'Sir?' The synthesized voice chimed, sounding concerned and for a brief moment, glitchy. Ashley frowned a little, taking another slow hit and waiting a moment before continuing to speak; particularly waiting until the screen stabilized.

It took a few moments and briefly, Ashley though his watch had frozen. A factoid that would’ve brought him ire. Soon though, it scrambled and moved and without hesitation, the Porygon2 manifested in its proper form. It twitched briefly before directing its gaze to its trainer, head tilting just slightly.
'There is an egg hunting event occurring right now, sir.' The pokemon responded, tone less synthesized as it instead used its psychic capabilities. Ashley quirked an eyebrow, not voicing his opinion on that fact that Octave had left his post inside his communicator. He assumed it was for good reason. It better have been.
"Hm. An egg hunting event?" Ashley repeated curiously, gaze drifting off a bit as he seemed to consider the idea, taking another huff. The Porygon2 shifted up and down as though nodding.

"Alphonse. Bastien." Ashley called out, catching the pairs attention. He didn’t bother to do so with Odilon, the Swanna catching the sound and landing just a few feet away, giving an elegant ruffling of his wings in the process. "C'est l'heure d'y aller. " He called, turning and beginning to retrieve his things. Alphonse gave a yawn and a nod, glancing at a confused Bastien who clearly didn’t quite understand what was said.
'Come on, we’re leaving now.' Alphonse answered, starting to move back towards where their trainer was. Bastien perked up in surprise. Oh! Okay, did that mean they were done training? He didn’t get much of a chance to think about it quickly padding after the mega-Audino and only coming to a stop once they’d arrived near Ashley. The man had situated his items much as before; computer bag at one side, case in one hand and a double check to make sure all things were where they needed to be. Once his pokemon had gathered he retrieved their pokeballs, returning Odilon to rest for the time being.
"Did you want to rest before ze gym battle, Bastien?" He inquired of the fox, offering up his pokeball as well. The Braixen seemed to think about it a moment before shaking his head in response. He wanted to stay out for a bit more.
"D'accord, ça me va." Ashley remarked, tucking the ball away. He extended his wrist and communicator towards Octave, giving the pokemon a look that seemed to indicate he resume his place which the Porygon2 did without hesitation. "Octave, please find more information on this…. ‘egg hunt’ s'il vous plaît."
'Yes sir.' With that settled, the French man adjusted his glasses and his grip, giving a little head jerk at the pair to follow as they headed into town. It was probably best to check in on the gym and see if the leader had returned.

But first a trip to the pokemon center. While Alphonse and Bastien might’ve kept themselves topped off with potions, it was no replacement for a proper heal up at the local center. He wanted them fully refreshed and prepared to take on the gym. Once they arrived he returned the pair and handed over his pokemon to be healed, taking the time to browse head over to the pokemart as well. He’d checked his pokedex and indeed, the two had grown stronger with their training, which was good. It was only wise then to check and see if there was anything he could collect to help make their next fight easier. At least for Bastien; Alphonse had his megastone to provide extra power and for the most part, his moveset was all right for now. Really, it was just the psychic fox he was concerned about.
He found a few things on interest; some heart scales that would come in handy, a TM for Blizzard that would be useful to Alphonse and a device called an EXP share, which was apparently useful for sharing training experience between battling pokemon and the one who wore it. He wasn’t certain who would have the privilege but that would be something he figured out later. Once he was finished shopping he returned to the center to retrieve his healed team, unleashing Alphonse and Bastien once more. They’d be his primary fighters for this next gym and so his focus was on them.
Without uttering a word, he offered the TM and TM case to Alphonse, the Audino quirking his head a bit before taking the device and setting about learning. Bastien watched in surprise; he certainly didn’t realize that the mega could use the device on his own without the assistance of a human. His focus went from watching that though to Ashley as the man snapped for it, offering out the heartscales. He picked one up and showed it before crushing it in a gloved hand and allowing the silvery mist to rain on the pokemon. Bastien shut his eyes and took in the feeling as his moveset seemed to alter. Soon the silvery dust disappeared.
Ashley nodded, stepping back, and producing his pokedex. Alphonse had learned the TM as intended and Bastien had learned a new move; Zen Headbutt. Good, a useful psychic move, a little stronger than the one he already had. That would suffice. He tucked the device away along with the remainder of the heart scales and collected his things once more, heading for the door and outside, heading for the gym. It was about time they got this done.

Ashley made his way to the gym and was pleased to see that it appeared to be open for business. Good. Without hesitation, he shoved the doors open and headed inside, Alphonse and Bastien right at his side. It was rather … odd to stumble across what was basically a roller rink in the gym and Ashley found his head tilting ever so slightly as he observed the athletes rolling about and preforming tricks. Huh.
Eventually he found the platform that allowed those wheel-less individuals to head over to the challenger’s ring where the gym leader seemed to be doing her own skating session. Clearing his throat to interrupt, Korrina came to a stop and looked surprised. ”Oh! A challenger! Welcome to the Shalour Gym!” She greeted with a grin. Ashley gave his own formal greeting along with a little bow. Soon though, once pleasantries were out of the way, the battle was underway.

Before the skater could go off and lose herself completely, she quickly gathered herself and her polite opponent's discs and badge before she skated over to him. "It's matches like these that really leave a trainer pumped, wouldn't you agree?" she asked, rhetorically, then flashed him his badge. "Here, take your Rumble badge! And, a few other things." Korinna was careful to keep still as she handed Ashley his gym badge and various discs, afterwards giving him a thumbs up. "Keep up the good work! And make sure you keep that same intensity when you take on the next gym leader!"

Ashley adjusted his glasses and gave a nod as the young woman presented him his winning. He didn’t even seem at all phased by her gushing, which in and of itself was rather odd. He was mulling over the fact that he’d had to bring in Theodor to assist with the battle. It was certainly a fortunate thing for his side that the last pokemon had a proper weakness to electric attacks, else the battle might’ve gone a little dicier than he’d wanted.
"Merci beaucoup, madam." Ashley remarked as he took the items, tucking them away and giving the young woman a partial smile and a proper bow in farewell. Returning everyone to their pokeballs for the time being, he made his way for the pokemon center once more to heal them up. Well, he was still pleased that they’d won and so if they desired, they could get moving once more.

Dropping his team off with the Nurse Joy once more, Ashley turned his attention to his communicator. "Octave." He commanded and without hesitation the device sprang to life as it often did so many times before. "Yes sir?" The porygon2 spoke, static still on the screen as Ashley looked down at it.
"What have you found out about ze egg hunt event?" He inquired. The screen flickered and spazzed out, giving him nothing but silence for a few seconds. Ashley narrowed his gaze some at the device, a hint of a disapproving frown crossing his face as he waited. It wasn’t common for Octave to take so long to respond…

"Yes sir." The pokemon finally responded. Ashley extended his arm out some as the screen flickered to life and soon the Porygon2 materialized to hover in front of him. Ashley’s disappointed expression was still on his face but he did not respond to the appearance, retracting his hand to allow him to cross his arms over his chest as he waited for input to his question.
"There are fifty eggs spread across the seven regions. There has been a map provided for which areas contain eggs for searching." Octave reported, the pale black and green Porygon2 reported, hovering in place in front of his trainer. Ashley tilted his head a bit, seeming to consider this information.

"Mm." That was a fairly basic description of the event; it didn’t sound entirely complicated… nor all that interesting. He shifted and glanced back towards the counter to see if the Nurse Joy had returned; she hadn’t which meant there was still a bit of a wait before they could head off again.
"It is basically a scavenger hunt, sir. There are set prizes depending on the amount of eggs you collect." Octave continued, which caught a slight more interest from his trainer. Well at least there was some slight benefit from it.

"Fifty eggs…," Ashley murmured, moving a hand to his face and adjusting his glasses. A contemplative expression appeared on his face as he seemed to consider his options. He’d collected three badges at this point and he could certainly go forward to collect more if he really wanted. A little strategy and some more training would have him moved along through another badge if he wanted. Of course, he wasn’t entirely interested in training for another badge at this point though.
The egg hunt would be good distraction, if only to do a little travelling and give himself something to invest his time on. But scavenger hunts were…. Boring. They certainly didn’t involve a level of skill and well since young children would be participating, he had a hard time believing the eggs would be difficult to locate.

Of course, at this point there’d be a bit of a challenge because so many other trainers already had started on their own hunts. Less eggs lying around to find meant it would take some work to locate one’s for his own hunt and well… maybe they had placed them in interesting and challenging places. It was a worthwhile venture if he really wanted to break away from the monotony of trying to hunt down his quarry and training. If anyone received a benefit from it, it was his pokemon. Not that they had really done anything to deserve a break; the gym battles hadn’t been that difficult to complete and all. It was a toss-up…

At this point though, it was far more interesting than the drudgery he was going through at this time. He’d double check to make sure that there had been no updates but if not, then he decided he would take up the challenge of the scavenger hunting for the eggs. At least for a little bit; if anything it kept him moving and if it came down to it, he could quickly maneuver to some other region as needed.
"Very well." Ashley finally spoke, dropping his hand from his face and dropping it to his sides as he gave an affirmative nod. "Download a copy of ze map, we will be moving out to ze first destination once everyone is healed up." He remarked, eyeing the Porygon2. Octave flickered and moved his body up and down as though nodding before dispersing. "Yes sir, right away." And with that, Ashley’s communicator whirled to life once more as his pokemon set to work.

- At about this time, Nurse Joy returned as well with his pokeballs on a tray. Ashley maneuvered his way back to the counter, thanking the young woman as he collected his team and stored them back on his belt. With that handled he returned to his table and collected his bag, slinging the strap over his shoulder once more and pulling the sniper case into his free hand so that he could keep his communicator hand free for viewing.
"Octave, have you found ze event information?" Ashley inquired, watching as the screen flickered and distorted before finally settling to a soft buzz of light. Once more, there was a delay and Ashley decided to move himself towards the doors to head outside.
