the woman threw the second stone to the sound of her dragon's bell-like laughter.

Quote:
5. You're called up to deliver Firestone to one of the Fighting Wings. Roll a D4 to see how you fare!

Quote:
You casually toss the stone, only to find you missed your mark completely! The rider is unable to catch it, and both watch in dismay as it falls down below. Shaffit! How embarrassing. You're more focused on your next attempt, which does land its mark.

Round 4 - Day 2 - Roll 3: Gung Ho Grid
Green Nzambith 10/10 HP

Saves: 3

Both Vennodren and Nzambith let out a sigh of relief as Seirath came to save the day and Hessianth escaped unscathed.

"Phew...that was a little closer than I'd like!" Vennodren said with a weak laugh, giving Amra a little salute as the small green flew by. "I think for the rest of the flight we should stay in our space, Nzambith," he added to his dragon who was already moving back to where she belonged. Nzambith nodded, not liking how close she had come to injuring her own brother. They flew steadily after that, flaming what came their way and keeping an eye out for their siblings.

Day 4 / Round 4 / Roll 2: Gung Ho Grid
Green Seirath: 15/10 HP
Held saves: 2

Firestone delivered, awkwardly, Seirath and Amra returned to their position in the Weyrling wing and set back to work again, still confident in their rhythm and abilities despite missing and losing a piece of fire stone that they would regret later surely. In fact Seirath was feeling so ambitious that she went to flame not just one patch that she'd noticed, but three! Amra had only pointed out the one to her when she'd noticed the second two clumps falling and attempted to get them all. Though she generally was very light on her wings something tweaked, something pulled!

Giving a discordant yelping noise, Seirath let the third clump go to another weyrling and straightened herself back out, one wing beating just a bit out of time with the other for a moment or two that dropped Amra's stomach like a stone. "It's okay, it's just a little pull" She said calmly, one shoulder blade burning.

Quote:
6. Your dragon tries to catch three patches of Thread that have fallen close to your wingspace. They could have gotten one or two, but not all three. In their haste, twisting and turning, they wind up pulling a muscle in their wing, and two of the three clumps aren't fully charred. Sloppy work, pal. -1 HP and your next roll must be from the Bad Luck Grid

Day 4 / Round 4 / Roll 3: Bad Luck Grid
Green Seirath: 15/10 HP
Held saves: 2

Still flying a bit awkwardly and completely worried that she was going to end up scored by thread, the little green ended up getting a bit jumpy towards the end of the fall, her eyes staying a tinged yellow color even if she was still trying to show off. Because she just couldn't help herself. Still, Seirath listened to Amra, trying to make up for the pain that she was feeling in her wings and the exhaustion that had started to settle over her. It was almost over. Watching an errant clump of Thread Amra gave her a direction and the two hopped between to get away from it but...

A honk, discordant and loud, filled the air as Seirath all but slammed into one of her brothers and fell a distance to avoid actually doing either of them any harm. Wings catching herself once more, Amra now firmly wrapped around her beloved green's neck from the abruptness of it all, the two could only issue an apology as they slunk off back towards their initial designation.

Shards and shells... all of it.

Quote:
1. It is just not your day...or is it? You jump Between to avoid getting scored and wind up appearing in your wingmates airspace Roll a D4 to see what happens!

Quote:
You surprise your fellow weyrling, but a quick honk of greeting, and you're already back in place. No harm, no foul... just not your best moment.

Round 4 - Day 2 - Roll 1: General Grid
Brown Hessianth: 7/14 hp
Held saves: 0

Quote:
You appear from Between..... directly into a clump of Thread. It sears through your dragons wingsails, and you can feel it tangling up on your leg! The wherhide fabric doesn't seem to offer any protection at all, shaffit all! You finally remember to visualize and go Between, but you're certainly hurting. -5 HP Threadscore.

He hadn't even realized he was in danger, so intent on diving after a clump of thread. Hessianth bugled in surprise as both Nzambith and Seirath cried out for him, he shot his wings out and used the sudden air beneath them to launch back from his previous path. For now, he was safe.

It was rather unfortunate that back was right into a clump of thread, rather than his sister's flames.

Round 4 / Day 2 / Roll 1: Ambitious Grid
Blue Tinanath: 5/12 HP Acting Wingsecond
Held saves: 0

Both Tinanath and Ph'ton were charged up by the blue dragon's motivational speech to his siblings. Spotting three clumps of Thread falling ahead of the formation (what were they doing higher up that was letting so much Thread get through?), Tinanath soared after them himself. He was a sight to behold in the air, darting and spinning and flaming the clumps of Thread. Suddenly he felt a sharp pain near the base of his left wing; he'd pulled a flight muscle with all his aerobatics. Hurts! he cried as Ph'ton watched one of the clumps float past uncharred. Shaffit all, they'd missed one -- and seeing a few silver shimmers further down, apparently hadn't gotten the other two completely. Ph'ton realized that maybe they'd bitten off more than they could chew...
