She had misjudged the opposing pokemon's strength and her sweet little bird had paid the price for it. Clearly her gamble didn't pay off. However, Crash was still standing on the battlefield, and her opponent only had one pokemon left for this challenge. She waited to see what he would use and was treated to a pleasant surprise. The guy had sent out an Aron! Granted, while they were tough little pokemon, she didn't think there was a worse opponent for that Aron than her Makuhita which was already out and still raring to fight. Berrie's face twisted into a dark smile as her fists clenched. She was already picturing what she'd do to this rat of a trainer. "Crash," she said, "Give this guy an example of what's in store for him. Pummel his Aron into dust..."[- -]It was odd to hear such an eerie tone or such harsh words come out of the little girl, so odd that the Makuhita almost questioned it. However, it was in the mood to fight, and that's what he'd just been ordered to do. Crash hit his fists together and then darted right up to the Aron, unleashing a flurry of stiff punches, each one denting the pokemon's metal body and the entire flurry leaving the Aron looking like a crumpled tin can.[-

-]After the opposing trainer's final pokemon dropped, looking more dead than alive, Cerbera only took half a moment to recall her Makuhita into it's pokeball. It was after that half moment, though, that things got really interesting. She was already making good on her wager before the other trainer could even register that his Aron had been beaten so severely. Frankly the tiny steel type had not moved since the barrage of blows ended, but the trainer didn't have time to think about that. Cerbera had already dashed right up to him and was making like her Makuhita, unleashing a flurry of blows to the boy's softer spots to cause lasting pain. She just kept letting the punches fly, showing no sort of remorse for this bully. His cries of pain rang out with each vicious impact from this small girl, and by the time she was done he was a beaten, bloody mess. The boy looked to be just about in the same shape as his Aron and Berrie thought that it had been a pretty accurate warning. The idea popping into her head made her giggle, totally out of place, and she told the boy who was only semi-conscious at this state, "Next time you want to bully a trainer into battling so you can steal one of their pokemon, think about right now. Think about how you were beaten so soundly, in battle and personally. Think about how worthless you are, scumbag...."[- -]Cerbera walked back over to her pokemon and knelt down, giving them all a hug. "You guys ready to go?" she asked, "We need to to get Spirit and Quill treated for their injuries....Crash too." The pokemon seemed a little bit unsettled, but they set back off for the Pokemon Center and soon were being handed over to the nurse there for treatment.[-

-]According to the nurse, it would take a while to get her pokemon healed up, so Cerbera figured she had some time to kill. She thought for a few moments on how best to utilize it, and figured that since she was almost finished her personal project, that this would be a good opportunity to put the finishing touches on it. She took the last few pieces she was working on out of her bag, and was finally able to fit the finished canvas onto the frame. All that was left now was to really give the finished product a try and make sure she'd done it right. For now, she just opened the kite and collapsed it for storage a few times in a row to make sure there weren't any issues with it in that regard. She could give it a real test at another time. Happy that her kite was complete, the girl finally packed it away and went tot he counter to check on her friends. She knew she had a disadvantage as soon as the Fletchling was released from it's pokeball, but for the first bout to be decided so quickly, so efficiently? It was pretty rough, and not easy at all for the girl to accept. If this little bird was so tough, then Kenzi thought she should match strength with strength, sending out her strongest pokemon, her Timburr. When she saw the choice her opponent made, Cerbera wondered if this girl Kenzi was a little foolish or maybe even crazy. It didn't make sense to send a fighting pokemon out now, not into a situation that put it at such long odds. Berrie bit her lip, feeling a little sorry for her opponent. "Quill," she said, "You've got this. Show that Timburr the power of aerial combat!"[- -]The Fletchling gave a cry as it circled overhead, acknowledging her trainer's orders. Just as she had against the Leafeon, Quill swooped in and gave the fighting pokemon a powerful shot with her beak. However, this Timburr was made of far sturdier stuff than expected, and it batted at the bird, landing a hard blow. Quill was not to be taken lightly, however, and she took off again, building up speed before swooping in for another shot...only to be cuffed by the Timburr once more. Agitated, the bird lashed out with it's beak, dealing the final blow and making Timbur drop to it's knees.[-

However, the slug's response took both the Dedenne and Cerbera by surprise, as a large ball of mud was slung at the tiny mouse. That single shot sent Sparky reeling, but he didn't give up. -]Cerbera beamed with pride as her Dedenne scurried back over aftor the hard-won victory. She scooped him up and snuggled the little guy in her arms. "That was impressive, Sparky," she told him, "I'm so sorry you got this hurt though...I never would have expected a move like that. You handled it wonderfully though." She gave the mouse a soft peck on the top of the head and hugged him to her chest. The Dedenne snuggled into her, accidentally giving her another mildly tingling shock and making Berrie giggle. Meanwhile, Kenzi took the remaining three pokeballs out of her bag and looked them over, as though she were weighing her options. Foongus was her second strongest pokemon, so she decided to give it a try. As soon as Cerbera saw the mushroom pokemon, however, her grin only grew. "Quill, you should still have enough left in you to take this guy on, right?" she asked.[- -]The Fletchling gave a short cry, agreeing with Berrie's answer, and took flight once more. It circled overhead for a moment, then swooped down to peck at the mushroom. However, just before impact, the Foongus began to glow. When the bird's beak hit it, the mushroom didn't even seem fazed. Rather, its glowing grew brighter. Cerbera realized too late what was about to happen, but before she couls say anything further, Quill lashed out again, driving it's beak right into the mushroom and felling it before the explosive return of power could go off. As the Foongus fainted, however, the bird pokemon began to glow instead. It shot up into the air and began to streak back and forth faster and faster. It was enough of a scene to make the girls below worry, especially when the bird burst into flames. However, Quill soon streaked towards the ground, landing in a cloud of dust and smoke. When the air cleared, the could see the Fletchling...bigger, more powerful looking...The Fletchling had evolved.[-

This girl definitely possessed the drive to become a top trainer. Apparently Kenzi held a similar opinion of Berrie, because after they had exchanged phone numbers, Kenzi got a few things out of her bag and gave them to Cerbera as a gift. One was a pouch of incredibly soft sand, and the other was a rather sweet smelling incense. The two girls hugged tightly and then Kenzi set off in the direction of the Pokemon Center. Cerbera, on the other hand, just tucked the items into her bag and fetched out some potions. She used them to treat the injuries her pokemon had received as they were much less severe. She then called both Quill and Sparky into their respective balls and tucked them away too. It was nice to see some greenery again, especially after what felt was a prolonged exposure to just dinge and grim that was Cyllage. Carefully he remove the flute he’d purchased at the pokemart, looking it over in his grasp. He’d original bought two, but gave the second up for some sort of donation drive going on at the time. He wasn’t usually a charitable individual –far from it- but he hardly needed to add many specific pokemon to his team. Or, rather, he didn’t really want to. He was quite pleased with the current crew he had. There might’ve been some pitfalls but if his last gym battle had been any proof, then it was a fairly clear that he could more than make up for any potential weaknesses. There was always a work around, no matter what the situation. Type advantages? There was covers for that by boosting defenses. A pokemon too slow? Make them faster. There were all kinds of tips and tricks to taking advantage of those small issues. He had a pretty good idea on how that wall worked.

But the idea of encountering a wild Eevee was exciting in his mind. And if he should be so fortunate, he’d love to own an eeveelution in particular. If the flute worked –it better work- then he’d have his chance. Letting Alphonse lead Bastien some ahead and checking to see if Odilon was still flying around above –he was- he set his focus on their surroundings, slowing down in his pace as he shifted his attention to what he was doing currently.

If he understood correctly, how the flute worked then he’d be on the road to accomplishing his intentions. Pulling out the small pamphlet that he’d been provided along with the flute, he looked it over until he found the appropriate sheet of music for his intended target. He located the notes and nodded absently to himself, taking a moment to figure out the appropriate finger placements, taking another moment slowly practice to make sure he had the process down. Once he was satisfied he had the tune semi-committed to memory, he put the flute to his lips and began to play. The tune was surprisingly preppy even as he proceeded slowly through it.
Alphonse stopped to look back as he heard the melody beginning to play, eyeing his trainer curiously as the man continued to play. He was familiar with the flute and what it did, and immediately his attention shifted about. Bastien was more caught up in the soothing tune, surprised to even hear Ashley playing something like that. He wasn’t familiar with the tune or what it was about, though his own hears were twitching in rhythm. Eventually though, a shuffling sound nearby caused him to snap his attention away from his trainer, expression growing in surprise as a little brown fox-type creature emerged from the nearby grass.
Its ears twitched a moment as though it too was picking up the tune, and with a sort of cautious steady manner continued towards Ashley. Bastien stared wide eyed at the creature, curious what it was up to. Alphonse however didn’t hesitate, immediately moving into action and attacking.

Ashley ‘hm’ed as the black flute dissipated in his grasp, watching only a moment as the dust remains fluttered through the wind before shifting his focus back at the sound of the pokeball dinging in success. He strolled over and cocked an eyebrow as he scooped the ball up into one hand, a thoughtful expression on his face as he looked it over before looking at Alphonse.
"That was overkill on your part, Alphonse. Learn to control yourself." Ashley remarked, shrinking the pokeball and adding it to the collection at his belt. The Audino just gave a little huff in faux agitation, stroking the fluff under his chin before turning his attention elsewhere. Bastien was still watching in awe at the display of power, humbled just a bit by the battle. He’d certainly known Alphonse to be strong, but seeing him actively display that power again a creature like that was well… terrifying.
Nonetheless, that was one small task that the French man wanted to complete down, with numerous others still to come. He’d make a trip to the Pokemon Center his second priority to get the new Eevee healed and begin her adjustment into his team. He tugged out the pokedex from his bag, running through it quickly to display the new information of his catch, an eyebrow quirking as he gathered more information. He’d want to give her –yes ‘her’, an absolute oddity of a new addition to the sausage fest of a group he already possessed- a proper name and start her on the path to evolving into his desired eeveelution. It time and dedications –usually- but he had patience and enough focus for the task. A majority of his pokemon he’d raised from their first evolutions –save Alphonse, who had none- and so he was up to getting the deed done.
"Come. Let us continue on." Ashley remarked as he tucked the device away, adjusting the strap of his case over his shoulder and his grip on his case before continuing along the path through Geosenge Town. It was only a little farther until they’d stumbled across the infamous stones that the town was famous for.
