You get a number... and it took me a while to learn this too, by clicking on "Post Action" then selecting "random number". The number box opens and you put 1 in the first field, and 1000 in the second field, then post, and it rolls a number for you.

Male seahorses don't lay the eggs, they just fertilise and incubate, i think. But yeah, they're still the principle parent.
