The problem with human settlements was that most buildings tended to look the same. It was a good thing service buildings had signs to advertise their place or Shinri would be stuck looking forever to find a place that served food. The town was littered with scents that made it almost impossible to follow just one. It wasn't as bad as Lumiose City, of course. Lumiose had so many smells that Shinri was not looking forward to going there again. Made him sick to his stomach and he'd felt incredibly dizzy, too. The pointed-eared trainer shuttered at the thought. Maybe he'd stick a lemon to his nose or something.

As expected, the Fennekin smoked out the Weedle. He was almost disappointed, but at least her Ember was top notch. And, Shinri wasn't the only one that thought so. Gin trotted over to her and seemed to compliment her. Of course, like before, she was happy to just ignore his affections. Well, if he got scratched or bit, it was his fault. Shinri tried to get him to leave her alone. What happened now was out of his hands."You have every right to thrash him, Moyasu. Oh, and so do you, Heiya. "Dandy." Ashley interrupted, both the girl and fox’s head snapping up in his direction. He had his arms folded over his chest and an eyebrow raised curiously as he stared the both of them down. The Fennekin shifted a bit at the look; to him, it seemed to suggest that Ashley wasn’t pleased by the whole interaction. He gave the girl a look of concern but was thrown off at the sight of the same pleasant smile. Where he seemed to be interpreting his trainer’s response as negative, she didn’t seem the least bit bothered. In fact, if there had been any change in her demeanor then he’d missed it. It was like he was staring at night and day side by side.
”Oui?” Dandy chimed as she turned properly to face her brother, smile still on her face. The Fennekin just blinked, his gaze swapping between the two. Ashley tilted his head as an arm fanned out in front of him in a sweeping gesture, eyebrow still raised. "Do you have my things?" The girl’s smile grew a little and she gave a quick bow in response.
"Bien sûr!" Dandy remarked. She adjusted the Fennekin to cradle in one arm immediately starting forward and latching a hand onto the extended one of her half-brother’s, beginning to gently pull him in the direction of a small coffee shop and its outdoor patio. Ashley went along quite well with being tugged, keeping pace with the girl expression still neutral as he followed until they arrived at a small table. Dandy released Ashley and plopped down in one of the two seats carefully moving the Fennekin to her lap and gently scratching him behind his ear. Ashley took up the other seat opposite of her, sitting down and watching a moment as his sister continued to fawn over his starter.

"Did you bring me my things?" He inquired as he watched the pair, folding his arms on top of the table. Dandy continued to smile as she glanced up at him, her head bobbing in a yes. "Oui, of course I did! That is what you asked me to do, no?" Dandy stopped in her petting as she set the Fennekin down beside her chair. "Un moment!" She chirped before she promptly was up and off again, disappearing around the corner to retrieve the goods. The Fennekin watched her go before hearing the sound of a throat clearing and looking back at Ashley, who seemed to be watching him with an analytical stare.
"It seems that she has taken a like to you." Was the only remark he received, the man’s attention focusing back to the table, picking up a single sheet menu and looking it over with a disinterested gaze. Soon Dandy returned, two cases in her hands that immediately sparked Ashley’s interest a smile crossing his face as his eyes seemed to shine just a bit. Dandy set both cases on the table, one big and bulky enough to look as though it might’ve been an instrument case, the other a smaller looking case with electronic ports and plugs lining it’s sides. That one clearly wasn’t entirely what it seemed.
"There you are! Zee ones you asked for and your computer!" Dandy remarked as she returned to her seat and snatched the fox up and back into her lap. He didn’t resist, actually enjoying the affection. Ashley unfolded his arms, fingers twitching a bit as he reached a hand out and rubbed it over the edges of the bulkier case, smile still there as he reached up and removed the smaller case. His computer, which he’d be needing, in proper condition as always. This wasn’t the place to check his weapons and their conditioning, but he was positive that Dandy had kept them in clean and working order just as he’d taught her.

"Excellent. Je te remercie." Ashley’s tone suggested he was rather pleased. Without hesitation, he pulled the from atop the other, checking it over in his hands before setting it down in front of him and unclipping the hinges on the front to allow it to open.
"De rein! Though, I do not see why you need so many. Is your target a difficult one?" Dandy chimed, a curious smile crossing her face as she watched Ashley open the top of his lap top to assure that it was in working order. His eyes remained glued on the screen as he gave a single head shake in response.
"I do not know. But I will not be taking any chances." A standard response from him really. Very rarely were his targets ‘difficult’ by any meaningful standard. Most of them hardly saw it coming, those who did usually begged or tried to bribe for their lives – a common choice among those who couldn’t seem to handle the consequences of their actions- or simply accepted the situation. Only a small handful ever actually fought back. Those were the ones he favored most but they were few and far between. While the current case was interesting, he wasn’t about to paint it as more than it possibly could be. Not yet.

Dandy stopped her petting of her brother’s Fennekin, leaning forward and setting her elbows on the table and her head in between her hands. "I see… hm..," She seemed to muse, her own dark gaze watching Ashley a moment as he checked his system. "Is that all you will be doing then? Nothing else?" Ashley paused to look over the edge of the lap top screen, an eyebrow arching. "Non, this iz it. Why?"
"You will be travelling, no?" Dandy continued her inquiry, Ashley’s lips pursing a bit. He could tell by her tone that she was seeking something more than just general information. True, this wasn’t out of the ordinary; she’d often inquire about where and what he would be doing on one of his ‘missions’. He wasn’t even surprised that she might’ve tried to dig further on this situation; he’d have to track down his quarry before he could get the job done, a first for him really.

"I will." Was his curt remark, gaze returning to his computer screen as he began to tap away at the keys. Dandy watched a moment, a slight pout crossing her face at such a meager response before she sat back in her chair and resumed giving the Fennekin a scratch behind the ears. It didn’t take long though for that warm smile to return to her face as she perked up.
"Oh! Then you should consider challenging the gyms as you go!" She chimed once more. Ashley paused in his typing, his mouth thinning to a line as he stared over the edge of the laptop screen once more. His expression suggested that he did not find the suggestion amusing. "… And why iz that?" Her smile spread to a grin, still scratching the fox. "Well… I just think it would be a nice change of pace. If you must do zee traveling and you are going to have your team with you, then it is only a good idea." Dandy’s head tilted just a bit. "It would be nice to have something to display on the wall for your accomplishments, no?"
Once more Ashley’s eyebrow quirked. He was quiet as he considered the situation, averting his gaze more with a little scoff. "What? Are you saying what I do is not noteworthy enough?" Dandy covered her mouth to stifle a giggle. "Bien sûr que non! I simply thing it would be… nice, is all." Ashley’s gaze softened just a bit, eyes rolling as he seemed to take a moment to consider the suggestion. He was personally looking forward to just the hunt and didn’t seem all too concerned about being distracted. Of course… he enjoyed distractions from time to time. Especially thrilling ones. A moment or so longer and he straightened up in his seat a hand raising to shove his glasses up the bridge of his nose.

With that battle over, Shinri once again started to look for a place to eat. However, he came to the sudden realization that he had no money to buy anything. Until now, it hadn't been a problem because he hadn't needed it. But, humans relied heavily on money. He didn't know why, but they did. Well, damn."...Well, looks like we're hunting until we can find some money. Have you ever been hunting, Moyasu?"Moyasu's look of utter disbelief and disgust told him that she had never been hunting before. Well, that would change. She wasn't a pampered lab fox now; she was the beta of his team. She would have to take responsibilities."Let's get to the forest then. I'll teach you how to hunt."

Dandy seemed satisfied with this response, smile turning to a grin as he head bobbed in a pleased nod. "Merveilleux!" Ashley looked up and gave his sister another observant look. She might’ve seemed ready to drop the subject just like that, but he knew his sister better. He wouldn’t be surprised if along the way he caught little text messages inquiring his ‘badge acquisition’ process. Maybe he would look into it; if only to pass the time as he commenced his search. Of course, once his target was found that would be his focus.
Soon he was shutting the laptop down, snapping the top shut and re-clicking the latches back into place. He went about checking the strap attached to the casing as well satisfied that it was in proper condition. He had half a mind to check his guns too, public space be damned (he didn’t really care) but soon the X-Transceiver at his wrist sprung to life.
"Master Fontaine.” The digital-styled voiced interrupted. Ashley and Dandy immediately fell quiet, both their eyes flickering to the device at his wrist. He flicked it backwards and took a look, eyebrow quirking. "Oui Octave?" The device began to illuminate once more. "Mister Lyndon is requesting an audience before you begin your travels. He says that he will be available in Santalune City to meet you.”
Ashley quirked an eyebrow a moment, considering a the information before his head nodded. "Very well then. Inform monsieur Lyndon I shall see him as soon as possible.""Yes sir.” And once more, the device flickered off.

Ashley was already getting up from his seat, snapping the shoulder strap for his computer onto the device and slinging it over his shoulder so that it could rest carefully at his right side. Once he was certain it was secure he reached out and latched a hand on the handle of the bigger case, swiftly dragging it across the table and to his other side. "It appears that I must be on my way." His attention focused on to Dandy once more, briefly looking at his Fennekin. Dandy gave a little pout, setting the fox down on the ground so that it might return to his trainer, though he seemed rather disappointed at this. Dandy got up as well, brushing down the front of her dress before clapping her hands together.
"Oui." Her tone hinted at disappointment but Ashley knew better. He watched as she stepped around once more, smile returning to her face as she swiftly gave him a goodbye squeeze of a hug. "You will be careful, no?" Ashley gave the slightest hint of a smile once more returning with a half hug of his own with his free arm, gently patting his sister on the back as he stepped back once more. "Je ferai de mon mieux." Was his response before giving her a slight kiss on the forehead and a gentle ruffling of her hair. Her cheeks puffed a bit a faux pout before she giggled and nodded, stepping back and kneeling to offer the Fennekin a goodbye as well. "Au revoir Bastien Take care of my brother, s'il vous plaît?" The Fennekin’s head tilted, giving an uncertain kind of yip in response. Did Ashley really need watching ? He doubted it. Also, who was this ‘Bastien’?
Ashley caught the name as well. "Bastien?" Dandy hopped back up, smile on her face. "It is a fitting name for him, no? You had not found one, I could tell." Ashley’s expression flat lined just a bit as he considered something eyes darting down to the Fennekin. He didn’t seem to have much of an opinion or maybe he just didn’t realize there was a potential name being put to him. A moment so of lingering silence and Ashley nodded. "It is." He rolled a shoulder and nodded, turning and stepping off. "Bastien it shall be." He looked to his Fennekin and gave a slight jerk of his head. "Let us go Bastien."
Dandy grinned and rocked on her heels again, patting the Fennekin once more before giving a little wave goodbye to her brother."Au revoir, Ashley! Make sure to check in!" Ashley just nodded. Of course, of course.

Entering the new town Lysander took the initiative to pull them off from the main road and onto the sidewalk, his expression thoughtful as he looked through the window of a nearby café. "When's the last time we ate?" he inquired, turning to Heather for an answer. "Uh... maybe a few hours ago?" the younger girl estimated, turning back around to check on the pokemon in the process. "We ate at that hotel mom put us up in this morning." Lysander nodded, his eyes never leaving the café, before he jerked his head forward and began walking, "we oughta eat, and you said you wanted to talk about our plan; we're killing two pidgey with one stone here."
Ignoring the rather morbid expression Heather simply nodded before she began to follow after her brother, the three pokemon behind her falling in line. Once they were there she took it upon herself to snag them a table outside, its umbrella open and everything, and left Lysander to order their food after she'd told him what she wanted. Heather hummed happily to herself and immediately bent down to pick Cadenza up, giving him a soft squeeze, and then released her other two pokemon. "Bonjour~" she chirped, then gestured eagerly to Froakie. "This is Lysander's newest pokemon, isn't he cute!"

Tina looked over at Froakie, her gaze cool and unwavering, before eventually she looked away and hopped onto the table. She didn't stop there, however, and climbed her way up the pole of the umbrella and then over it to perch at the very top; where she'd have both a vantage point and the chance to be alone. Heather looked up ahead, holding back from leaning back in her chair, but with a soft smile she chose not to comment on her Treecko's little climbing escapade or her standoffish nature, that was just Cavatina and she respected that.

Legato, on the other hand--or rather 'flipper-- was far more willing to actually interact with Froakie, in fact he seemed rather pleased to be within the company of another water type. He barked happily before flopping over to Froakie and tapping his nose to his face, his way of greeting, then leaned back with a smile. Froakie made a face, left a bit confused by the action, but eventually relaxed and gave a sharp salute to Legato. So far he'd had pleasant interactions with all the pokemon, he didn't even seem bothered by Cavatina's cold shoulder, something Heather noticed and couldn't help but beam at.
